Spirituality
Sitting there on the floor
Feeling as though my mind
Has opened to channel in the thoughts of G-d
~Hearing whispers from behind
But alas, there is no one there
~Tasting something strange in the air
~Smelling the pure scent of mystical wonders
~Seeing universal shapes and lights
Spark a vision of beauty and power
The sixth sense travels through my body
Opening passage ways
To the psychic energy of this world
And the heavenly afterlife beyond
Old souls seek spirituality
From the other world of their dreams
Where poltergeists and psychogeists
Whirl around in their smoky presence
Where nothing is as it seems
Can you feel it?
SHE connected to the world of spirit through meditation and dreams. Other than past lives, SHE was shown what the "Other Side" looked like and that death wasn't as final as everyone thought and believed. SHE had witnessed the death or the dying of someone close to her when SHE was only in high school. It was a close friend of the family that was diagnosed very late with cancer and mistreated by the doctors. When SHE saw the friend who SHE always saw as more like an aunt to her a few days before her death, the woman was unrecognizable.
So when it was time for the funeral and they placed the casket into the earth and SHE took a shovel and—per Jewish customs—placed three shovels-worth of earth on top, SHE knew that SHE wasn't laying her "Aunt" Jane into the ground as worm food. She was in a higher and better place; her Aunt Jane was on the "Other Side" and she'd been there since she had taken her last breath.
Angels were magical beings; non-corporeal in nature or at least not the way they showed themselves to her. The "Other Side" was a place that was unexplainable because there weren't enough words in any language to describe it other than infinite and eternal. Ironically, her first inclination into what that world was like came from the shows "Touched by An Angel" and "Unsolved Mysteries" or "UM" for short as well as from the movie "The Craft". Though many things were left to be deciphered by the viewer, the ideas and seeds of possibility were planted.
SHE loved "UM" though the host Robert Stack and the music creeped her out a bit.
SHE also felt that when SHE watched "UM" in particular, her highly in-tuned sensitivity would increase the possibility of the interaction or presence of spirits from the other realm. SHE had learned a long time before that nothing was impossible. The beauty of the "Other Side" was unparalled and SHE could feel herself connected with past family members as well as seeing the whole universe and many different landscapes all at the same time. It was because her vision which could only go 180 degrees on earth with peripherals, there could do all 360 and more. There weren't any limits on anything.
SHE had several encounters with spirits within her home. Her home was only 20 something years old at the time when most of those occurred and when her parents first bought the place, SHE herself asked their real estate agent if anyone had died there, because though SHE was highly sensitive, SHE didn't want to deal with some unhappy earthbound spirit who was attached to the place; SHE was after all only about 15 years old at the time. Thankfully, the real estate lady said no.
There was a common misconception that all spirits come forth only at night and that wasn't true. Her most memorable experiences for the most part were during the day and while SHE was in college as SHE felt most open to things while going there. SHE was a commuter which meant SHE didn't live on campus but at home and traveled to and from school each day or whenever she had classes. SHE never studied abroad doing her undergraduate degree either.
One of the first things SHE recalled seeing was the shape of a baby floating in her bedroom at night. SHE instinctively knew it was a baby boy but who he was or why he was there remained a mystery as did most of the other appearances. Very rarely did the same spirit manifest itself more than once to her. But SHE did wish many a time that SHE could know who or what it was and what it wanted other than just being there.
Next there was the orb of energy in the home office near the ceiling. SHE was talking online with a friend from college who was also in-tuned with the paranormal and their conversation that evening was about past lives that will be discussed in a story down the road. The ball of energy appeared out of nowhere and wasn't or didn't appear to be malevolent in nature but was just hovering near the ceiling of the room giving off green and red lightening type bolts. As SHE explained what was happening in the home office, to her friend, the ball of energy vanished never to be seen again. Perhaps it had something to do with the conversation the girls were having.
Another time, SHE was home from school, cleaning the house and her parents were at work. It was a bright and sunny day as SHE stood on the second floor putting clothing away. SHE happened to glance into her room and saw a woman with blonde hair in a long white dress float across her bedroom floor. This wasn't really a peripheral vision type thing but almost entirely straight ahead. SHE walked into her room slowly, though SHE wasn't afraid and glanced around but found no one and nothing. SHE shrugged and continued cleaning.
About 45 minutes or so later, SHE came downstairs and was putting the shoes away when in her near peripheral vision SHE saw a tall man standing in the kitchen wearing brown clothing and a black hat. He was staring at her rather menacingly as if to stare her down. When SHE blinked, he was gone. SHE looked all around the kitchen, dining room as well as living room areas, and even checked the deck and back yard but again found nothing. SHE then looked up into thin air and said:
"Look if you guys want to give me a message, I'm all ears. Otherwise....do you mind? I'm trying to clean here!"
No one responded to her sarcastic albeit exasperated question and the house was quiet; SHE was alone. Oh well, SHE figured they'd changed their minds. It was all second nature to her as long as they weren't malevolent.
When they got their adorable mini-poodle at 7 weeks old just before New Year's Eve one year, they tried to at first train him to sleep in his crate in the kitchen. That was not to be as he moved into the master bedroom soon after claiming it as his own; no muss no fuss. But that wasn't what got her attention. SHE had played music on her old CD player that lived in the dining room and had forgotten to turn it off completely before heading to bed one night. The red button was still on and glowed in the dark. Because her house was very modern and open, one could see most of the dining and living room areas from the second floor.
SHE was headed to the bathroom during the night which was right next door to her bedroom and stopped as SHE saw the glowing red light remembering that SHE had forgotten to switch it off. From the left side, a white mist developed out of nowhere and moved to the right. It drifted in front of the little red light on the CD player, completely blocking out the glow and moved through the swinging door into the kitchen where the puppy slept. He made a little barking noise so SHE knew he felt something in the air but was soon quiet again so he hadn't even been fully awakened and the mist wasn't evil in anyway; it was just passing through.
It was interesting to see a white mist in near total darkness manifest and block out the little red light on the old boombox. Though there was a full moon outside without any clouds and it lit up the living room through the skylight, there wasn't any way it could reach into the dining room no matter what angle the moon was positioned in the sky, so the mysterious mist couldn't be debunked.
Lastly, came the time when a friend of her mother's had trapped a spirit in her room. The woman was a fake. The woman only knew of the paranormal from the books she read and though her claim to fame so to speak was reading cards, the woman tried to cleanse the house while visiting the old fashioned way. SHE and her family were originally from Eastern Europe and the woman was as well. Back there cleansing the house meant using a golden chain and ring. The woman walked from room to room doing her ritual. But SHE felt something was off from the whole thing and it didn't take long for that to manifest itself. The woman soon after went home.
That night, the dreams began. A man with red hair would leap out from underneath her bed screaming:
"Get me out of here!"
"What am I doing here?"
"Help me!"
Over and over again. That first night SHE woke up with a start wondering what was going on. The dream persisted for a week straight until SHE was almost 100% certain there was a spirit of a man trapped in her bedroom. It was time to get him out, so SHE took something out of her closet that SHE very seldom used unless absolutely necessary; her Ouija board. SHE knew that that board could be very harmful if one didn't know how to use it properly and most importantly; rarely. Only through it could SHE find out what the hell was going on and who the red-haired man was.
SHE lit candles all around the room. SHE then placed the Ouija board on the floor in the middle of the room and put four candles down in a north, south, east, and west pattern. SHE lit them in that direction too but only after the rest of the candles were lit, SHE said a prayer about safety as well as asking that spirit and only him to come forth. As SHE sat cross-legged on the floor in the compass-like circle, in a corner where SHE had suspected the spirit to be trapped, the candle flame went up about 5 to 7 inches into the air and SHE hadn't even started asking questions; solid proof of her instinct.
SHE started her questions then and put her fingers gently on the token that came with the Ouija board as it moved completely on its own around the board. SHE soon found out the man's name, age, where he was from, and how he died. After that SHE released him to go into the light which he did and the flame settled back to where it was supposed to be only slightly flickering. SHE closed the session and said another little prayer as SHE blew out her candles in reverse or west, east, south, north and again only after the rest of the room's candles were blown out. It's something SHE learned how to do on her own.
The following day, SHE did some research and sure enough a man with the same name, age, had died in a car accident in the same town in the state of Connecticut a week before and the same day the dreams started. According to the article, the most stand out thing about the man was that he had red hair! And SHE had no more dreams of him after that.
