Bad blood
"Why you didn't tell me about your kidnapping part?..." She heard Noah say and went silent.
"...you should have told me about Lucifer if I didn't remember. Did you..." Noah took in a deep breath as he felt Sydney's body getting tense, "You really thought I won't listen to you or what?"
"I...I,..." Sydney trembled not knowing how much he knew and how much he doesn't.
"You still don't want to share." Noah came again, this time with a serious tone.
"We...have been through so much Noah. I didn't want to risk your health,...you know I always encouraged to work on our past." Sydney's voice came out guilty.
"You don't need to sugar coat it. Just confess that you don't trust me enough to share anything at all...You have gotten used to deal your stuff all alone. Do you even want me?" Noah turned to look at her face.
"Of course, I want you." Desperation was evident in her voice. But looking at his hard jaw made her weak. "I,...I didn't want to shock you or..." She got her hands on his shoulders before whispering, "I can deal with anything except losing you. I am so weak Noah. I am so weak when it comes to you,"
"Sydney," Noah seethed before taking two long breaths to calm his nerves. The realization that she can't see him able enough to lean on irked him. He could only make her silhouette in her white flimsy nightgown but still, sense her panic. "Stop making my health an excuse, you can clearly see that I am fine after finding what happened to you. So, the least you can do is to share what happened? To share WHO ARE YOU?" He held her shoulders and jerked her to shake her senses before coming close to her mouth and saying, "I am tired of this endless loop."
"I,...We met when you were on a tour of my county." She started and it got Noah's hold on her shoulder minor. "I never asked you why you were there. My,...father's friend was my guardian. He,...is Maria's father too. You...told everyone that your name is Michael and presented your driver at your place." Sydney stopped to gulp. Even the thoughts of what happened were enough to shake her.
"I asked for your help...but you came to marry me instead. And, seeing no way out I married you. I,...it wasn't out of love or affection but time got us closer..." Sydney wanted to get over it when he asked,
"For what you asked help,"
"I,...I didn't want to marry the person I was to marry,..." she replied knowing to what it will lead,
"You had a fiancé?" Noah cut her off and got her breathing labored.
"Yea...no,...I,...didn't want to marry him. And, then you came and I said I do..."
"If you didn't want to marry him you could have said no. Why you needed me? Right? So, tell me, why I married you?" Noah bombarded her with the questions he could come up with totally ignoring her reluctance.
"I,...was scared," She shivered and felt cold.
"Why?" Noah asked,
"...I was twelve...he raped me. It wasn't my fault Noah. I was trying to,..." She didn't have to complete her sentence because the very next moment she was surrounded by the warmth of his arm.
"Don't...you don't need to...I am so sorry, I am so sorry, Sydney." He whispered holding her tighter with each passing second. Her sobs were the only thing echoing in the room as he held her closer and rubbed her heaving back.
Sydney couldn't help but wonder. She had thought about this moment a lot of time. And, sometimes regretted not telling him what she went through. But right now she felt nothing. She just wanted to get over with it.
Though he didn't have his memories back she knew she won't be judged, questioned or doubted, because it was her Noah who had a heart of gold regardless.
She didn't talk but knew he was awake. His hold on her back never loosened. She didn't move. Somewhere she feared to break the moment but knew she had to, "Do you want to say something?"
"No, I need to tell you something," Noah said and made her only stare in response.
"You are the most amazing woman I have ever met. I love you," She heard him say and her heart skipped several beats before she got her hand over him and hold on to him tighter.
"I love you, too, Noah. I love you, too" She said before they finally give in to their exhausting situation.
Noah woke up early in the morning to look at Sydney's face. Her mouth a little open and her calm breaths made her looked ethereal. He couldn't help but remove a lock of her hair away and make her stir.
Looking at her rubbing her eyes he leaned in to kiss her head before whispering in her ear, "Good morning, Angel."
"Good morning,..." She felt his hand roaming on her belly and inhaled sharply before welcoming his mouth over hers.
"I hope she is fine," Sydney said as they pulled away, "She is...don't worry." He said before locking his eyes to her.
"What?" Sydney asked,
"I can't wait to see her,...to hold her." He said before coming over her to suck her mouth again. "Can you be ready in the evening? I want to celebrate her arrival. Just you and me,...no one else." A smile appeared on Sydney's face.
"Are you trying to keep my kids away from me?" She asked,
"No, I just want a little time with you without anyone around. And, celebrate the arrival of our little fairy," She blushed when Noah's hands got more suggestive.
"I will be ready," She promised.
The moment Noah got in his car he dialed for Jasper. The only thing he wanted was to ask him about the bastard. In the next hour, he got the file over Arthur Hunt on his table. The fact that the person was in his mid-fifties took him by shock. Jasper mentioned in the report how he was to rot in jail for his whole life over the murder of Sydney's mother.
"I want to kill this person," Noah roared throwing the file on the floor as he loosened his tie. "You almost did, believe me," Jasper replied,
"What about that shit? That Lucifer?" Even his name was enough to make Noah flaring up.
"Our report says he is somewhere in Florida. We are very close getting to him." Jasper answered,
"I am to take my wife out for dinner. I want you all to be alert and fully prepared all the time. I wouldn't prefer any kind of nuisance." Noah ordered and Jasper nodded,
"...There is no point in hiding Sydney now. They must already be aware of her presence with me," Noah added looking at the view of his office while Jasper nodded his head before saying, "You are right,...do not worry, I am very careful over the matter."
Noah arranged a beautiful venue in a high-end restaurant with a beach in the view and occupied the whole space for only two of them. Initially, he wanted to plan it on the beach but security issues were to blame.
He prohibited Jasper to share any news over Lucifer with Sydney. He didn't want her to worry even for a second and wanted to protect her without even knowing her. He pulled his car in front of his place and gets in to find her reading a magazine in the living room.
"How my Shannon is doing?" Noah asked coming to her,
"She is all great," Sydney received a kiss along with the bouquet and got them settled to the nearest vase. Noah noticed how her beautiful black dress hugged her perfectly.
"I can't wait to see you...grow." She turned to show her red cheeks before adding, "I can't wait to see you changing diapers." Noah laughed coming to her and attacked her lips before asking, "How were the kids?"
"They have gone to bed," Sydney replied but found his attention more on her.
"Let's go, Noah. Or we are to cancel our plans?..." Sydney asked while Noah came to nibble her skin over her neck.
"I will control myself for now...but we will start from here once we are back," Sydney knew his promise will be worth it.
She was amazed looking at the three-tier cake adorning the table and a live band playing music in the far end. But looking at the view of the restaurant Sydney couldn't help but get to the terrace to look at the beach. "I guess you love beaches," Noah asked and Sydney replied,
"Who doesn't?... We have so many memories on the beach," Sydney said looking at the waves hitting the shore but then turned to look at him to find his eyes only on her.
"We will make many more," Noah replied pulling her arm and making her take steps to him. He loved how she blushes every time he holds her.
"It should be illegal to be this amazing," Noah said making Sydney giggle as they approached the table. He held the seat for her and she finally got her eyes on the table with a card that says,
A night to the most beautiful woman,
"Thank you," Sydney whispered,
"Stop looking at me, Noah. You are affecting my appetite," Sydney finally said but saw nothing changing in his stare.
"You are my appetite, Sydney" She heard him say and giggled,
"Stop being flirtatious," Sydney said in a casual manner but found him not eating anything at all,
"Do you want me to stop eating too?" Sydney asked,
"I have a confession to make, Sydney," Noah said making Sydney drop her smile too this time.
"I think I am turning into something," Noah said making Sydney curl up the left corner of her mouth in confusion.
"What do you mean?" Sydney asked,
"You are the only thing on my mind nowadays. Every other second...I just want to see what you would be doing right now? Would you be smiling or talking or widening your eyes like you do when you listen to kids saying something?" He stopped to exhale and Sydney looked at him in surprise.
"And, this is not even it. The moment I lay my eyes on you in my apartment, I wasn't annoyed over the fact that you didn't inform me about kids. Not completely. Even though I couldn't recognize you, my eyes did remember you Sydney. And, my body knew you. You smell familiar. I wanted to hold you when you couldn't stop looking at me when I was busy with Michael making dinner. To say the truth, I want to be normal. In complete, control. But I can't seem to do it. Just tell me what you are doing to me?" Noah said the last part as if blaming her.
"Are you...are you very uncomfortable thinking about me?" Sydney asked carefully.
"Yea,...most of the time I am in my office and my hands start to shiver because all it wants to do is feel you,..." Noah cleared his throat before passing her a jewelry box.
"Thank you," Sydney was amazed looking at the necklace. But in reality, she was surprised to find Noah this much expressive. She was still looking at the heavy jewel when she found Noah standing up and walking to her back. He set the jewelry around her neck before he whispered, "I knew it will be perfect," She gulped as to how close he was.
"Noah?" Sydney whispered in a serious tone and found him even more close looking right on to her mouth.
"I will try to be less amazing. I will try my best." She said breaking in a mischievous smile at the end but found him coming closer.
"Oh, angel, you are going to be failed miserably over your attempts," Noah said in his husky voice before taking her mouth in a feverish kiss.
The fireworks on the sky made Sydney pull away and look at the sky with her hands on her chest.
"It's beautiful Noah,..." She said before getting up from her place. She found his hand on her back and said, "I love..." but was cut off with his hands on her waist and tongue in her mouth.
Their car was pulled in front of their place past midnight. "It was one of the best nights of my life," Sydney said before coming to kiss him. "Well for me, all the nights are best and today won't be an exception too," Noah said making her laugh hard before she opened the door.
They walked in to notice a very strange view. All of the kids in their white nightwear were sitting in the living room with a guest who still had to turn to look at their way. But her height and hairstyle were enough to tell Sydney and Noah who she was?
"What are you doing here, Carol?" Noah asked in quite a firm voice.
Sydney was quick to notice her kids' faces. They were quite as if they had seen a ghost. But the moment Carol turned to say, "Hello cousin," Sydney was quick to call her kids with a smile.
"We will go to our rooms now," But before Sydney could take a single step Amber asked,
"Did you lie to us?... Nick is not your son?" The words spilled the silence over the whole place. But Sydney was quick to look at Nick's face that still seemed strong. She knew he didn't believe any of this. But when she couldn't reply Amber for a few seconds Nick ran to his mother and hugged her.
"I don't like this woman mom,...she is scary," Sydney hugged Nick's head before looking at Noah for help.
"Out of my house, Now!" Noah screamed at Carol making Gideon and Amber jump.
"I only wanted to see my kids. But,...I didn't know you adopted a..."
"Out of my house, now." Sydney seethed but felt Nick sobbing hiding his face in her.
All of them witnessed Carol leaving. Noah gestured for Amber and Gideon to come near. Both kids walked to Noah. Noah was quick to run his hand in Gideon's hair when he heard,
"Who is Lucifer?" Sydney heard to Gideon and looked at Noah lost.
"He is no one," Noah replied picking Amber up but found Gideon's expression remains unchanged.
"She said Lucifer was a bad guy who hurt our mom. And, Nick is his son."
This made Noah look at Sydney with a lot of questions in his eyes but everyone's attention was caught by the loud hiccup from Nick, "Mom, she said I am bad blood."
So, the truth wasn't about Noah but Nick.....
