"You wouldn't shoot us." Emily states with a broad voice.
She straitens her back and I look over at Harry from the corner of my eye and he's watching me intently.
"Try me." I say rising to my feet and I look down at Damon who's eyes are slowly closing.

"Keep breathing D." I mumble down, still keeping an eye on Emily.
"I'm trying baby girl. But I don't think I'm going to pull through." He breathes and I blink away the tears.

"Don't say things like that." I quickly hiss and look down at him.

But all he does is smile.

"Em, get mom here now." I growl.

"Don't you just want to see Blaine, Haley, Cody and Patrick?" She asks and I shake my head.
I didn't care about my other siblings at this point.
"Mom. Now." I growl and I hear car tires screeching nearby.

I turn my head to see a black car pull up the curb and watch as my older brother steps out of the drivers seat with a black jacket on.
He rubs his shaven chin and his piercing eyes instantly make contact with mine.

"Oh, good, you made it." He says with a smile and I stiffen and swallow hard.

"Keegan what the hell is going on? Why did Damon get hurt for this?" I ask and he motions for me to put the gun down and I continue to keep my stance.

I wasn't an idiot.

"Smart girl. Now put the gun down so I can explain." He says calmly.

I look over at Harry and the at Emily before slowly putting the gun down.

"Talk." I spat harshly, rolling my tongue over the top row my teeth.

"You should know how our family works Rose or should I call you Aries. Clever name by the way." He says and I roll my eyes.

"Get to it." I groan, rubbing my forehead. 

"It's a system Rose. We do everything for a reason. Damon is a catalyst in this situation. He was working against us just to save you. We found that out from his little Dr. Friend." He says and I squint.
"The one who gave me the pregnancy test?" I ask and he nods.

"We need him out the way just in case he tried to do something after you came back home."

I swallow for a moment and close my eyes for a moment.

I couldn't even say the name.

"And...Raphael?" I ask in a hushed tone and Keegan looks over at Brooke.
"Your heart is way too tainted for a man like him. He was just in the way." She says and I look down at the ground, searching for an answer, an explanation.
Or something.

"Black rose." I whisper and Keegan nods.

"Of course with your love struck mind, you were thinking all poetic. But we were talking about you Roselyn. Your heart. Just you in general." Harry says and I frown.

Was I really dark?
Was I really evil?

"I don't have anything anymore." I whisper and Keegan smiles.

"You had everything when you lived with us." Emily says with a shrug.

"No. No I didn't. We didn't. Mom and dad made us steal when we were only 5. They made us lie and cheat and hurt. Cody made his first murder when he was 12. Haley started prostitution when she was 15. And you Keegan....got away with a double homicide." I whisper and Keegan shrugs as if he is accomplished.

"But we had everything we ever wanted."
"That's what you were afraid of, not having anything? We could have had it that right way, if you had just followed what I said. The plan would have worked." I complained. 

"What was the plan?" Brooke asked.

"Miranda Glacier was killed the night I was supposing murdered. Miranda got her last name from her mothers maiden name because her faster refused to claim her.
That night we were supposed to burn their house down and get their fortune in return." I explain to her and Emily clears her throat.

"But Roselyn's dumb ass came to us the night before saying we should run away. We should burn down our house instead so everyone would think we were dead and start a new life with new names." She says and I scowl at her.

"It could've worked! It worked for me!" I point out and Keegan shakes his head.

"Look at us now though Rose. We have money. We have everything we could've needed. We paid off all our debts. Paid off our warrants to let us go and bailed out every time. Our family is at the top- it could've been you Roselyn! You could have went to that dancing school you always rambled about." Keegan exclaims at me.

How dare he bring that up? Right now, at this moment.

I've always wanted to just dance.

"And don't say you did it the right way because yeah you ended up dancing alright. At a damn strip club!" Emily says and suddenly I feel like I'm being Ganged up on by my own siblings.

Like we're fighting over the last cookie or something.

They're frowning down upon me when the situation should be in reverse.

"You left us there. Mom and dad were floored and devastated. 
We only did those things so we could have." Emily says.

What is that I see? Tears in her eyes? Is she crying?

Suddenly the situation is over us, beyond our reach.

"Did you really have to kill? Someone you were in love with Emily?" I ask, referring to Raphael and she shakes her head.

"I only did it for money."

"Where's everyone else?" I suddenly ask.
"Cody and Blaine are with mom and Haley is back at the house with dad." Emily whispers and I feel the nerve to drop the gun an just give up.

They had...now why couldn't I?


"Drop the gun Rose." Keegan suddenly says and I stare at him.

And toss the gun to the ground.

I gave up. They won.

Keegan looks down at his phone for a moment and backed away, quickly turning on his heel and running back to his car.

Then he drives away!

What the hell?

I look over at Emily who frowns and turns around the corner and begins running away.

When one Merchant runs, all the Merchants follow.

I look over and see Harry running away and I frown and watch as Brooke backs away.

What was happening?

I take that time to fall to my knees and look over at Damon. "Damon?" I whisper and he opens his eyes wearily. "Yeah?" He whispers and I rub his face. It was so hard seeing him like this. "How you holding up ace?" I ask and he smiles.

"Pretty good. I'm gonna make it." He says with a shrug.

"I know you are." I whisper as a tears slip down my cheeks.

"Little minx?" He asks and I giggle softly. Same old typical Damon. I'm glad that's one thing that didnt change.

"Don't cry. Cause if you do, I'm gonna cry and we both know how that's going to go." He says and I smile but I still cant deny how I felt. 

"Aries?" He calls and I mumble a noise to signal that I was listening. "Did you take those pills the doctor gave you?" He asks me and I shake my head no, recalling the bottle to still be in the living room at Aaron's house. "They found out I was working against them because I found out those pills had traces of Heroin in them." He whispers.

I felt sick to my stomach, that could have been me instantly. I feel a lump form in the back of my throat and I pull my sleeves down. "It doesnt matter now." I say and lean down to hug him and suddenly I hear police sirens.

I look around and see seven police cars pull up the curb into the alley way, Damon and I laid.

"Step away from the man and put your hands on the ground." A police officer suddenly says, pointing his gun at me,

I glance over at Damon who is just as surprised as I am. Suddenly this moment feels all too surreal, I hesitantly walk away and put my hands down and look up. "I didnt do anything." I whisper and I see an ambulance pull up.

"Roselyn Merchant, you are under arrest for, stolen merchandise, arson, the possession of Heroin,  possession of a weapon without a permit and for the attempt to murder. You have the right to remain silent, anything you will say will be held against you." He continues to babble as my mouth suddenly goes blank.

I was just set up. By my own family.

I couldnt deny any of it because it was all right there in my face, Damon stares at me and we both know there's nothing we can say.

My past finally caught up with me.
