"Gideon, we are here to see Nick," Noah started carefully.

Gideon who was not able to recall this name at the moment asked again, "Who is Nick?"

Getting to his knees Noah signaled for Gideon to come near and when he approached, Noah got his hand over his shoulder before continuing, "Gideon, from now on, Nick will live with us." Noah said and saw nothing in Gideon's expression changing.

"Do you want to say something?" Noah asked,

"No, it is pretty normal. Many live with us already," Knowing Gideon didn't get his meaning Noah tried to come clearer this time.

"Gideon...Nick is not any staff member or one of the kids of the staff. He will be your brother," This time Noah saw something visibly changing in Gideon's eyes. He was neither happy nor mad. He was shocked.

"And, he will be Amber's brother too...I really want your help to make him feel at home." Noah requested and Gideon asked a little lost,

"Forever!"

"Yes, your mom is his mom too," Noah added,

"No,..." Gideon whispered and Noah hugged him tight before adding.

"It is same as Amber having the same mom too," Noah tried to make him understand and rubbed his back.

"Hey, aren't you excited to see him?" Noah asked and Gideon looked at Noah all puzzled.

"I don't know, dad," Gideon said and Noah added,

"Nick, got his leg fractured. I think he will feel good if you pay him a visit," Noah suggested and saw Gideon's eyes go wide.

"But,...I don't have any gift to visit a patient. Plus, I am underdressed." Gideon made his dad look at his clothes.

"You can go and have a bath," Noah said and Gideon was quick to add,

"Can you order some flower or a gift?" Gideon asked and Noah nodded his head in agreement.

Sydney came out to see Noah with a tense face. She was about to ask when Noah said,

"I have told Gideon about Nick..."

"I want to ask you something," Sydney asked,

"What?" Noah answered looking at the door Gideon went to.

"I was about to tell Nick about us? But then I wonder if I can tell him that you are his father." Noah looked at Sydney puzzled while Noah's heartbeat increased too.

"I think,...it makes sense,...do you by any chance know his real father?" Noah asked making Sydney inhale sharp before she lied,

"No,"

"Fine,..." Noah said looking in her eyes but then asked,

"Why are you nervous?"

"I don't know, I guess leaving his home will be the hardest part for him," Sydney shared with misty eyes.

"Don't worry,..." Noah walked to hold her and asked,

"I can come if you want,"

"No, let me deal this alone,..." Sydney exhaled and went into Nick's room again. Noah looked at the door and hoped for Nick to be understanding about the situation too. At least as much as Gideon was.

"Noah, can you come in?" Sydney peeked out of the room after two minutes.

Noah walked into the room to see a black hair kid with brown eyes. The hope in Nick's eyes made Noah feel like a culprit.

"Dad?" Noah heard Nick say and get to sit on the side of his bed before holding his hand.

"Hey, Nick! I hope you are doing great," Listening to his dad's voice made Nick emotional. He was finally looking at his dad or not,...

"Are you my dad?" Nick had to ask.

"...yea," Noah answered and looked at Sydney who seemed to be guilty.

"...where were you all this time?" Nick asked hugging him and Noah hugged him back.

"I was,..." Noah was at the loss of words when Nick added,

"I missed you,..."

"I missed you too," Noah said but looked at Sydney. Sydney could see the regret in his eyes. She knew Noah never wanted to lie but he did it for her.

"Will you stay with us?" Nick asked and Noah hated to break his dream.

"Nick,...I am here to take you with me," Noah told him carefully.

"And, mom?"

"Mom will stay with us too?" Nick asked scared.

"Yes, you, your mom, me, Gideon, and Amber, we all will live together." Noah and Sydney feared his reaction.

"Who are they?" Nick asked knitting his brows.

"They are my kids too...your siblings." Noah felt something stuck in his throat.

"Mom...never talked about them," Nick asked but before Noah could reply all of them hear a melodious voice.

"Daddy?" All of them looked at the door to notice a small Amber.

"I know you,...what happened to your leg?" Amber said looking at him but then looking at Nick's leg she questioned louder.

"Hey, Amber?... This is Nick. He will live with us. Would you like to be friends with him?... Nick?... She is Amber," Noah looked form Amber to Nick and then back to Amber.

"I would love to," Amber said in her cheerful voice.

Gideon came out from his bath and worked alone with his get up before coming out of the room. On his left he found his mother and father working in the kitchen.

"Hey honey," Sydney come out to kiss him good morning and couldn't help asking while setting his tie.

"For what you are so ready?"

Gideon looked at his father while his mother set his hair. "I am to see the new addition in our family," Gideon said and Sydney didn't know what to say when Noah arrived with a small bouquet in his hands.

"Here you go," Noah handed him flowers and Gideon walked into the room to notice Amber using a green marker on a boy's cast. He wanted to tell Amber that she can't be here with such messy hair and face but he avoided saying anything to her.

Nick saw Gideon and had mixed feelings. The first thing Nick thought about was how he was so different from them. Both kids were honey-blonde while he had black hair like his mother.

"Hello," Gideon said and Nick replied after a few seconds.

"Hi,"

Noah helped Nick to get to the small dining table. "It is heavy," Nick complained about his cast while Sydney served the food.

"What happened to your leg?" Gideon asked,

"I was saving a bee princess,...some people were picking on her and,..." Nick was excited to share the news when Sydney cut him off.

"Nick," Sydney warned him and Nick went silent.

"Why he can't tell?" Amber asked,

"Tell me, Gideon. If someone is in trouble in your school what will you do?" Nick asked Gideon.

"I will ask them to stop doing that,..." Gideon replied setting his spectacles over his nose bridge.

"I did the same," Nick replied looking at his mom.

"And, what will you do if they don't agree?" Nick asked still looking at his mom.

"They will do. I always offer expensive gifts to my school kids on their birthdays." Gideon replied but was met with a burst of a laugh from Nick.

"Welcome to the family," Noah said not to anyone in particular.

"It is going to be boring," Nick whispered under his breath but found Sydney looking at him.

Nick didn't want to leave Abbey but Sydney told him that there is nothing they can do about it, while Gideon and Amber commented that he shouldn't worry as they own a plane.

Nick could see that Gideon and Amber were rich and boring kids. They had the solution to almost everything with their money. The only thing that kept him at ease was the fact that he had a dad who looks nothing like him but he was handsome and exactly how he imagined his father, a tall man in a formal suit who seems serious but talks softly. This is how he had drawn him in the paintings he never showed to his mother because he knew asking about dad makes mother sad. Nick saw his mom packing while Gideon kept telling Amber what to do and what to not.

For Nick the flight was amazing and Gideon shared his game with him before dozing off. The game didn't interest Nick much so he browsed Gideon's phone. He found that apps on his cellphone were cool and there were a lot of pictures.

Nick wondered why his mom and he were not living with dad too like Abbey's parents. Like, all the other people's parents. He looked at his left to notice his dad busy on his laptop while Sydney and Amber were sleeping too.

"Do you want anything?" Nick startled when Noah asked him without lifting his eyes from his laptop.

"No..." Nick answered.

Inhaling sharp Noah added this time looking at him.

"You know you can talk about anything with me," Noah told,

"Do you want to know what happened at school?" Nick asked,

"All the details," Noah whispered back with very much interest making Nick's smile go wide before he filled Noah in.

The moment their flight landed, Nick was beyond excited. His dad was cool and now they shared a secret that was not to be told to mom.

Nick loved the place but noticed his father was a busy man. Nick was bored as the automatic wheelchair or his dad's arms were the only things he can have to get around. He was happy that his mom took leaves from her office to take care of him.

The moment Gideon and Amber talk about something, the only thing Nick noticed about them was money.

Nick smiled whenever his dad talked to him but whenever Amber and Gideon talk to him it made him awkward. Kids were good with him but he was bored how these two think everything revolves around them and most of the time they couldn't get Nick's joke.

Noah promised him to get him the same cellphone as Gideon in the next weekend as this weekend Gideon and Amber were going to get their rooms renovated.

Abbey and Nick face time very often. Even Gideon and Amber now knew Abbey. Every night before going to sleep he was happy looking at his mom and dad both. Nick missed his friends a lot but knowing that Gideon and Amber left all of their friends recently too made this whole situation a little less sad.

One day when they all were having dinner, Sydney and Noah talk about going to a party. Gideon and Amber were talking about what they will wear in excitement when Nick commented, "I won't go,"

"Why? Honey..." Sydney asked with concern in her voice.

"I won't feel good with this cast...I will play games at home...Don't worry about me,..."

"Then, I won't go too,..." Amber cut Nick off,

"I will stay too,..." Gideon started but Noah was quick to cut it.

"All of you will come. Mrs. Benz has invited us all,..." Noah wanted to say more but Amber's pout made him stop.

"I love her too dad,...But she will understand. If not, I can call her." Amber told Noah.

"And, she throws parties all the time. What is very special about this one?" Gideon asked.

"Why don't we let them stay at home, Noah? Maybe some other time all of them can accompany us," Sydney asked and Noah gives in looking at the four pair of eyes before saying, "Fine,"

"Noah, do you think we are doing alright?" Sydney whispered against his chest while Noah roamed his hand in her hair.

"I think we are doing great." This made Sydney inhale sharp before she allowed herself to sleep.

The next day, Sydney got ready for the party and waited for Noah all the while doing a walk for her kids in her closet. She tried all the dresses her kids told her to try before she slipped in the one she decided for the party tonight.

Noah and Sydney bid their farewell to the kids who were playing video games.

But to Sandra and Butler Sydney instructed, "No one is allowed in the house until our return," Both nodded their head but Noah couldn't help asking after he ordered his driver to drive.

"Why you would do that...they know everyone. They won't allow just anybody." In return, Sydney only offered him a small smile.

"Oh, you won't get a mother's heart," Sydney added with a little tense face.

"Is everything alright?" Noah asked,

"Yea, I am fine," Sydney replied with a half-smile.

The venue for the party was amazing. Mr. and Mrs. Miller met a lot of people. Grace and Michael were there too. Sydney tried to change Noah's mind but he was still pissed. Sydney did excuse herself to talk to Grace and Michael and asked about their kids and told them about Gideon and Amber too.

"Sydney," Noah appeared soon and glared at Michael and Grace. Sydney had to leave them. But she promised to talk to Noah and do everything in her capacity to convince Noah and make things normal again.

"Sydney? Here, is Mr. Benz." Noah introduced her to Mr. Benz who seemed to be quite cheerful.

"I have heard a lot about you," Sydney said for the sake of saying something.

"Well, in my place it is always about your kids. It is a pleasure to finally see you," This made something turn in Sydney's stomach.

"I can't see Mrs. Benz anywhere?" Sydney asked with a pressed smile.

"She got to see Amber and Gideon the moment she came to know they haven't come...you see,..."

"What?" Sydney's voice came out louder than necessary.

"She bought some gifts for them and she had to give them..." Mr. Benz tried to explain.

"...leaving her party,..." Sydney asked before whispering.

"We need to get to our place,"

"Stop it, Sydney. There is nothing to worry about." Noah tried to smile and relax her shoulder while Mr. Benz passed Noah and Sydney a very puzzled look.

Sydney passed a disappointed look to Noah before walking to the exit leaving Noah shocked.
