Chapter 8

"Oh My God," Tallulah's voice echoed around the room. "What the actual crap?"

"Ugh," Willow pulled the comforter up to cover her face. "Who let you in?"

"I have a key, remember?"

"I'm starting to regret giving you a key," Willow's muffled voice came from under the comforter.

"You," Lulu pointed at Bucky, "Out. Now."

Bucky gave where he though Willow's back was under the comforter a reassuring pat, and then exited the room as quickly as possible.

As soon as Bucky was gone, Lulu launched herself towards the bed and pulled the comforter off Willow. "SO?"

"So what?"

 Lulu wiggled her eyebrows suggestively.

"Stop."

"Every time I walk into the apartment I find you two together."

"Well maybe if you knocked like a normal person you wouldn't."

"Just do it already."

"Tallulah, if you continue with that line of thought, I swear I'll murder you."

"Fine. Killjoy."

"What do you want Lulu?"

"I've got some information you'll want to hear," Tallulah said, standing up and heading for the bedroom door, "I'll meet you in the kitchen. Are there adult beverages in your fridge?"

"Yes."

"Excellent."

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ten minutes later Willow and Tallulah were sitting in the kitchen looking over some of the most recent newspapers. Willow had left her cup of coffee untouched; Tallulah was steadily pouring vodka into her own cup of coffee.

Willow looked up, raising an eyebrow at Lulu, "You have a drinking problem."

"It's only a problem if you want to stop. I'm not a drunk, I just need a drink to process all of this bull-crap" Lulu retorted sipping her vodka/coffee mixture.

Willow slammed her fist down angrily on the newspaper she was reading, "This is honestly the most ridiculous thing. I can't believe they haven't found someone else to slander in their freaking paper yet."

The latest headline read 'Captain America: Hero or HYDRA?' Willow's normally calm eyes were clouded with rage. "Bucky is going to be so ticked. I wonder if we should call Steve?"

Lulu reached for Willow's cellphone but stopped when the most undignified shriek sounded from the bathroom, and Bucky practically threw the bathroom door open and tripped into the hall. "What the crap Barnes?"

Willow was already steering her wheelchair towards the bathroom, with Tallulah following her. "Bucky what the heck was that? You sound like a scared school girl."

Bucky grinned sheepishly, and stood up, "Sorry. No big deal, just a massive freaking spider in my towel."

Rolling her eyes, Willow wheeled into the bathroom. A few seconds later there was the sound of Willow smacking something, followed by her calling out, "Fear not Fair Maiden Barnes, I have vanquished the beast."

"I could have killed it, it just shocked me," Bucky protested. "Don't forget I'm a trained assassin."

Tallulah then realized that Bucky was wearing a pair of RavenClaw sweat pants, and didn't have a shirt on. His hair was soaking wet, he must have just jumped out of the shower. Lulu had never seen Bucky without a shirt on before, and her eyes were instantly drawn to the spot where his metal arm had been fused to the flesh. The skin looked inflamed and it was puckered and scarred. When Bucky turned around and headed to his room, Lulu saw that his back was heavily scarred. It almost remind Lulu of the way Willow's back looked in the few times Tallulah had glimpsed in when her friend was in the hospital. Willow's lower back looked like it had been through a cheese shredder; deep slices indicating where the shrapnel had slammed into her back.

Bucky came back with a black t-shirt hanging over his left shoulder, almost like he didn't want to put the shirt on just yet, just wanted to cover up the gruesome area where metal met flesh. Willow wheeld out of the bathroom, unfazed by both Bucky and the spider, and headed back to the kitchen. Lulu winked broadly at Bucky as he walked past her and he rolled his eyes.

Bucky pulled the t-shirt over his head as he sat down, and Lulu whistled, "Don't put that on, on my account."

Willow groaned loudly and planted her face down on one of the newspapers.
