Days at Camp Half-Blood used to be fun, happy and brilliant. The sun would shine on the ground, brightening up the day as the chatter of the campers could be heard from everywhere. The talks, the laughs and the clink-clank of swords clashing against each other were the usual sounds you could hear during the day.

Days at Camp Half-Blood were amazing, the quietude of the night replaced with feet stomping on the grass and the giggles from the Aphrodite Cabin.

Now, after two wars, the explosions and all the bloodshed, days at Camp Half-Blood are filled with a tinge of sadness. Sadness which fills the hearts of our demigods. And plagues them while they train. While they talk. While they laugh.

If you watch the campers, you can see our hero, Annabeth Chase throwing her blueprints against the wall, pulling at her hair. Why? She's been drawing the floor plans of a giant's house. A house which brings back memories of someone she wishes she could've saved.

You can see our green-eyed savior furiously dueling with his friend, Jason. But it's not the same, all the energy, the anger is unleashed as his bronze sword clashes with a gold one. The sword clatters to the ground with a thud as the son of Poseidon rushes to his girlfriend's side when he sees her crying.

Our hero with the beautiful eyes can be seen doing her hair, her harpy feather worn out from all the times she's pulled at it out of fury. Out of pure frustration. Where did he go? She thinks as looks at her gleaming dagger. Why can't the blade show me where he is?

The small boy, Harley, cries out for his brother as he realizes he's been drawing a bronze dragon. His sister comes over to see what's wrong but as she catches sight of the paper, tears fall from her eyes too. And so they sit there, together, calling out for a brother they want to see again.

Even the Stoll brothers are out of pranks. They rack their brains for another idea, another trick. But there's nothing there. So, you don't hear Demeter's daughter yelling their names every morning. She'll never admit it, but she misses the chocolate bunnies she'd find on her roof or the pink color of her hair.

The satyrs of the forest leave to the mortal world to find more demigods, one of their brethren crying. Scared because they may not come back. The dryads weep for their sisters who they miss dearly.

The campers gather 'round in the Dining Pavilion as Chiron makes a string of announcements. He expects a loud cheer as he says they will have Capture The Flag tonight. But instead, he receives a half-hearted one. Our centaur worries for his students, they look like zombies. Bags under their eyes from all the sleepless nights, their energy depleted from the war they fought in.

The war which leaves them with death. Death which has left our demigods shattered.

Days at Camp Half-Blood.

Days of fake smiles, tearful laughs and mourning. But maybe, just maybe, our heroes will be able to piece themselves back together.
