"As I told you, Sheila doesn't like me. What I am about to tell you, well, it isn't just from rumors. Some of it I heard from her own mouth and other from her boyfriend." This startles Director Bishop.
"You knew her boyfriend?"
Savana scoffs and writes, "Her boyfriend, before he broke up with her after having sex with her, was Grant. He told me far more than I ever wanted to know about his past flings while we were dating. I finally had to tell him that if he wanted to continue dating me that he needed to stop talking about what he did with other females."
The Director was confused at first then Brice tells him, "Grant Hudson, was Savana's boyfriend that was killed the same time as her parents."
Understanding dawns in the Director's eyes. "I understand. I know that my daughter-in-law was a stuck up bitch. I didn't see my granddaughter often due to my job and location of where they lived. I believe my granddaughter takes after her mother quite a bit."
The words seemed to leave a bitter taste in his mouth.
"Sheila, she wasn't like me. I was a virgin, but she was well known as being easy around the school. I heard that she had two abortions by the time she was sixteen. That part I heard from her own mouth as she was bragging to her friends in the girls locker room after PE.
"Because she wasn't a virgin she wouldn't have gotten away without being sexually abused. It likely started as soon as the sheriff got a hold of her. Well, if she was taken when her father was in the accident then he would have waited until he wouldn't be seen. Then he likely would have allowed his men to sample her as well. Then once he sold her she would have been sexually abused by those that bought her until they sold her at the auction. Then of course there would be the one that bought her. You know more about what happens after that.
"I'm sorry, I wish there could be better news."
"If I ever find her, I'll be sure to get her some mental therapy like you, Miss Carter. Thank you for telling me what you knew of my granddaughter. That she is promiscuous isn't terribly shocking. Her mother was little more than a whore when she found my son. Unfortunately my son decided that he loved her. I kept my mouth shut not wanting to lose my child over her, but I was less than pleased by it. The accident that stole my son made it so that I had to rewrite my will. My daughter-in-law will receive nothing. If I ever find my granddaughter, it will depend on how she treats me and responds to treatment. If she's like her mother then she won't receive anything either. I happen to know that the bitch daughter of mine has already spent Sheila's inheritance from her father. Sheila will be thrilled to know that if I can ever locate her." Director Bishop seems to deflate before their very eyes. Like he's given up and lost hope.
"Director, knowing that your granddaughter was from the same town as Savana actually made it so that we could trace her sell. We believe that we have located her. My men are preparing to launch an assault on the mafia that bought her. They will bring her back and if you would like, you could go in afterwards and rescue the other slaves with your men." Brice tells the Director after debating with himself. He would have rather just gone in destroyed the mafia, pulled out the bitch and then notified the feds to get the others, but it would be too risky and they might not like that.
"Nonsense. If you know her location then give it to me and I'll have our tactical team do the raid and free them all at once." Bishop responds and the anger makes him stand up straight once more.
"I can't do that sir, my men are ex special forces and are specialists in this field. They will be able to extract and retrieve your granddaughter. I won't even be allowed to go with them. I will, and if you wish you can join me, be waiting a safe distance away for them to bring her to me. If, at that time, you wish to have your men attack what will be left of the mafia and retrieve the other slaves it will be acceptable."
"Where is she, Jensen?" Bishop allows his anger to cloud his judgement at this time.
"She's about two hours west of here. That's all I'll tell you at this time. Let me know if you wish to join me or if you'd prefer to go after them later or not at all. If you don't wish to go after them at all then I'll have my men do their best to retrieve them and I'll do what I can for them." Brice watches the Director get ready to blow at his words.
"That won't be necessary, Mr. Jensen. I'm sure that my boss would love to join you when you go after that mafia. When will this take place so that we might get our people together as well?"
"I'll be talking to my men tonight. I'll see what they have to say. Once I have their answer I'll send over the specs of the place we'll be raiding so your people won't be going in blind." Brice tells Anderson and then looks over to the Director.
"My men will be shooting to kill. The ones they are going after are mafia and are trained to kill on sight. They won't hesitate and they will forcefully remove your granddaughter if she doesn't come willingly. If those conditions are alright with you..."
Bishop interrupts him, "They are fine. Do what you wish, just make sure that she comes out of there alive."
Brice smiles darkly, "They will do their best, they have experience in this and will be able to get to her if she is there. We will have no control over them having moved her or sold her. If she isn't in condition to come on her own they know how to do some emergency medical care and will then bring her back as safely as they can. Your men will just get in the way or I would allow you to take them down.
"I am having a high risk of discovery as it is, by doing this. Should even one of them recognize my men as being mine and take it as anything other than me trying to raid their females to make them mine, I'm dead. All the mafia's will be hunting me. I am doing this as a personal favor to you, Director, because I know what it's like to lose a family member to the flesh trade. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.
"Anderson, how long until our other guests arrive?" Brice turns abruptly from Bishop to Anderson.
"They are on their way. Apparently they weren't too thrilled to being moved from the others." Anderson says drily. "About an hour unless traffic holds them up, I would guess."
"KK would you escort Savana around to the unoccupied guest rooms and have her choose one for the brothers?"
"Unless you think they would prefer one each?" Brice asks that last of Savana.
"You would let me choose?" Savana writes and then smiles.
"Of course. You know them best. What do you think they would prefer?"
"If they haven't been together for long then they'll want to stay together. Maybe if there are two rooms connected like yours?"
"I know just the ones, Boss. Miss Carter, if you would come with me? If the rooms aren't good I'll take you to others if you want." KK offers her his arm and escorts her to the rooms he's thinking of.
"Like yours?" Anderson says as he watches the other two leave. "She feels safe with him as well?"
"More or less she does, yes. Her body guard, Johnson, is following behind as well. She knows that he won't allow anything to happen to her. She's fairly sure that KK won't either. But she's still fairly nervous, you might not have noticed her hand shaking as she laid it on his arm."
"No, I missed that." Anderson says thoughtfully but turns back to Brice, "But I didn't miss you not answering my other question.
"Miss Carter has her own room. Knowing that she would likely have nightmares and need someone I placed her in the room next to mine. There are interconnecting doors like hotels have in some rooms. I made sure to show her how to lock the door so she could be sure that I wouldn't enter without permission. She left it open once and locked it once when she wanted privacy earlier.
"I don't allow my men to give her any mistreatment, nor do I give her any. The last thing I wish to do is cause her even more trauma than she's already suffered." Brice is completely candid and sincere and as much as the two feds would like to disbelieve him, they can't.
"Would you thank Miss Carter for her statement. We'll be back in a few days for her to read over and sign an official statement. Hopefully we'll be able to also start looking for Sheriff Hudson and be able to take him in shortly." Anderson says and he and Brice shake hands.
"Don't forget to let me know when you go to retrieve my granddaughter, Jensen. I will be there."
"Good, I hope so. I hope your men are as well, but not until after mine are out of there."
"They will be as will be transport for the soon to be ex slaves and a doctor on site." Bishop says in a way that is practically threatening Brice.
"Wonderful! Hopefully we will all have a happy ending that night." Brice says smiling. He just wishes that they would leave. He has work to do that he can't have them be around for.
Finally the two take their leave. Brice escorts them to the front door and makes sure that they leave the estate grounds.
"Have a team sweep my office and all areas between. I don't want to have the feds leaving behind any nasty little bugs."
"On it, boss." One of his men says and leaves to get the equipment.
"Boss?" KK says from the top of the stairs. "Savana says the rooms are perfect. I've already sent for some maids to freshen the rooms up a bit. Is there anything else?"
"Where's Savana?" Brice demands.
"She wanted to rest for a bit, so she went to her room. She said that she wasn't hungry so she likely wouldn't be eating dinner. I've already instructed the kitchen to send up a tray for her and Johnson."
"Very good. Once my office has been cleared and the hall we need to get back to work."
"Very well." KK jots something on his iPad before heading off to do his own work. He really dislikes the disruptions of his day, but they are unavoidable.
