"Yesterday is History...
Tomorrow is a mystery...
Today is a gift,
which is why it's called the
Present..."

The sun began to rise as the moon descended along with the dark sky. Sunlights slowly poured into Serena's bedsheets as it crawled onto the back of her head. She's still fast asleep.
Serena's POV
As soon as I woke up, I realized that it's already late morning. I touched the bandage that's wrapped around my head and slowly take it off, hoping there won't be any pain. The wound didn't seem to be a huge problem, according to the doctor for my morning check up, so I was free to go home for the day.
The soft sunlight came upon my face as I walked out the doors. And I decided to go home to take to get myself cleaned up.
I heard chattering and laughter from a distance. I turned around and didn't see anyone there. I started looking in different directions, until a voice in my head told me "it's just your head."
I continued walking, almost reaching to my place, until, with no doubt, I heard people talking. I slowly followed the voices. Loud noises weren't very common in my neighborhood, because everyone here loves a peace and quiet place, many would stay in their homes or rather travel to somewhere else. It got louder when I reached the end of the block that I'm currently on, and my suspicions were correct, when the voices revealed themselves. Cameras, microphones, and notepads. It turned out to be the press. Weird. What are they doing here? In a neighborhood like this?
I wanted to get closer to go and take a look of what's happening, but I didn't want to get lost in that chaotic crowd. I shook my head and read the street sign: 79 St. W.
My place is only a street away from here, so who's living in this ordinary neighborhood that could be so famous for the media?
I shook my head again and started walking the opposite direction fron the crowd. Weird...

No one's POV
"Serena!" The dark-blue haired tackled her friend with a huge hug. "I missed you so much!"
"Dawn!" Serena struggled within her grasp. "I've only been out for a day."
"But that's still too long!" She tightened her grip and finally let go, letting her victim breathe.
"So you're feeling better?" Serena lifted her eyes to see the source of the voice.
"Gary?! What are you doing here?! AHHHGG! Stop stalking us!" Dawn's angry expression filled her head with red tickmarks, something that made Gary amused to watch.
Gary smirked. "Well Serena here was a friend of mine back then, probably still now, so it wouldn't be unusual for me, is it?"
Dawn gave a death glare to him, causing him to shiver in fear. "Well that's fine, but whatever you do to Sere, I will find you myself."
"H-hai," Gary nervously raised a hand in promise.
Serena's friend sighed and turned back, "So you're all better now, right?"
She slightly smiled and gave her and Gary a thumbs up. "All better. It wasn't a big problem anyway."
"You were bleeding!" Dawn reminded her and glared at Gary, who had his hands up in protest.
"Well it's gone now." Serena lightly touched her wound.
"Ah! Okay! That's great to hear," Dawn brought up one of her brightest smiles. I nodded and a phone call started ringing.
"Hello?" Gary answered his phone with his other hand in his pocket. Serena and Dawn glanced at each other, wondering who's he's talking to.
"What? They found you again?" Gary chuckled. "You shouldn't have gone alone... Haha! That's some life!"
Gary paused for moment, trying to progress the caller's next words. Who...?" Gary turned and took a glanced at Serena and quickly turned back. "U-uh. Yeah. Why?"
Serena furrowed her eyebrows in confusion. As for Dawn, she's planning her next strategy to make Gary talk about his phone call if he choose not to.
"Oh. Okay. See ya later baka." Gary ended the phone call and put his phone away, before meeting two suspicious girls upon him.
"Who was that?" Serena questioned.
"Yeah. Who's this baka you speak of?" Dawn narrowed her eyes at him. "Is he an even more idiot than you?"
"Ah. It's just a friend of mine," he gave eye contact to Serena," you know, the one you heard in the music room."
Serena's eyes widened.
Ash? Okay, but why did Gary turned and glanced at me when he was still talking to him?
"Ashy-boy just called because he got a situation he have to deal with, which is why I didn't see him come to school earlier," Gary explained as he put his hands into his pockets. "He said that he'll be here for practice later. That's all."
Serena frowned.
He didn't explain why he turned around. Is he hiding something?
"It's a good thing you talked," Dawn crossed her arms. "If you didn't, I would have you tortured by then."
Gary gave out his confident smile. "Heh. Well I did. Be grateful."
Dawn growled and dragged Serena away from him.

Serena sighed. "It's been a long day. I'm glad school is finally over."
She gave out a soft yawn, walking towards to the exit doors. Until...she was pushed onto the lockers instead.
"Well guess who's back?" A familiar voice said.
Serena grunted with her eyes shut in pain. Getting up on her feet, she slowly opened her eyes to see who's the caused of this.
Now being able to see, she said the person's identity coldly. "Miette."
"Ha Serena! When I heard that you got injured, life has been easy for me to move around here," Miette put her hands on her hip. "But now that you're back..."
She began to slowly raise her right hand high in the air. "It looks like I have to see your depressing face, the one since you-know-what-happened, in school once again."
Miette's hand suddenly shot down toward Serena's face as Serena shuts her eyes, expecting the blow that she has experienced before.
...
Serena expectations did not come true, although she did felt a small breeze past by, but no pain was in contact to her face.
Wondering what happened, Serena slowly raised her eyelids and saw Miette's shocked expression. Miette's focus wasn't on Serena, but what's stopping her.
A hand, wearing a dark blue fingerless glove, is gripping onto Miette's right arm, the one that Miette was planning to use on Serena.
...
"What do you think you're doing, Miette?"

A/N hey guys! I know it's been awhile, but school is keeping me busy and I needed to obtain some awesome ideas. Sorry about that! This chapter was shorter than I expected but it past 1000 words mark and I had to make some last minute changes. And just a reminder, these characters could be out of character for the story and my writing can be really cringey.😀
Also, sorry if there are any mistakes in this chapter.😅
I want to say one thing: I can't believe that they are going to put Ash-Greninja in the upcoming Super Smash Bros.!😁
That's all! See ya!
