Chapter Six
** Josh Roberts **
We talked for what must have been hours. Jacob fell asleep and woke back up again naturally at least four times. We continued to talk all that time. It got dark, then it started to get light again. "Good night," I finally yawn. "You mean good morning, Kitten." I laugh. "I'm going to bed," I groan. "See you in fifteen minutes, Kitten." "What?" Jacob is waking up now. "Good morning, Jakey," I say in a sappy and high-pitched voice. "Do not call me that," he mumbles into his pillow. "Sorry, big brother, but I can't do that," I tease. "Jakey?" Shay laughs from the other window. "Oh, crap. I have a feeling that'll be spreading around school very soon." "Don't worry, my lips are sealed. But, you won't mind if I tell LarIsha, will you?" Jacob makes a growling noise into the pillow and reluctantly gets up. I wave to Shay, close my window, and run to the bathroom. Ah, darn, Jacob beat me there. La la la la la. Hurry up in there! He finally finishes and I rush in. Ah. I really needed to pee.
We have to walk to school. "And only because you and Miss Iron Maiden had to stay up all night talking." "Oh, hey, I thought you were, like, our biggest and only fan." He snorts. "Well, at least I got some sleep. You look like crap, dude." "Said the twin brother to his twin brother." Jacob laughs. "Seriously, though. You've got big bags under your eyes, and, as usual, you have bedhead, and get this : you're actually smiling. It's scary." I hit him lightly on the shoulder. "Shut up."
We arrive at school. My eyes dart around. I spot Shay talking to a girl with dark skin and green hair. I guess that's LarIsha.
*** SHAY WILSON ***
"Speak of the devil." LarIsha points toward the twins. I hadn't realized how crappy Josh looked until now, especially next to Jacob, who looked rather put together. "And he shall appear. Come on. I'd like you to meet him. A real oddball, he is." I grab LarIsha's hand and lead her in their direction. "Oh, hey," Josh says, waving his hand a bit. Jacob yawns. "I'm Josh, this is Jacob. Be sure to keep that straight. You must be LarIsha, Shay's 'only friend'." LarIsha laughs and nods. "And you must be Window Buddy." "That's me." She laughs again and turns me away. "He's rather charming," she points out. "Are you going for him?" My ears heat up. I snort. "I'm, no. I don't like him like that. Also, Jakey there is kind of creepy with his fangirling." "Jakey?" LarIsha bursts out in laughter. "Oh, I am never letting that one go."
