CW: dehydration.
Drink your water, wisps
(3rd Person PoV)
"A little to the left! Right there, exactly right there! Place the glass right there!" Tommy shouted as SamNook was working on placing glass on the windows.
"I DID IT, TOMMYINNIT," SamNook celebrated, throwing its hands in the air.
Tommy clapped rapidly before taking a step back, taking it all in that the hotel was almost done.
Just a little bit longer, he thought.
"H-hey," a soft voice said behind him.
Tommy turned around and mentally screamed.
Ranboo was the one who spoke and Tubbo was hiding somewhere but Tommy could tell that he was there.
"What is it, boob boi?" Tommy asked.
They look down and fiddled around with their fingers.
"We were wondering if you knew how to do taxes?" Ranboo explained.
"Taxes? F*ck that," Tommy rolled his eyes.
"So you don't?" Ranboo asked.
"I have other problems to deal with to worry about government and sh*t," Tommy explained.
That and I live with a literal anarchist. Does Techno even does his taxes? Do we even have taxes here? He wondered.
"A-ah ok. Sorry to bother you," Ranboo murmured before glancing at Tubbo who had gotten out of his hiding spot.
"Well then, can you come back another day when the hotel is actually finished? I don't want the public eye to know that it's taking a long time," Tommy said.
"Umm yeah sure," the two of them said and walked away.
Is it just me or are they getting close? Not that I care, Tommy thought.
"TOMMYINNIT ARE YOU OK?" Sam Nook asked.
"Huh? Oh I'm fine, don't worry" Tommy assured him.
It didn't look so sure though.
"ARE YOU SAD, TOMMYINNIT?" Sam Nook asked.
"Whaaaaa? No, I'm not," Tommy replied.
Again, they didn't look so sure.
"..........SHOULD WE FINISH UP NOW?" Sam Nook asked and Tommy nodded.
"Y-Yeah."
(Sometime later)
Ranboo and Tubbo went back to their home where two piles of paper were gathered up.
"You know, as ex-President, I should be better at paperwork," Tubbo attempted for a joke but it fell flat.
"How are we supposed to fill this up now? Who is even in charge of taxes when the government is gone now?" Ranboo asked.
"Dunno. Some third party I guess," Tubbo then let out a groan.
"What's wrong?" Ranboo asked.
"It would be much easier if it was just one pile of taxes with two people working on it," Tubbo explained.
"What like two married people? You're not suggesting marriage right?" Ranboo asked.
"I was actually thinking having two people make it for us but that's not a bad idea. We're going to married now, platonically, doesn't have to be romantic," Tubbo replied.
"...huh?" Ranboo was very confused.
"We're going to married for tax reasons. We can even throw a wedding for it. We'll make Tommy the flower girl," Tubbo explained.
"The flower girl? Do you think he'll agree on that?" Ranboo asked.
Tubbo shrugged.
...
...
...
"So who's telling him about our...marriage?" Ranboo asked, already accepting the fact that he's going to be platonically married to Tubbo.
"...........uhhhhh," Tubbo gulped.
"..."
"NOSE GOS!" They both shouted and held a finger to the tips of their noses.
"...dammit," Tubbo huffed.
"Sorry," Ranboo said.
(Later)
Tommy was sitting on a bench with his legs crossed and staring at the large walls of Pandora's Box.
It's been almost a year since Dream was sentenced to prison. He wondered how he was doing.
This was the era of peace, as Techno called it, and Tommy is hoping that it lasts longer.
He sighed to himself.
If this was the era of peace, then why did he still felt tormented by nightmares plaguing his sleep more than once.
And it was always the same one.
Tommy tried not to think about it. The nightmares never made sense. Blood wasn't pink.
He talked to Puffy about it but even she didn't have a clear answer.
She did tell him that it might be his fear of death especially since Tommy has one canon life left.
He hoped it was just that.
The more he sat here, the more his mind wandered to the prison.
He knows that he needs to pay a visit there sometime soon. A visit to officially close the door between him and Dream.
Tommy took a deep breath and got up from the bench.
Might as well make that now.
He send a private message to Techno and Phil on how he was going to finally do that thing that he was putting off for a while now.
He also told Techno to take Ares on a walk because he has been very fidgety lately.
Tommy then left and went to Pandora's Box.
When he arrived there, Sam greeted him and told him to put his weapons and stuff that he considers valuable in a chest.
Prison policy and sh*t.
Tommy did just that.
"Tommy...listen. Don't 100 percent believe in what Dream says. Being in here has warped his mind in a way that even I couldn't comprehend so I got Puffy and she didn't want to tell me how and why. All she told me is to warn other visitors when they come," Sam explained.
"Warped his mind? How so?" Tommy asked.
"He's been talking to himself, muttering about something that I couldn't quite hear," Sam replied.
"We all talk to ourselves. It's how we communicate with our voices," Tommy pointed out.
"It's not his voices," Sam shook his head which shocked Tommy.
"What?"
"Listen. Just have a short visit with him and get out of there as soon as you can. I'm going to a three day slumber after this so just get out as soon as you can," Sam told him.
"Three day slumber? Oh right, that's how you preserve your energy so you don't explode randomly," Tommy said.
The creeper hybrid scratched the back of his neck.
"Yeah...just a quick in and out alright?" He told him and Tommy nodded.
He led him to where Dream was being kept.
Over the lava, the platform moved towards Dream's cell and Tommy could see that Sam was just a dot on the other side.
He then turned his attention to the man who tormented him and the unfortunate ally to him in destroying L'Manberg.
Dream.
He was still wearing that creepy mask and was now wearing a bright orange prison jumpsuit which looked god awful in Tommy's opinion. Dream's hair looked shaggy and has reached a couple inches below his shoulders.
To Tommy, Dream looked like a mess.
Despite that, Dream greeted him with a cheery voice.
"Hello Tommy! It's been almost a year!" He chirped.
Tommy shuffled uncomfortably. "Yeah...it has," he muttered.
"How's the family? How's your dog? How's your wife, wait you don't have one," Dream then did a wheezing laugh at this.
Based on the laugh, Tommy could tell that Dream was dehydrated. He couldn't tell by choice or by force.
"So why are you here? To visit lil ol' me? I'm flattered, I tell you," Dream said.
"Not necessarily," Tommy swallowed some spit that was forming in his mouth.
"Look, I'm here to burn some bridges. A lot of things that have happened to me, I get it, I had it coming. But you made it ten times worse. At the beginning, yeah I understood that you were feeling threatened and you swooped down to my level to get back at me. Even to go to that petty war against me. But as time went on, there were so many things that were just...well unjustified. But the worse part was exile. And how you basically forced my oldest friend to stab me in the back. You didn't even need to use force, you just had to make him feel cornered...," Tommy took a pause to catch his breath.
Dream was quiet. Listening intently.
"And then you tormented me. Made my life a living hell! Making me feel inferior to you and taking away my rights as being. Exile, I hated that time and whenever I looked back on it, I hated you. If I spent more time in there, who knows what would have happened. Who knows what your plan was? Escaping was the best thing that happened to me in what felt like a while. And I'm here to tell you that you no longer have control over my thoughts and actions. You're powerless and that's honestly the best case scenario for you. Being trapped in here," Tommy explained, his legs feeling shaky.
Dream tilted his head slightly.
"Is that all?" He asked.
"That's all...have fun living this prison life," Tommy waved and turned to leave only to realize something in horror.
The platform has moved back to it started.
"What?!" Tommy cried.
"Haha! You really thought you were that smart since you ambushed me with a huge part of the server? Well, I got some news for you, vessel. I have gained new knowledge and powers that you may not understand. I knew that you were going to visit me one of these days so I'd figure that you could use some quality time with me. Trapped in the prison with your old pal, Dream," he laughed.
Tommy took a step back.
This was not how he wanted this visit to go.
A/N: it's been a while. Really should say something else but I got nothing.
