Cold Blood

"Don't you come near me with that." Amy screeched.

"From the clothing, the human female appears to be more resistant to the cold than the male." The male homo-reptilia eyed Amy.

"I'm dressed for Rio!" Amy screeched.

"Leave her alone." Mo shouted. "You've got me."

Amy winced against her clamped wrist as she lay on the slightly tilted upright table. "Decontamination complete. Commencing dissection."

"Area Seventeen incursion. Species diagnostic requested." A voice through a speaker announced. "Area Seventeen incursion. Species diagnostic requested." The green creature then ran out to see what was going on.

"Yeah. And stay out." Amy shouted then grinned pressing the button on the remote to free herself and then Mo.

"How did you get that?" Mo questioned.

"You never picked a lizard man's pocket? Come on, before he gets back, time to find the Stone."

---------------------------------------------------------

The Stone winced hearing the cries of the Doctor as she awoke. She managed to escape before running into a group of the homo-reptilia carrying the Doctor and Nasreen before she was gassed guessing it was the same way they were captured.

"Doctor!" The Stone shouted seeing him wriggle around in pain. "No stop!" The Time Lady screamed slamming her hands trying to free herself from her clamped wrists. "You're hurting him!"

"How can they have escaped?" One of the homo-reptilia hissed ignoring the blonde. "This proves all prisoners should remain under military guard."

"I'm sure you'd prefer to be in charge of everything and everyone, Restac, but we rank the same." The one in the lab coat reminded. "Is there any word from Alaya?"

"No," Restac replied.

"It's fine to show concern, you know. She's part of your gene-chain. I'm decontaminating now."

"Decontamination?" The Time Lords repeated horror in their eyes. "No, no, no!" The Doctor shouted screaming in more pain.

"No!" The Stone cried out. "Stop!" She thrashed her arms. "You can't!"

"No!" The Doctor shouted.

"It's all right, it won't harm you. I'm only neutralising all your ape bacteria."

"He's not an ape!" The Stone shouted. "Neither of us are!"

"Look at the scans." The Doctor said through his cries of pain. "Two hearts. Totally different. Totally not ape! Remove all human germs, you remove half the things keeping us alive."

The Homo-reptilia's eyes widened when he checked the scans, neither of them, were lying. Instantly he turned off the decontamination while Restac shouted in protest. "No, complete the process."

"Oh, that's much better, thanks." The Doctor panted making the Stone sigh out of relief that he was okay yet wishing she could give him a large hug. "Not got any celery, have you?"

"I'll get you all the celery you want when this is over." The Stone said feeling tears prick her eyes knowing just how dangerous removing that bacteria could have been.

"No. No, not really the climate." He shook his head and looked at the homo-reptilia. "Tomatoes, though. You'd do a roaring trade in those. I'm the Doctor." He smiled. "This is my wife, the Stone."

"Hello!" The Time Lady beamed. "Thank you for not killing him. Oh, and there's Nasreen." She slowly nodded.

Nasreen then woke up to see the male homo-reptilia staring at her. "Oh, a green man." She said lightly terrified as the homo-reptilia shone a device at her eye slowly pulling it away.

"Hello." The Doctor nodded at Restac. "Who are you?"

"Restac, Military commander."

"Oh dear..." the Stone sighed. "Why is there always a military." She shook her head. "Why does it always come down to guns and death..."

"Your weapon was attacking the oxygen pockets above our city." The male stated.

"Oxygen pockets, lovely." The Doctor smiled.

"But not so good with an impending drill..." The Stone muttered slowly nodding.

"Yeah... Now it makes sense." The Doctor agreed, nodding with her.

"Where is the rest of your invasion force?" Restac asked.

"Invasion force." He frowned.

"She thinks you and Nasreen are here to invade..." the Stone frowned knowing that was definitely not the Doctors intention.

"We came for the humans you took, and my wife but she's here now." He grinned. "And to offer the safe return of Alaya. Oh, wait, you and she, what is it, same genetic source?" He raised a brow reading her face like a book. "Of course you're worried, but don't be, she's safe." He reassured.

"You claim to come in peace, but you hold one of us hostage."

"Wait, wait, we all want the same thing here." The Doctor pleaded for them to listen.

"I don't negotiate with apes." Restac hissed. "I'm going to send a clear message to those on the surface."

"What's that?" The Doctor nervously asked.

"Your execution." Restac coldly replied narrowing her eyes at the Time Lords.

"Yes." The Stone winced not liking the idea at all. She only hoped that Amy and Elliot were both okay.

---------------------------------------------------------

"These must be the only ones awake." The Doctor muttered to Nasreen the Stone eyeing Restac leading them in front with Malohkeh the male Homo-Reptilia following with a couple of guards behind them. "The others must still be in hibernation."

"So, why did they go into hibernation in the first place?" Nasreen questioned.

"Their astronomers predicted the planet heading to Earth on a crash course." The Stone explained. "They a built life underground and put themselves to sleep for millennia in order to avert what they thought was the apocalypse."

"When in reality it was the moon coming into alignment with the Earth." The Doctor said rolling his eyes a little only for the Stone to kick his foot making him yelp a little. "Let me guess." He grumbled. "Rude and not ginger."

"You know me so well sweetheart." The Stone grinned. "But yes there was no planet heading towards the Earth, only the moon."

Restac paused turning around. "How can you know that?" Malohkeh asked.

"Long time ago, we met another tribe of Homo Reptilia." The Doctor explained pointing at himself and the Time Lady beside him. "Similar, but not identical."

"Others of our species have survived?" Restac asked.

The Stone swallowed shaking her head. "The humans attacked them. They died. I'm sorry."

Restac narrowed her eyes. "A vermin race." She spat.

---------------------------------------------------------

The Time Lords and Nasreen were led into a large room in the centre and bench along the walls.

"You're not authorised to do this." Malohkeh protested.

"I am authorised to protect the safety of our species while they sleep." Restac hissed.

"Oh, lovely place." The Doctor smiled. "Very gleaming."

"Reminds me of the countless meetings I had with the Time Lords." The Stone grumbled to the Doctor. "Do you have any idea how hard it is to get anyone of them to agree to something?"

"Trust me I know, dear." He nodded remembering so many of the times the Stones own parents disagreed with him, they didn't exactly approve of the pair's friendship at all.

"This is our court and our place of execution." Restec cut in with a mock smile on her face.

"Let them go," Amy warned jumping out and pointing one of the homo-reptilia guns at Restac.

"Amy Pond." The Doctor grinned. "There's a girl to rely on."

"So you don't rely on me?" The Stone raised a brow.

"Of course I do!" He quickly protested. "Your a Time Lady not to mention my wife."

"Nice safe their sweetheart." She grinned.

"Please stop flirting with each other." Amy groaned looking between them before looking back at Restac. "You're covered, both ways, so don't try anything clever, buster."

"Mo." Nasreen smiled seeing him behind her.

"Now let them go, or I shoot." Restac moved toward Amy who then stepped back. "I'm warning you."

Lunging forward Restac grabbed the gun disarming Amy and threw her to the floor.
"Don't you touch her!" The Doctor shouted warningly.

"And you." Restac narrowed her eyes at Mo who handed the gun to the homo-reptilia and raised his hands.

"All right, Restac, you've made your point," Malohkeh whispered to her.

"This is now a military tribunal." Restac narrowed her eyes. "Go back to your laboratory, Malohkeh." They both hissed at each other for a moment.

"This isn't the way," Malohkeh whispered before walking off.

"Prepare them for execution," Restac informed. The homo-reptilia pushed them all towards a pair of columns, Amy and Mo on one and the Doctor in the middle, the Stone on the right of the Doctor and Nasreen on the left.

"Okay, sorry. As rescues go, didn't live up to its potential." Amy apologised.

"We're glad you're okay." The Doctor told her while the Stone tried to poke her head to see Amy only for the shackles to stop her. The Doctor took her hand squeezing gently, he knew the Stone worried about the redhead ever since she was taken. If she went with the Doctor when they left the TARDIS then Amy might have never been taken down into the Earth.

"Me too." Amy nodded. "Lizard men, though."

"Homo Reptilia." The Stone corrected.

"They occupied the planet before humans. Now they want it back." The Doctor added.

"After they've wiped out the human race," Nasreen informed.

"Right." Amy winced. "Preferred it when I didn't know, to be honest."

"Why are they waiting?" Nasreen questioned eyeing the Silurian that, were lined up each of them pointing a gun at one of the humans and the Time Lords. "What do you think they're going to do with us?"

"Alaya is still up with Rory." The Doctor informed. "I'm guessing they want her back."

A hologram appeared just above the entrance. "Who is the ape leader?" Restac called narrowing her eyes at the images of Rory and Mack while Ambrose crouched down a little behind them. "Who speaks for the apes?" She repeated.

Rory swallowed slightly stepping forward." I speak for the humans. Some of us, anyway."

"Do you understand who we are?" She questioned tilting her head at Rory.

"Sort of." He slowly nodded. "A bit." He then shook his head. "Not really."

"We have ape hostages," Restac stated.

"Doctor, Stone!" Rory shouted seeing them both before noticing Amy on the other pillar. "Amy!"

"Mo!" Ambrose leant closer to the screen they were looking at. "Mo, are you okay?"

"I'm fine, love." He smiled. "I've found Elliot. I'm bringing him home."

"Amy, I thought I'd lost you." Rory smiled knowing that she was okay.

"What, cause I was sucked into the ground?" She rolled her eyes. "You're so clingy."

"Tell me about it." The Stone chuckled. "It gets worse when you're married." She glanced at the Doctor who shook his head a little.

"Tony Mack!" Nasreen shouted.

"Having fun down there?"

"Not to interrupt, but just a quick reminder to stay calm." The Doctor cut in looking at Rory and Ambrose knowing just what could happen when threatened against family and loved ones.

"Show me Alaya." Restac ordered. "Show me, and release her immediately unharmed, or we kill your friends. One by one."

Ambrose furrowed her brows. "No."

"Ambrose," Rory warned.

"Steady now, everyone."

"Ambrose, stop it." Tony pulled her back warningly.

"Get off me, Dad." She snapped jerking away from him. The Stone watched tilting her head slightly, she knew the woman cared and worried for her family but why was Restac seeing Alaya an issue? "We didn't start this."

"Ambrose let Rory deal with this." The Stone cut in. "Please."

"We are not doing what you say anymore." Ambrose snapped at Restac completely ignoring the blonde. "Now, give me back my family."

Restac stared at Ambrose for a moment narrowing her eyes. "No." She stared. "Execute the girls."

"No!" Rory shouted seeing the Silurian move toward Amy while the Doctor looked at the Stone in alarm when they moved towards her. "No, wait!"

"Rory!" Amy shouted being shoved forward while they moved towards the Time Lady.

"She's not speaking for us!" Rory shouted.

"There's no need for this." The Doctor cut in pleading the Silurian as they pushed the Stone forward and away from him making him wince in pain when the shackles dug into his hands while he tried to hold onto the Stone.

"Listen, listen." Rory begged. "Whatever you want, we'll do it."

"Aim." Restac ordered the Stone pulled Amy closer trying to protect her as much as possible.

"Amy!"

"Rory!"

"Don't do this!" The Doctor shouted his eyes fixed on the Stone, he was definitely terrified, if she was shot she would definitely regenerate, there was no telling if the Silurian knew what they were.

"No!" Rory shouted as the hologram cut out.

"Fire!"

"Stop!" A voice behind Restac ordered making them all look behind her to see a male Silurian walking in with Malohkeh beside him. "You want to start a war while the rest of us sleep, Restac?"

"The apes are attacking us."

"You're our protector, not our commander, Restac. Unchain them." He ordered.

"I do not recognise your authority at this time, Eldane." She hissed.

"Well then, you must shoot me." He widened his arms while Restac hissed at Eldane's challenge before walking over to Malohkeh.

"You woke him to undermine me." She hissed.

"We're not monsters." He stated glancing at the worried look on Amy's face who leaned closer to the Time Lady. "And neither are they."

"What is it about apes you love so much, hmm?" She narrowed her eyes at him.

"While you slept, they've evolved. I've seen it for myself."

"We used to hunt apes for sport. When we came underground, they bred and polluted this planet." She hissed spitting the words out like poisonous words that could kill in an instant.

"Shush now, Restac." Eldane interrupted making the Silurian step back. "Go and play soldiers. I'll let you know if I need you."

"You'll need me, then we'll see." She glared at him before exiting the room.

The Silurian then unchained the Doctor who quickly moved to stand beside the Time Lady who was freed from her shackles. "You okay Stone?" He worryingly asked.

"I'm fine." She rolled her eyes swatting his hands away when he went to grab her wrists to check if the shackles had left any marks. She instead tightly hugged him.

"Amy are you okay?" The Stone questioned after they separated.

"Happy to not be executed." She nodded.

"That's good." The Doctor nodded. "Ah, Rory is no doubt worried sick." He muttered heading over to fix the hologram.

---------------------------------------------------------

"Rory. Hello." The Doctor brightly smiled.

"Where's Amy?" He questioned before frowning seeing the Stones shoes in the distance.

"She's fine." He nodded moving out the way to see Amy standing beside the Stone who walked forward to stand beside the Doctor. "Look, here, she is."

"Oh, thank God." He breathed leaning forward smiling.

"Keeping you on your toes." Amy laughed.

"Sorry, Rory but we don't have time to chat." The Stone winced knowing that he wanted to talk to her a little more.

"Listen, you need to get down here." The Doctor cut in. "Go to the drill storeroom. There's a large patch of earth in the middle of the floor. The Silurians are going to send up transport discs to bring you back down using geothermal energy and gravity bubble technology. It's how they travel and frankly, it's pretty cool." He grinned the Stone nodded along agreeing that it was very cool and would definitely love to check it out in more detail if her and the Doctors plan went well.

"Bring Alaya." The Stone ordered. "We hand her over, we can all get along brilliantly."

"All going to work, promise." The Doctor grinned. "Got to dash. Hurry up."

---------------------------------------------------------

After having a long conversation with Eldane the Time Lords stood on either side of the large table in the centre, Eldane sitting on one side with Amy and Nasreen sitting opposite. "I'd say you've got a fair bit to talk about." The Doctor nodded at the two sides.

"How so?" Eldane frowned.

"You both want the planet." The Stone answered making the Silurian turn to her.

"You both have a genuine claim to it."

"Are you authorised to negotiate on behalf of humanity?" Eldane looked between the Time Lords leaning against either end of the long table.

"Us?" The Doctor looked at the Time Lady who let out a chuckle shaking her head.

"No." She wished she could but this was their planet they needed to sort this out for themselves, as much as her parents would no doubt approve of what she was saying but also disapprove of her not getting involved in the politics. "But they are."

"What?" Nasreen blinked.

"No, we're not." Amy furiously shook her head at the blonde.

"Course you are." The Doctor grinned. "Amy Pond and Nasreen Chaudhry, speaking for the planet? Humanity couldn't have better ambassadors.

"Come on." The Stone grinned at Amy. "Who has more fun than us?"

"Well, perhaps we do dear." He smirked at the Time Lady.

"There is a time and a place sweetheart." The Stone closed her eyes slowly shaking her head trying to hide the faint blush on her cheeks. "And neither is here."

"Ah yes." He slowly nodded. "Sorry dear."

"Is this what happens, in the future?" Amy piped up jumping from her seat and whispering to the Doctor. "The planet gets shared? Is that what we need to do?"

"Er, what are you talking about?" Nasreen asked standing up.

"Oh Nasreen, sorry." The Stone apologised walking over to the woman. "We tend not to mention that we travel in time." She explained. "The Doctor and I along with Amy and Rory."

"Anything else?" She said blinking a little at how natural the Stone was mentioning this all to her.

"There are fixed points through, time where things must always stay the way they are." The Doctor said choosing his words as carefully as possible, looking at the floor with a guilty look only to look up at the Stone who softly smiled at him gently squeezing his hand knowing that he hated what he did on Mars.

"This is not one of them. This is an opportunity." The Stone smiled at the human women.

"A temporal tipping point. Whatever happens today, will change future events, create its own timeline, its own reality. The future pivots around you, here, now. So do good, for humanity, and for Earth."

"Right." Amy slowly nodded. "No pressure there, then."

"We can't share the planet." Nasreen almost laughed shaking her head. "Nobody on the surface is going to go for this idea. It is just too big a leap."

"Come on." The Stone rolled her eyes.

"Be extraordinary."

"Oh." Nasreen blinked.

"Okay. Bringing things to order." The Doctor nodded. "The first meeting of representatives of the human race and Homo Reptilia is now in session. Ha!" He grinned. "Never said that before. That's fab."

"It definitely is, I hope there are many more meeting to come." She smiled. "Anyways carry on."

"Now, Mo." The Doctor nodded at the man linking his arm with the blonde. "Let's go and get your son." He nodded following Malohkeh out. "Oh, you know, humans, and their predecessors shooting the breeze." He muttered to the Time Lady as they walked out. "Never thought I'd see it."

"Neither did I." She hummed in agreement.

---------------------------------------------------------

"Elliot. There you are." The Doctor whispered looking through the porthole-like window where they were able to see the boy while Malohkeh did the necessary things on the monitor so the boy could be woken up.

"If you've harmed him in any way-" Mo looked at Malohkeh who instantly cut him off.

"Of course not. I only store the young." He reassured.

"But why?" The Doctor questioned.

"I took samples of the young, slowed their lifecycles to a millionth of their normal rate so I could study how they grew, what they needed, how they lived on the surface."

"You've been down here working by yourself, all alone?" The Stone asked feeling sorry for the Silurian for being all alone for all this time.

Malohkeh nodded. "My family, through the millennia, and for the last three hundred years, just me." He looked at Mo apologetically. "I never meant to harm your child."

"Malohkeh, I rather love you." The Doctor grinned bumping his fists with the Silurian.

"I think you mean we sweetheart." The Stone grinned.

"Yes." He nodded. "We."

"It's safe," Malohkeh informed sliding the door open. "We can wake him." He then entered the small area and unhooked the wires from Elliot's face.

"Come." He gestured to Mo who slowly nodded moving to stand in front of Elliot his hands on the boy's shoulders.

"Elliot? Ell, it's Dad."

Elliot blinked looking around for a moment before breaking out in a smile. "Dad!" They tightly hugged.

"You're safe now." No reassured.

"Where are we?" Elliot asked frowning.

"Well, I've got to be honest with you, son." He swallowed. "We're in the centre of the Earth, and there are lizard men."

Elliot's gaze moved past his father to see Malohkeh standing with the Time Lords giving Elliot a wave. "Hi."

"Wow."

"Elliot. I'm sorry." The Stone stepped forward. "I didn't at all think that you would be taken if they were chasing me." She admitted crouching down to his height. "I should have stayed and helped to open the door."

"It's okay." He smiled briefly hugging the blonde. "You only tried to help, I forgive you."

The Time Lady nodded standing up thankful that he did indeed understand that she only tried to help. "You go on, Doctor, Stone," Malohek called. "I'll catch up." The Time Lords nodded heading back towards the court to see how everything was going.

---------------------------------------------------------

"...Okay. Now I'm starting to see it." They heard Nasreen from the court.

"Oh yeah." Amy laughed.

"Not bad for a first session." The Doctor said walking into the court with the Stone, Mo and Elliot behind them. "More similarities than differences."

They then heard a bell go off and looked a. "The transport has returned," Eldane informed. "Your friends are here."
