A drive into past
Jasper smiled before replying, "It is very nice to finally see you in person, Mrs. Miller." He had his beard trimmed and hair combed back. His personality was still there unfazed as he looked far more handsome for his age. Just like old times.
Sydney stared at his wheelchair for a few seconds before asking again,
"What happened to you?... Why did you lie to me?" She couldn't help but ask. She felt sorry for him but she pities herself even more.
"I didn't have any other way..." He tried to say the part as if he could feel her pain.
"You should have told me that my kids were alive, my Noah was alive,..."
"It was you who said that you lost your kids. It was you who already believed that Mr. Miller was dead," Jasper started in his defense but Sydney was quick to show her disapproval.
"What I believed wasn't true? You could have told me this...That person,..." Sydney's voice got stuck in her throat as tears dared to slip with her boiling anger.
"That person made me listen to my kids crying before he silenced them to death." She shouted and Jasper was about to say something when she added with utter disappointment. "I believed you Jasper...but you failed them. I didn't even blame you after that but what you did to me?" She questioned but Jasper stayed silent as she continued. "You let me believe that I lost my kids. For five years I had been mourning them. For five years they had been suffering a life they don't deserve."
"I told you I will get them, I told you to run away with me. And, Mrs. Miller you lost that opportunity. Once the kids were safe no one was allowed to get you out of there...and when Lucifer lost your babies. He staged their death."
"You could have come to save me," Sydney protested,
"I was shot saving the twins...right into the spine," Jasper said and made her see his wheelchair.
She knew what she wanted to complain about. There were many. But what was she to say this all to the person who put his life in saving her babies?
"What's with not telling me about Noah and twins?" This time her voice didn't have rage. But her tone was serious enough to tell Jasper that she won't back off until she got her answers.
"Miss Miller was of the view that you won't get away from Lucifer. But when you did she wanted us,...to kill you."
Sydney had to take a moment before letting her absorb this piece of information. She walked to take a seat in front of him and noticed Mr. Saad standing beside Jasper.
"How come I am alive then?" Sydney asked and Jasper inhaled sharply before starting,
"It is not because of me. The team decided it themselves. And, they only betrayed Ms. Miller because Noah was still alive. They would have been in trouble if Noah would ever come to know about this,..."
"Am I joke to you?" Sydney cut him off,
"I was in no condition to help you out. But I suggested my team to have you with Saad. I was a guardian to him. And, Ms. Miller didn't know anything about him,..."
"Did you know about my kids?" Sydney questioned Mr. Saad and he was silent.
"I am divorcing you," Sydney turned back to look at the door to find Mrs. Saad standing there. It proves Mrs. Saad wasn't deceiving her.
"I am done too," Sydney said before getting up and was about to turn to leave when Jasper said,
"You can't take Nick with you," This made Sydney look at him with utter shock.
"Jasper, not even try pulling,..."
"He is right, Sydney. You can't take him and you know why,..." Saad cut her off but she was quick to ask,
"Why? He is my child in every fucking sense. You dare apart him with me you will see my wrath."
"They will come finding him," Jasper warned and Sydney asked, "Who?"
"You know the answer, Sydney. I am talking about...Lucifer."
"No, he can't,..." Sydney said and her mind took her to those eyes that had haunted her a lot in the past.
"...have to leave Nick behind,...I can take care of him," Sydney couldn't focus on what Jasper and Saad said but felt dizzy and next found Mrs. Saad supporting her as she asked,
"Sydney, let me take you to your room."
She was still walking to her room and got to her wing when she whispered to Mrs. Saad, "Lucifer won't come. He can't come,..." The way with Sydney's body and voice trembled Mrs. Saad added with much empathy.
"Yea, Sydney he won't," It was evident Mrs. Saad didn't know who she was talking about but knew he was a person who shouldn't reach Sydney.
Mrs. Saad covered Sydney's trembling body under the quilt and tried to make sure she closes her eyes before she walked out in rage.
Sydney remained in the dark as she tried to keep her breathing to normal. She tried to recall what her psychiatrist told her and whispered herself not to go there before she fell into the void again and lost.
"Anything?" She gasped looking at him and then turn to look at the baby monitor in his hands.
"Look at me," Lucifer seemed impatient for her attention. But when she didn't hear him he repeated,
"I said, look at me." The sharpness in his voice made Sydney turn her eyes to him. But within seconds her eyes got narrowed as she looked at him with hatred and disgust.
"No. Not like this. Look at me as I am the only man for you." Sydney winced when he got her secured under him.
"Noah will kill you," She spat,
"He is in a box right now," Lucifer chuckled and her eyes got wide.
"No, he isn't," She knew it can't happen. Her kids were too small to lose their father. She was too weak to breathe without him.
"No, no, no, no, you can't cry for a man if it is not me," Lucifer said while her breathing got shallow.
"Let me go,..." She tried to get away but when he didn't budge she shouted, "Let me go to my Noah. Please...please leave my kids and me. We will give you everything." She pleaded while Lucifer hated how he wasn't able to look in her eyes because she kept on crying,
"...We will give you all the money. Let my kids go to their father for one last time....Let me see him," She sobbed while he could only marvel at how delicate she was.
"Don't cry. Come on." Lucifer said getting off to her left side and held her to his chest, "It will pass. Life isn't fair. Shh,..." He cooed rubbing her back with a smile on his face.
"This shall pass too, don't worry..." He was about to kiss her head when she pushed him away with her hand.
"Give me my kids! You asshole!" Sydney threw a few punches to a still Lucifer before he pulled her hair to hold her close to his mouth.
"If you asked for your kids' freedom one more time they will be gone forever," She heaved listening to him and got still. The disappointment on his face made her believe that he wasn't bluffing. And, she could see how weak she was in front of him.
"Please, don't do this,...please," She whispered and hiccupped,
"Believe me it is up to you," Lucifer replied grazing his thumb on her mouth and faked his concern,
"What do you want?" She spat looking at his creepy eyes.
"You," He said without wasting a moment,
"You destroyed my family." Sydney chewed the words, "You,...will never have me," A little smile played on his mouth.
She hated how his eyes were roaming on her face. All she could think was for him to suffer the same as her Noah suffered.
"I will worship you, the goddesses are not meant to have the family. They are meant to be worshiped." He said looking at her now very shocked expression. "...And, I am your follower." He added before getting her under his huge body to kiss her mouth. And, the moment she tried to hit him this time he secured her hands above her head.
"No!" she pulled away screaming when he twisted her wrist but this time was met with a hit on her cheek. She cried silent tears while he bruised her body and soul.
Hours later she found herself caged in his arm. She didn't feel anything but a hollow inside her.
"Lucifer! It's urgent," This time the knock was louder.
"Fuck!"
She winced as the person beside her rushed outside swearing.
Sydney didn't move her eyes and stayed there unaffected. She blinked only when she heard the door being slammed after him and became aware of what had happened.
She got up to pull the cover over her body sobbing. She cried how she was never to see Noah again and wondered for what he lost his life...for all of this to happen to her.
You are so pretty. What's your name? Aww,...
Can I hold her?
No, she is sleepy.
She stopped hiccupping the moment she noticed a baby monitor on the bed. She held the monitor to her ear and tried to listen to her babies. Her babies don't seem to cry and there was someone cooing or talking to them.
The voices coming out of the baby monitor made Sydney restless. Getting control over her sobs she got the shirt from the bed and walked to the door. And, the moment she found it unlocked she rushed out. She had to clear her head to recall the way she came through.
Looking at Lucifer's back talking as he talked to three men she tried to hide behind a pillar. Her uncoordinated movement became alert when she saw two men coming from ahead. They look at her as if they knew her but passing her they did nothing more than sparing her disapproving stares.
Gulping hard she knew where she doesn't need to go. Walking at her left she took the stairs down to notice a pool ahead and four tall women who seemed to be in a heated conversation in a language she couldn't understand.
"Can you keep it low? If not you are going to put those kids to sleep?" Sydney saw a woman appearing out of a room and knew it was her kids.
Not caring about who these people are and what stares they were passing her she followed that woman to get inside a room to see five cribs.
"Who are you?" That woman yelled noticing Sydney.
"Where are my kids?" Sydney got panicked looking at the cribs but before she could see the last two that woman caught her.
"Who are you?" This time Sydney looked at that middle-aged woman.
"I am,... They are my babies. Give them back to me," Sydney tried to get to cribs but that woman took a few seconds before letting her go to see her babies.
"They aren't my babies? Where are my babies?" All of the kids were months older than her babies.
"You aren't from here. Who got you here?" Sydney knew she needed someone's help.
"Lucifer," She replied,
"You are Mrs. Miller?" Sydney nodded her head while biting her cheek. "There is no way out, hon. I hope he gets,..." Not caring about what that woman wanted to say Sydney opened the baby monitor to let that woman hear to people talking.
"This is Liza. You can find her right above this room." Sydney didn't waste any time and got out to take the first case of stairs she could find and get to the room that she believed was right above the previous place.
But a moment before Sydney could get inside the door she was pulled back with a force.
I will try to update the chapter tomorrow. But hey? you know me!
