Sunaina was standing there feeling really insulted and humiliated...her friends Charu and Mitali were standing next to her...adding fuel to the already burning fire....

Charu: Yrr....Sunu.....Sameer ko aise nii krna chahiye tha....

Mitali: Exactly babe....how can he call u time-pass in front of everyone.....

Charu: Exactly...usne hi sabke saamne tumhara proposal accept kia tha...aur aaj?

Mitali: Aaj usne us new girl k liye...tumhe hurt kr dia.....how can he do this to you?

Sunaina was already very angry on Sameer....and held Naina responsible for everything that happened......and now adding on to it, her friends words worked as pepper on her wounds...

Sunaina: Just shut up....Aaj tk kisi ki himmat nii hui ki Sunaina Kapoor ki insult krne ki....They both are gonna pay for this.....Ye insult us new comer ko bahot bhaari padegi....Aur Sameer Maheshwari ko b....They both are gonna pay really hard for this one.....

Sunaina looked in that direction with lots of hatred in her eyes...and then stomping her feet...left from there...followed by her so-called friends......But someone else was also burning in the same fire...and was determined to avenge Sunaina's insult.........

Naina came back to her room and cried hugging her pillow......She buried her head in her pillow and cried her heart out.....Just few months ago, she lost her parents....and today a random girl is questioning their upbringing......and that too without any mistake of hers...she was just standing there, and they were the ones who were in an inappropriate condition.....she wasn't the one to be blamed...and not her parents either......She kept crying and remembering her parents, just then the girls came inside.....

Preeti and Swati kept sitting next to her and Avi too sat beside her...

Preeti: Naina...please chup ho jaa naa.....kitna royegi.....

Swati: Mera to mann krra h us ldki ka muh Tod du Jake....

Avi: Usse kuchh nii hoga.....Sunaina aisi hi h....

Preeti: (angrily) Aur tumhaare dost ko wahi mili thi poori duniya Mei gf banane k liye?

Swati: Aur nii to kya? Khud b itna sadu h...aur gf b aisi hi mili h use.....

Avi: Nii yrr....actually Sameer aisa ek reason ki wajah se h.....nii to apne friends p jaan chhidakta h.....aur vo Sunaina se koi pyaar vyaar nii krta.....Vo to bs...

Preeti: To kya us corner Mei uske saath bhajan krra tha? 

Avi: (whispering to Swapree) Yrr...abhi ye sb chhodo naa......pehle Naina ko chup karayein?

Preeti: Yrr...Naina ko kya bolu ab mai? Us Sunaina ne Tauji Taiji ko beech Mei laya h...abhi kuchh mahine pehle hi to.....

Preeti stopped abruptly...and Avi understood...Sid told her about Naina's parents after Sameer left with Sunaina and Naina was standing in the queue for the food....The girls kept caressing her back...and Naina didn't realize when she fell asleep while crying.....The girls too departed to their beds, when they found her sound asleep.......

Naina woke up in the middle of the night because of a horrifying nightmare....She sat up on her bed, breathing heavily......She looked around and all the other three, seemed to be in a deep slumber......She got up to have glass of water.....and after having water, she moved towards the attached balcony of her room....

The nights at hilly areas are comparatively cooler.....And being the end of March, it was quite cold...Naina stood there looking towards the sky...trying to find her parents amongst the cluster of stars.......But today even they were not visible in the clouded sky, she was about to turn and go back to her room...when she saw a shadow at a distant...seemed like someone is as lonely as her....but due to the darkness surrounding that area, she couldn't see the face of the person......She sighed and went back to her room.....and tried to sleep....and after lot of tossing and turning on the bed, she was finally able to sleep.......

Next morning Naina was the first one to wake up...she was still disturbed about last night's incident.....but she had decided that she will not fall weak....she would fight with a new spirit....And would definitely make everyone proud on her.....And with this determination, she was ready to face obstacles that would come her way.....She got up from her bed and went towards the restroom to get done with her morning chores...before the other wake up.....

When Naina came out, Swati and Avi were already awake...and as always Preeti was still sleeping.....Naina came out and Swavi hugged her...Naina was indeed blessed to find such friends......who were there with her...she hugged them back with a serene smile...her heart did feel lighter now......

Avi: Tu theek h naa?

Naina: Haan...don't worry...bilkul theek hu.....

Swati: Pakka naa?

Naina: Haan baba...pakka......

Swati: Ab ek second k liye b tujhe akela nii chhondenge hum.....

Avi: Haan...aur recess aur baaki time tum humaare saath hi rahogi....

Naina: Nii....its ok....hum room Mei to milte hi h naa......

Avi: Mujhe pata h tu aisa kyu bol rii h...lekin.....mai kuchh nii sunungi....

Naina: Nii..Avi...please......Mai.....

Avi: Lekin Naina......

Swati gestured Avi to leave the topic for time being...as it might disturb Naina all over again....And Avi just hummed in response...later Naina went to get ready after trying wake up Preeti innumerable times.......only to get the repeated answers again and again......

Preeti: Bs 5 min aur......

Swati: Naina...tu jaa...hum ise uthate hain......

Avi: Haan......tu jaa...fir humein b ready hona h.....

Naina: Achha theek h.....

One by one they all got ready for the first day of their new academic year...and first day for Swapreena at St. Stephen's.......They all got ready and moved towards the cafeteria to have their breakfast...before moving to their classes......When they reached their, Naina decided to sit separately.....And she moved towards a different table......The boys looked at her, but couldn't understand the reason behind this.....Avi came and sat with them, whereas Swapreena sat on another table...away from Avi and the boys.....

Avi sat down with the boys with a forlorn and sad look on her face......and boys looked at her in question, whereas Sameer as always looked disinterested.....while he was all ears to the conversation amongst the others......

Sid: Avi...ye Naina ko kya hua? Ye log alag kyu baithe hain?

Avi: Yrr...Naina kl bahot royi h....and she wanted to sit separately.....

Pandit: Le...mtlb kl ka sara drama waste.....

Avi: Shut up yrr Pandit...tujhe Naina ki insult drama lg raa h? Mera to mann krra h us Sunaina kaa jaake muh noch lu.....Waise aaj aayi nii abhi tk Sammy baby krti hui...huh....

Munna: Hahahahhaha nii aayegi ab vo.....

Avi: Kyu? Aisa kya hua use? Apne kiye p sharam aa gyi kya?

Munna: Nii...lekin Sameer ki baatein sunne k baad agar aayi to smjh lena ki use sharam naam ki cheez hi nii h.....

Avi: Mtlb?

Sid: Mai batata hu.....

Sid told her about the entire scenario that followed after their departure.....And Avi listened to his each and every word with rapt attention...and by the end of it...she sat like a statue with wide eyes......Someone else too heard all this, and left from their happily...after hearing all this......

Sidmundit waited for her reaction.......But seems like she is in some kind of shock....Sid tapped her shoulders and shook her a little...Avi came out of her daze and ran to the other side of the table and hugged Sameer really tightly....And he rolled his eyes at her drama....

Avi: Hayee Sameer...I love you...I love you..I love u sooooooooo much.....Mtlb you are the best.....

Sidmundit laughed at Avi's antics...while Sameer was happy on the inside, but still irked on Naina's behavior.......He didn't respond much...and Avi knowing his nature didn't mind and hugged him tighter.....Sidmundit too joined the hug.......Sameer wriggled to get out of their hold...but his friends seemed to be enjoying this irritation of his......But when they felt that this volcano will erupt soon..they left him...looking at him with puppy faces....

Sameer: Pgll ho kya? Aur kya tbse Naina Naina laga rakna h...aur tu kya pareshaan ho rii h uske liye...Uska ego dekha h? Itna krne k baad b wahan jaake baith gyi.....Are Sunaina ne use parents ko kuchh bola its ok...I mean tumlog ki tarah she too might love her parents....but uske parents use yahan chhod gye naa...ghutne k liye.....to itna kya react krri h.....

Sameer huffed in anger...but while talking about parents, a flash of pain and anger crossed him.....but he again covered it up with his all time cold expressions......But Avi could no longer see this...she knew Sameer was unaware of Naina's reasons...

Avi: (sadly) Nii Sameer....uske parents usse apni jaan se b zada pyaar krte the...And she isn't overreacting.....bina jaane Sunaina blamed her upbringing....She's lost both her parents in an accident Sameer...just few months ago......Uska hurt hona is natural...tujhse better koi nii jaan skta ye baat.....

Saying this Avi took her bag and left from there...her eyes were again filled with tears....Sidmundit too left from there with misty eyes.......

On the other hand at the same time....Preeti reached where Swati and Naina were sitting, after taking her breakfast...Naina had seen Sameer the moment she entered but didn't give any reaction...They both were sitting having their breakfast....and Swati constantly chattering about something or the other to cheer up Naina.....Just then Preeti came running...with a wide smile on her face....

Preeti: Haaye...sachi yrr kitna kuchh miss kr dia humne....

Swati: Kya bol rii h?

Naina: Tune kuchh ulta seedha to nii kha lia naa? This place is definitely weird.....

Preeti: Are...jb mai tumlogon ko bataungi naa what I've heard....tumlog b khush ho jaoge....

Naina: Achha? So what's that we've missed and should regret about?

Preeti: Bhn...vo khadoos h naa...

Swati: Kon?

Preeti: Are...Avi k group mei....

Naina: Sameer?

Swati: (teasing) Kya baat h Naina....Tujhe bada yaad h vo? 

Naina: Shut up...not now..please.....

Preeti: Haan...pehle lemme complete.....Haan to hua ye tha ki...after we left naa.....

And Preeti told them everything she'd heard from Sid......And Naina too was not able to understand.....why he was so much concerned about her.......and Swati was listening to everything with a dreamy smile.....And Naina could't help but smiled...She looked in his direction and he was listening to something Avi was saying....quietly....Swapree saw that...but before they could take their teasing sessions any further...the bell rang indicating that they have to go to the assembly room...and just then Avi came, followed by the boys and they all left for the assembly hall....Sameer too followed them quietly.....

After the assembly and welcoming of all students into a new academic year, they all were asked to disperse to their classrooms.....All the while, Sameer's gaze kept moving in Naina's direction....She was standing a little ahead of him, with Swapree and the others of her class....Naina too turned to look at him multiple times...and always found his intense gaze fixed on her......Every time their eyes met...something stirred within them.....their eyes didn't wanted to leave the sight of the other.....something was pushing them towards each other.....Naina was till lost, thinking why would he take her side...just because she was Avi's friend......and Avi was close to him...or there was something else?

On the other hand....Sameer felt terrible knowing about her parents...this girl was definitely strong....When he lost his father, he was really young to understand anything...And in due course of time, lost his mother too......He was very well aware of how it felt when you loose your loved ones...especially your parents...he had been living with this pain..this emptiness all his life...He was thankful to God that he had Nanu.....else he would've been as good as an orphan.......Who does she have? Those people who came to drop her....did they hold the same place in her life, what his Nanu held in his? Whatever be it, he wouldn't let people crush her innocence..the way his was crushed by this cruel world....he would keep her safe....But why does he want to do that? How does he even care? She just came yesterday...and she was conquering all the unreachable territories of his heart, which he never let anyone do......then why was she affecting him so much? What if she's like other women he's seen in his life.....Except for his Nani and Avi...he's never trusted any girl......What if she's not worth it......

Sameer had many questions in his mind...but had answers to none...Only future knows what it holds for them.....His reverie was broken by the loud claps of all the students....He too started clapping...without even knowing what's going on......All the students started to disperse for their classes.....Avi after telling the girls of their class, left for her own along with Sidmundit and Sameer....

Swapreena settled down in their places...just when Naina found her water bottle empty...

Naina: Are yrr...I forgot to fill the bottle....

Swati: Haan to mera lele...big deal...

Preeti: Even I have one...

Naina: Are nii...while coming I saw a water filter outside..abhi koi teacher b nii h..mai leke aati hu.... 

Swati: Are par....

Naina: 2 min Mei aa jaungi....

Preeti: Ruk mai b aati hu...

Swati: Haan chal..hum chalte hain.....

Naina: Chup krke baitho....mai bs 5 min Mei aa jaungi....

And saying this, Naina left from there....All the corridors were empty...maybe everyone were in class.....She had lied to Swapree that water cooler was just outside.....She had a come a little away from her class to find one.....She went to the water purifier and while coming back lost her way to the classroom and came to the other side of the building....She looked around and realized that she has lost her way to class..

Nain: (hitting her forehead) Pagal h kya? Raasta hi bhool gyi..tch..lets go back..koi dikhega to poochh lungi....Aur ye school h yaa bhool bhulaiya...new students ko ek round to dena chahiye naa.....huh.....Let's see

Naina was going back looking for someone who could help her....There she found a group of boys...who didn't look like the good ones....but she was desperate to reach her class...so putting on a confident self....She moved in their direction...and just then she saw a board of 12th class at a distance....that is where Avi's class must be...she had told them in the morning that all the sections of every standard is next to each other.....Hence Naina decided to go and find Avi and ask her for help......She was about to walk past the boys...when they stood in her way and stopped her....

And the gang was none other than Kartik...he had been finding a chance to trouble Naina...and get into Sunaina's good books....He had always liked her...but she was always behind Sameer...And after yesterday's incident..he had a golden chance....

Naina: Please excuse me....

Kartik: (with an evil smirk) We will but pehle intro do....

Naina: Mujhe apna koi intro nii dena h...

Priyank: Don't you know...seniors h hum....

Vicky: To intro to tumhe dena hi hoga...

Naina: Just leave my way...and move aside......else I would complain to principal....

Kartik: Achha..aur vo kya krega?

Vicky: Humein rusticate?

Priyank: Kartik k dad b trustee h.....

They all started laughing ...while Naina was getting impatient to move away from there....She tried to go from the corner, when Kartik held her hand.....Naina looked at him with wide eyes...and he held her hand more tightly.....She tried to get out of his hold, but he wasn't leaving her.... just then someone came from behind and placed a hand on Kartik's shoulder.....

Naina's eyes were filled with tears...but she was relieved to see the person in front of her....It was none other than Sameer....
