she lays in her bed at night. cat snuggled up at her side already asleep. she envies the cat for awhile. no worries, loved, short life span, sleeps all day. she tries to close her eyes and let sleep take her.

she hears nothing but the rumble of the fan and her cats purrs.

she doesn't want to open her eyes cause she knows what will happen.

but she does.

they lie, people do. because her tears didn't come down like drizzle.

one drop. two drop. three drop.

no. they came out like a thunderstorm.

like an erupted volcano, spewing out of her eyes.

she chokes back a sob and her cat stirs next to her.

the tears come down, rushing like a water fall soaking her pillow.

she lets out a sob. her cat wakes up.

she closes her eyes as the cat licks her tears away. she cuddles her close to her chest and she curls up.

she opens her eyes and looks up at her ceiling. tears streaming down her face. she feels like she's out of breathe. she wants nothing more then to close her eyes and never wake up.

more tears and choked back sobs she falls asleep without ease.

she knows she'll have to do it again another day.
