Chapter 7 - A Visit From An Alpha

"She's missing," Jones said as everyone gasped. I was confused; what does he mean. How can someone just go missing?

"What do you mean?" Trevor said as if he was reading all of our minds.

"I am not sure, exactly, we got a message from Alpha Thorn from Red Moon Pack. He went to the Oracle to find out where his future mate is, but he couldn't find her. His best men are searching her." Amy explained as her mate nodded.

"Oh, my... This is not good." Allison said.

"She's never gone, expect for that one time in..." She was cut off by Collins, whose presence was unnoticed by me till now.

"No, it couldn't be. It's been a long time since that incident." He briefly said as everyone stiffened slightly. What were they talking about?

"What happened?" I questioned and Kyle opened his mouth.

"It's a story that not everyone knows. The Oracle, Jenna, had a boyfriend. His name was Jack, and oh my, they were the cutest couple ever. Jenna and Jack were sick in love and they were going to get married. Everyone was quite pleased with their relationship. After all, Jack was a warlock - one of a kind. They would have strengthened the bond between witches and warlocks. Two strong forces combining together. Since Jenna had good connections with wolves too. This would make three forces combined under one roof." He explained and I nodded eagerly. I was paying close attention.

"Well, then, things started to go haywire. A week before their wedding, someone dropped a parcel at Jenna's doorstep. It was a letter. Love letter, actually. Jenna didn't know who it was from. She read the letter and asked Jack, whether he sent this. Jack was clueless and shocked. Jenna tried to use her magic to find out, but failed." Amy continued the story. Jones told the next part.

"They ignored the letter and continued with the marriage preparations. It was only until the day after when Jenna realized something was wrong. She received a bouquet full of red roses. The roses were red with blood. To be specific, it was Jack's blood on those white roses. Jenna was shocked and she called all the witches in the town. The wedding was called off as there was no further notice of Jack's presence in the town." He said and I gasped at the terrifying story.

"It was chaotic! Nobody knew who was doing this. It was only the day on when she was supposed to get married, they found Jack. More like, Jack's dead body. Jack was stabbed with silver and drowned in water several times. His body was cut into pieces. It was brutal to even see...." Allison trailed off and tears appeared in her eyes. Josh hugged her slightly as she continued to finish the gruesome tale.

"Jenna was wild. Livid. Angry. She raged and raged and tore apart. She left for two years. Nobody found her. Until she came back, and she was different. Not only be her appearance, but many witches say that her aura has changed. It's like she became more powerful. The witches were scared by her power and soon she was an outcast. She came to Jones for help, and he happily accepted her in this pack. She became a strong asset to this pack, until one day in her dreams, the Moon Goddess came." I gasped. No one was been able to see the Moon Goddes, not no one, but it was very rare.

"Yeah, it was a miracle. Ever since the visit, she's known as the Oracle and lives next to the Red Moon Pack. We still miss her, though." Allison concluded and I tried to get my head around this story.

"Wow." I couldn't imagine a rough life like Jenna's. Oh my god, and now she is missing. I really hope nothing bad happens to her. She has already suffered so much, and I really don't want her to suffer more.

'Yeah, me too..' Jessica agreed.

"Yeah, well, Hope you had a rough night," Stiles said and came up to me and gave a hug.

"Get some rest. One of us will come wake you up later." He said and I nodded vigorously. No way was I sleeping again after those haunted dreams creeping the hell out of me.

"Hope..." Trevor warned.

"Please. I am fine. I know me sleeping is an excuse to get rid of me. Well, it ain't that easy." I lied and winked. The truth was I was afraid of falling into oblivion and going back to that white room.

Trevor sighed and nodded.

"Well, then, I suppose you could meet the rest of the pack. We're heading to the pack house for some training and movie time. You know, spend some time with the pack. And, Holden needs to have a meeting with the elite squad." Jason said and I nodded.

"You could come too and spend some time. Wear something sporty. We'll see you in the kitchen in 20 minutes, then?" He further added as everyone left my room one by one.

"Got it, Jason. Thanks." I said and he left. Trevor was the last to go and he gave me a hug before he left. I sighed and looked at the empty room. I went straight to the bathroom and brushed my teeth. I looked at the mirror and groaned. They saw me like this. A Dracula.

'You always look like this, sweet cheeks.' My wolf grinned.

'Shut up! You're meant to be nice to this princess.'

'Princess, my foot.' She scoffed. I rolled my eyes and went for a shower. I listened to Jason and wore something sporty and nice. After all, I wanted to make a good impression on the pack.

I sprayed some lavender perfume and wore a white watch. I smiled in the mirror and left my room. When I reached the kitchen, I realized I was the last one to come.

"Hey, guys," I said and everyone replied with a round of greeting.

"Let's go, then," Lucy said and I nodded. Kyle, Trevor, and Jones took the car keys that was on the kitchen slab.

"I call dibs on shotgun!" Josh screamed and Allison gave him a look. He looked at her and his eyes widened.

"I mean, no, I don't call the shotgun." He said as Allison smiled and gave me a cheek-kiss. I laughed.

"You're hopeless in love," I said and everyone laughed.

"I call shotgun, then!" Collins screamed and Josh whined.

We head out to the garage. Kyle's baby, which he bragged about endlessly, was a BMW. It was a classy model and, I have to admit, was perfect. I sat in his car with Stiles and Lucy.

Trevor was driving a range rover with Collins, Josh, and Allison. Jones was in another car along with his mate, of course, and Holden was forced to be stuck as a third-wheel with the two love birds. Holden ran out of the car as soon as we reached the pack house, which was only a twelve minutes drive.

"Too much PDA!" He screamed as we all chuckled and Amy pouted. I chuckled.

"Let's go," Jones said as we were greeted by two men standing at the front of the door. The pack house was quite big surrounded with greener and lush. It was at a perfect spot.

"Alpha, Luna." They said and everyone entered. I wowed the decorations in the living room as I noticed Holden's absence.

"Where's Holden?" I said and before the words came out, he arrived.

"Ah, princess, missed me." He winked and Trevor growled.

"Chill down!" Holden said to Trevor as I grinned at my brother's protectiveness.

"Anyways, I need to meet my men. I will see you, later." Holden said and left to his meeting.

"I need to do some pack work with Amy," Jones said, "we'll meet you guys after training here." I nodded.

"So, where is the pack?" I asked as Jones and Amy left the room.

"They're training. Let's go." Trevor said and led the way to the training room. It was big and everyone was doing one thing or the other. Some were learning self-defence, others were punching, running, shooting or wrestling. It was organized and loud. Everyone headed to one of the sections and started to train. Trevor stood beside me explaining the room format.

"Okay, sis, so there. The elder train in that corner and are the most experienced fighters." He said pointing at the furthest right corner.

"These are the children that are trained by one of Holden's men. His name is Algero. The children train only for two hours." I nodded paying close attention.

"This big area is for us. You could either do self-defence or have a partner to train with. Those are the mats for fighting. These are the punching bags and those are the archery and shooting range targets." He said showing me each area. Everyone stared at me, but Trevor told them to focus on training. He further explained the training room and asked me if I had any questions. I said no and he told me to go train.

I went to the punching bags and started to pound into them. I was too busy in punching that I didn't notice the time or the crowd that gathered around me.

"Woah! I have never seen a girl hit like that!" Someone said. Jessica snickered.

"Oh yeah, well you would like to see what I could do that face of yours." I winked and his eyes widened with fear.

"I like you!" A girl came up to me with mid-long hair. She shooed everyone away and shook my hands.

"I am Garci..." before she could introduce herself. A loud growl could be heard from the room. The girl stiffened and whispered 'mate.' I smiled at her and her eyes gleamed with horror.

"No! no! I don't want one." She screamed and tried to run away. I saw a man chase her. It was, to my surprise, Collins.

"Collins found his mate!" I screamed and ran behind him. I reached to the living room by chasing him and saw Collins pinning the girl against a wall. He sniffed her neck and moaned in euphoria.

"You have no idea, little mate, how long I've waited," Collins said in a deep tone and the girl whimpered in agony. What the hell? Why is she upset?

"Collins, back down," I said and Collins' head whipped to me and growled aggressively.

"Hey, buddy!" said a random man and he walked in front of me. I was scared, well slightly.

'I don't like this. Collins should know better.' Jessica growled and I nodded.

'His mate is scared of him. I just want to help.' I said.

'I know, Hope... But, he probably just found his mate. He is very...' Jessica trailed off and I helped her.

'Aggressive? I know. I wish we could feel that from our mate. The protection. The love.' I whispered to Jess.

'The possessiveness. No, way, please. We only belong to ourselves.' Jess scoffed and tried to lighten the mood. I got out of my trance to notice the man shaking my hands and Collins still pinning down his afraid mate.

"Are you okay?" He said. I took this time to realize that he had blue eyes and a scar on his nose. It was quite visible and I knew it had a story behind it.

"Yes," I replied promptly and he smiled slightly. We heard a big growl followed by a cry. Oh my, Collins is hurting his mate. How can't he see this?

"We should help them!" I said and was going to help that poor girl when this man stopped me.

"Do you have a death wish, or what?" He screamed in my eyes and fastened his grip on my arms.

"Hey, leave me!" I screamed and pushed his grip off me, but he was too strong.

"Listen. Calm down." He gently said and I complied. Woah, he is powerful too. He made me comply his words. He might be a Beta or something? But, this pack has only one Beta and that is Jason. Well, then he could be a Gamma, but that's crossed out as Stiles is the Gamma. Then, who the hell is he?

"Who are you?" I said and looked straight in his striking eyes. He smirked and gave a smug look that I hated. He was like one of those cocky boys, I thought.

"Well, angry woman, I am glad to know you have manners." He said and I gasped.

'Oh, no! Hell, no! You ain't get to call us that!' Jess wolfed out. I controlled her and stared into his eyes. I broadened my chest to get a furious aura around me.

"Manners are for those you deserve it. You, you're, just plain pathetic." I sassed and he grinned and winked.

"Ah, feisty! I like it. And pathetic, sweety... I am just plain sexy!" He winked. I swear this boy has some serious eye issues.

"My foot! Check yourself in the mirror. You'll be happy to find an ugly duckling." I said and flipped my hair. I looked back to see Trevor and Kyle holding Collins back. I sighed in relief and ran over to the girl, who hugged me.

"Hey, hey!" I whispered in her ears. She looked up at me with immense fear in her eye.

"It's okay. S'okay. You're fine." I shushed her as she started to fall drowsy. She was starting to get heavier against my chest. I realized that the poor girl had fallen into slumber. I sighed and looked at Trevor, who was struggling to hold Collins in place.

"Trevor, can you carry her to a bed?" I asked and he nodded.

"No! Don't take my mate away from me. I have waited so many years." Collins screamed and I stared at him in disbelief. I walked up to him and grabbed his shirt. Jessica came out as my eyes changed color.

"You have waited! Then, you could have waited a little more! Didn't you see what you did to that poor little girl? She's afraid! Collins Hale, get back to reality. Otherwise, soon, the thing you'll be waiting for is a friend." I hurled at him, actually, Jessica did. She gave me back my control after her awesome speech. Collins seemed slightly terrified and I liked that. People should be terrified of my power.

"I am so sorry Hope! I didn't realize..." He ranted on and on for forgiveness and all that. I just silenced him.

"Save it!" I stated coldly and walked away.

Kyle and that man were quite surprised and Collins sat on the sofa stumped with his hands on his head.

"Hey!" I turned to notice the man that called me angry woman following me.

"What?" I said. He gave a small sincere smile.

"Thanks. I am Alpha Quincy from the Lunar Moon Pack." I gasped and my eyes widened as big as saucers.

"Oh no! I am sorry. Look, whatever I said back there..."

"It's fine. I was being a little...." He scratched his back.

"Mean?" I offered and he gave me a nasty eye look before laughing. He nodded and I smiled.

"I am Hope, by the way," he nodded.

"So, Alpha Quincy, what brings you here?" I asked him.

"Call me Quincy. I have some news to share with Alpha Jones. He called me over right now only. Since our pack is right beside his, I decided to come now."

"Oh, cool. Anything serious?"

"Not really, but yeah." I raised an eyebrow. He gave a nervous smile.

"Something has happened." Oh, he must be talking about the Oracle. I smiled and nodded.

"The Oracle, right?" I questioned and he nodded.

"No, something else." I gulped and dreaded what the news could be. It must be important that Alpha Quincy came immediately.

"Alpha Quincy, the Alpha requests your presence." A boy came and Quincy nodded.

"I'll be there." The boy nodded and left. Quincy smiled at me.

"Nice meeting you, Ms. Hope. I shall see you soon," He said politely and left. I was curious to what the news was. I couldn't help but secretly follow him and eavesdrop. Quincy entered a wooden door that said 'Alpha Jones.' I could hear them greeting one another and Amy sequeling in joy.

"Oh my, how's your mate?" Amy questioned as I leaned further into the wall.

"She's fine. Melody can get a little handful at times." The three laughed and I snickered as well.

"Well, I have good news and bad news," Quincy said seriously and Amy sighed.

"Good, first!" She said.

"Well, Melody and I are having our first child soon. She's pregnant." Quincy exclaimed as I heard Jones pat his back and Amy squeal in delight.

"That's amazing, buddy," Jones said and I smiled.

"Yeah, thanks," Quincy said with evident joy in his voice.

"Well, the bad news is..." He said and I was so curious to learn that I didn't notice when a vase fell by my leg. My eyes widened and I ran behind the stairs. I heard Amy come out and check. A maid came and apologized. The maid quickly picked up the pieces and left. Amy went back inside.

'Phew, that was close.' Jess said and I couldn't help but agree.

I closed my eyes and concentrated on my hearing. I could hear Quincy's voice.

"...the RiverMoon Pack's wiped out, Jones. It's quite brutal! I heard that Ryker and his pregnant girlfriend died in the fire. In fact, every single one of them is ash..."
