There are few things
that make me feel as
giddy as inhaling the
freshness of well laid beds,
clean white sheets,
and freshly laundered clothes.

the warmth of love,
the richness of laughter,
and the joy of contentment.

HOME MADE MEALS

Even in the simplest
of meals, the sincerity of
my mother’s love still
shines through her cooking
hands.

VISITORS

And many a guest will attest to
the fact that a greeting laced with
kindness, a warm plate of food,
and a cozy spot to sleep,
is all the magic that makes
the best of hosts.

MORNINGS LIKE THESE

Every other morning,
she rises with a platter
of incense in hand.

Sifting through white curtains
that veil pots of flowers
adorning her view,

she lets the first rays in with a
smile on her face.

When her home is filled with
all the freshness she and the sun
could possibly give,

She curls up on her favorite spot
under her duvet,

with a mug of hot chocolate
and her book of poems in hand.
