Her little wonders

But a moment before Sydney could get inside the door she was pulled back with a force.

A hand on her mouth muffled her cries as she saw herself being dragged into the adjacent room, "Mrs. Miller, this is me." Listening to Jasper's voice she sighed and turned to complain, "They killed Noah. Jasper! They took my babies away." She was about to get to the door again when Jasper said,

"Mrs. Miller? I didn't know that you give birth." She could see Jasper was disappointed with the news. "You must come with me now. I promise to take your kids..."

"How could you?" Sydney made him lose his hold on her arm.

"I will never leave without my babies," Sydney seethed,

"We don't know if,...you must come with us," Jasper pleaded this time making her see another man in the room.

"I won't,...they are alive,...they are here." She tried to get away but when Jasper pulled her arm again she ordered, "Let me go."

"No...I will go to them. And, you will leave with Levi this instant," Jasper said and seemed not to be in the mood of negotiation.

"I will wait," Sydney added in a hurry. Knowing she won't agree with him, Jasper huffed and ordered Levi. "Get her out of here if we don't return in ten minutes," This made Sydney nodded her head as she started waiting for her kids with her shivering hands. She knew it won't take Jasper long. The room was right beside her.

It has been two days since she last saw of them and wondered if they were fine. The impatience got the best of her and she was about to get to the door when Levi said, "We need to get out of here,"

"Go and get my babies," Sydney ordered back.

"Mrs. Miller, Jasper has some men with him. He will be alright. We need to get out of here." Levi gives importance at the last sentence and carefully approached her while Sydney with wary eyes held the handle of the door with determination.

But soon she gasped with guns blazing but Levi was quick to jump over her and pull her to the closet. The closet was long but empty. She hiccuped when everything went silent and tried to listen to anything from the baby monitor.

"Mrs. Miller, we need to leave. They are professional. They won't let you down." Levi seemed to be tense.

"I can't hear anything." She asked him extending the baby monitor.

"They must have been saved." She could see how Levi was indifferent to her matter. Not wasting a minute she tried to get out of the closet but Levi was quick to get to the door first.

"I will go and have a look but...I am going to close this door...For your kids' sake don't get out of here." Levi who seemed to be around in his early twenties requested her.

Sydney sank beside the door and felt more hopeless. Only if this door was unlocked she could have a look at her kids. Gulping hard she hears to the monitor. Her heart skipped a beat when she found someone's presence in her kids' room but soon it went silent again.

She heard the guns firing again in the baby monitor but it went silent again.

Oh please, save my kids. Please, God,..."

She tried to calm her heartbeat to listen to any sound but nothing came. Leaning to the wall she gives in to her exhaustion and lost the sense of time. But the moment she heard to her baby cries her heart dropped. She knew they weren't saved and banged on the door loud.

"Open this door!" She cried out loud banging at the door while the cries of the babies made her even more impatient. Are they hungry? Are they hurt?

All kind of assumption ran in her mind until one voice froze her.
"Hello pretty," She knew he was talking to her.

"Leave them Lucifer,... LEAVE THEM," She cried out her lungs but realized he can't hear her and banged on the door louder.

"You should haven't tried to be smart,..." She gasped and listen to him talking.

"You won't be mine until they don't cease to exist...."
"No, no, no, no,..." She couldn't focus on what he was saying but listen to hear babies crying. Crying to be saved. Crying for their mother.

But the only thing that followed was two shots before she fell onto the floor lifeless.

She woke up into Lucifer's room. Her body felt weak and her throat stung. But the moment she recalled the events she sprinted out of the bed to find the door locked.

"Lucifer!" She roared out of the window and soon hear the door open. Looking up she found a creepy smile on his mouth as he asked,

"I hope you rested well,"
The lava inside Sydney busted in her eyes as she charged with her fragile hands.
"I will kill you," She roared as she punched him and pull his shirt to let his button flew away. He only hissed when she dug her nails in his neck and got slapped by him to fell on the floor.

"Are you so eager to see your kids? Come on, you should see them for the last time. Don't you?" Lucifer said and Sydney shook her head in no.

"I won't," She whispered and scooted away.
"Don't do this. You are the reason that they were here in this world." He said coming down slowly to hold her shoulder but she was quick to crawl away looking right into his creepy eyes. A gasp escaped her mouth when her hand touched something hot. Looking at her left she found a red hot fire poker.

Looking at her wincing and shaking her hand he asked, "Did my Goddess hurt herself?"

Sydney looked at him with eyes full of rage before picking the rod and hitting right into his head with all the strength she could muster. She heard him groan and fell to the ground but run for her life. She barely took a few steps when the realization hit her. For what she was running away?

The ripples of pain from her hand full of blister made her shook with agony. She took steps towards the same room where her babies were supposed to be. But entering she found a messed up room with a trail of dried blood on the floor and gunshots on the wall. Two cribs were still there but empty.

Her heart sank into the void as she kept staring at the blood. "No, no, no,...please, no,...not my babies,...NO!!!" Her knees hit the ground as she let out a painful cry.

"Sydney,...Sydney,..." Noah tried to wake her up as she kept on sobbing in her sleep.

"You two out,...I will wake mama up," Noah gestured the scared Amber who came wearing her favorite fur coat to see her mom while Gideon bought a gift.

"My babies,..." Noah shook her vigorously to wake her up and the moment he saw her eyes a little sober she hugged him.

"Noah! They killed my babies. They killed my babies, Noah." She sobbed into his chest while Noah held her tenderly.

"They are fine,...Sydney. Stop crying it was just a nightmare." Noah said and Sydney took notice of her surroundings.

"How did you get here?" Sydney asked with her eyes narrowed.

"Kids were horrified believing you left them. I couldn't see them sad." Noah explained and Sydney looked around to find no one.

"You were sobbing in your sleep. So, I told them to wait outside," Noah explained looking at her wandering eyes.

"I am sorry," Sydney whispered listening to this and tried to wipe her eyes. Glancing at the clock informed her it was 3 am at night.

"You,...it is quite late and you made them took the flight?" Sydney asked getting out of her bed while Noah got his eyes wide. "Isn't it good? You can't live without them for a night,"

Sydney came out to find Gideon lying on the Sofa while Amber was sitting on the sofa with a little pout on her face.

"Who is this prettiest girl?" Sydney asked with a smile and Amber looked up with a shy smile before running to her mom while Gideon rubbed his eyes before walking to Sydney too.

"I thought you left us again," Gideon complained in a little cracked voice but Sydney was quick to get on her knees and held them both to her chest. She was indeed guilty of letting her kids live all by themselves for all this time. But only for once, she let go of the guilt and let herself feel the bliss of her kids' hold around her.

"I will never leave you, I promise," Sydney said before kissing Gideon and looked at Amber to compliment her look once again.

"I bought a tiffany for you," Gideon showed her a box wrapped in a white gift paper.

"Thank you so much." Sydney offered a smile and heard Amber's stomach rumbling, "Are you two hungry?" Sydney asked and heard Noah complaining form behind.

"Why you think I had to take them here?" Noah gestured and Sydney looked at them with disappointment. "You two will never do it again," Sydney warned and kids nodded with a mischievous smile making Sydney huff before she got to the kitchen only to realize she had nothing good as her kids' taste.

"I can set you two some sandwiches," Sydney offered and kids were quick to take their seats beside the kitchen counter.

"Your kitchen is small," Amber commented,

"But cute..." Gideon corrected,

"I should have not said it right?" Amber asked Gideon and Sydney smiled.

The kids were soon sleepy and Sydney put them on her bed and hummed a lullaby. Noah came in to notice Sydney asleep between her kids and passed on the couch.

Sydney woke up looking to Amber's beautiful face and smiled. Her arm felt numb and she could feel Gideon sleeping with her too and wondered why Noah didn't wake her up. It was six in the morning and no matter how she tried to get up she couldn't.

"Need some help," Noah asked standing in the doorframe.

"Why you were looking at us?" Sydney asked while Noah got Amber a little to the side and signaled her to get out,

"She is a heavy sleeper. Don't worry." Noah told her while Sydney got out and looked at her little wonders.

"They are amazing," Sydney whispered and Noah kissed her head holding her shoulder before asking, "Your shoulders are tense."

"I am fine," Sydney replied with a small smile but Noah knew she lied.

"Is it because of Nick?" Noah asked and Sydney filled in,

"He is fine. I am sure,..."

"Mommy,..." Noah looked at the source of the voice and saw Sydney disappearing into the door at the left.

Not long after Noah saw Gideon coming with sleepy eyes and yawn, "Where is mama?"

Noah was still contemplating what to told him when they both heard Sydney giggling along with another laugh,

"Who is in there?" Gideon asked and Noah was at the loss of words as he cursed himself inwardly to never talk with kids about Nick.
