"Daddy, Mummy hurry up"

They are always so late. I wonder what they are doing in there,I have been waiting for them. How long does it take to dress.

"We're coming honey, it's your mother that is delaying us"

Daddy says as he comes down the stairs. And it's true mummy always makes us late.

"But we are going to be late, the party has started"
He picks me up, as he meets me by the door and kisses my cheek.

Wrapping my arms around his neck, I kiss his cheek too.

"Patience my little volcano,we don't want you to erupt,do we"
He says while laughing.

"Daddy stop,I'm not a volcano"
I hate when he calls me that, it's not my fault I get angry. Mummy says I get it from her.

He laughs even harder, and says

"Okay okay,I'm sorry, you are just like your mother, you both can't take a joke.
Like mother like daug-"

" -I can't take a joke right honey"

A voice says from behind me,I turn and see mummy coming down the stairs. Finally,now we can go.

Daddy's face pales as he drops me down and goes to hug mummy,but she slaps his hand away.

"Honey it's not like that, I was just joking, you know I don't mean it"

Daddy says as he rushes to open the door for mummy. Typical daddy always getting into trouble with mummy.

" Mhmmm, come on Aza, let's go to the car,so your father would not say I am the one that made you late."

With that she grabs my hand, and we both head to the car.

Daddy starts the car and, turns to look at me.

"Ready V"

"Yes daddy,now let's go"
I turn to look at the window,as the weather suddenly changes and it starts to rain heavily.

"You okay honey"
I turn to look at mom,who looks at me with concern on her face.

"I'm okay Mummy, it's just a little rain and you and Daddy are here with me,so I'm not afraid"
Daddy stretches his hand to me and says

"Yes my little V, we are here and we will always be with you, no matter what "
I look at Mum and she also holds my hand.

"Always Mummy?"

She kisses my temple and smiles at me

" Always sweetie"

If only I knew that nothing lasts forever, I would have never let go of their hand.
