"Brice, Savana's therapist is here." KK tells him after he gets a notification from the gate guards.

"Good, have him come on in here." Brice says starting to stand up.

"Brice, I don't know what exactly you said to Savana, but she's planning on leaving just as soon as it's safe enough for her to do so. I also wouldn't be surprised if she doesn't spend much time with you until then. So if your intention had been to put space between you, I would say your words worked. Because of that she may no longer wish to have you with her when she talks or has her session with her therapist." KK cautions him before going to wait for the doctor in the main hall.

KK's words shock Brice. He hadn't realized that Savana had taken his words so harshly. He had felt her pull back and had been pleased by it, but he doesn't want her to leave. "I see," Brice says thoughtfully. He doesn't know what he said that made her feel like she wasn't wanted. She's like a breath of fresh air around there and he rather likes her being there. His men, for the most part have welcomed and are very protective of her.

"Have the men been bothering her some more?" Brice says more than a little upset.

KK shakes his head. "No, she thinks that she's being very selfish. She thinks that she's keeping you from your life. She thinks that is poor repayment for everything you've done for her so far. She doesn't want to interfere with your life even more. She said that staying in your bed will do so. That it's selfish of her. That's all, you'll need to talk to her about it, and I suggest you do it soon. The FBI agent has requested to see you about the same time as this therapist will be leaving. She might feel it in your better interest to leave here." Brice turns white at his words.

Should Savana leave before the sheriff is neutralized then there is every chance that she will be taken once more. If she is taken again there is every chance that this time she will be lost and never be found again.

"Shit." He never meant his words to make her feel unwanted. He can't think of anything that he said that would give her that impression.

"Have the therapist come in and make himself comfortable. I'll do my best to fix this mess before we come down. Let him know that I'll pay him extra for his trouble." Brice says as he makes his way out the door. How the hell is he going to fix this?

He goes to his room and doesn't see her. He knocks on her door and waits for an answer. When she doesn't open he tries the door. "Savana, your therapist is here." Brice tells her through the door. When that doesn't work he curses under his breath. He unlocks the door. He'd hoped to never have to do that. It won't help her feeling like she has any privacy or protection.

He finds her asleep on her bed and it looks like she'd been crying. He hopes that she was mourning her family and those tears weren't because of him. He goes to her and gently strokes her hair. "Savana, your therapist is here now. It's time to wake up." The bed seems to be calling to him to join her on it, but there is no time now.

"Savana, you need to wake up." Brice tells her with a little more force and gives her a little shake. "I hate to wake you up, but your therapist is here now."

Savana wakes up and is a bit disoriented. She sees Brice and gives him a slight smile, before she remembers his words. As soon as she does she tries to roll away from him, but he catches her shoulders and stops her. "I'm sorry, Savana. My words earlier made you feel like this isn't your home for as long as you wish. Would you please tell me what I said that made you feel like that? I never meant to make you feel like that. If you tell me what it was I said then I won't say those words again."

Savana looks at him and then looks for her iPad. Finding it she writes as fast as she can. "You just said the truth. I realized just how selfish I've been. I'm keeping you from your life.  I'm so clingy that you can't get your work done. If I'm sharing your bed you can't sleep or bring your female companions over. I'm keeping you from your life.

"You made it perfectly clear that there will never be anything between us. That's fine, you don't want that, I understand." Savana feels mortified as she writes this, "But at the same time, I won't be able to tolerate others having what I'll never have. Perhaps it's just a one time thing, but it's more than I'll ever have with you.

"It isn't fair to keep you from that and it's even more unfair to myself to stay where I'll see it. You've been very kind, Brice, it would be beyond wrong for me to make any demands on you. It will be better for me to keep my distance from you until the sheriff is dealt with and then leave as soon after as possible. I don't want to interrupt your life any more than I already have. I want you happy and if that means I need to leave to allow you to find that happiness then that's what I'll do." With that she hands her iPad to Brice and makes her way to the bathroom to wash her face in cold water and runs a brush through her hair.

Brice reads her words and is stricken by them. He has a feeling that she won't be sharing his bed that night. She feels that she's harming him. Harming him, when for the first time in his life he actually feels like he's doing something right. He's building something instead of destroying. He feels sick.

He shakes his head and goes to his room to retrieve the papers Savana wrote earlier about what happened to her. There is no reason for her to rewrite that unless the therapist requests it. He has no doubt that Agent Anderson will want to read it as well. That will work as a statement for now. They might require her to rewrite it, but for now it will be sufficient.

Savana comes back into the room and shows him what she wrote. "You don't need to be in there with me. If Johnson can be in the room I'll be fine." She feels comfortable around him, not like her own father, but still like a father. She will miss him when she leaves. Just the thought of leaving makes her eyes water again.

Brice reads the message and his heart hurts. He had been honored that she wanted him there with him earlier. He truly messed up before. He presses his lips down in self anger but hides it from Savana. He doesn't need her to be even more willing to leave him, here, than she already is.

He ushers her from the room down the stairs and to his study. "I don't want to interrupt your work. Is there some other place we can use?" Savana writes as they come close to the study.

Brice sighs, "That won't be necessary, Savana. KK is dealing with anything that comes up. If he can't then they will have to wait until my other meetings are through. Those meetings are with you now, unless you no longer feel comfortable with me being in there with you, and your meeting with the FBI agent afterwards. It would help things along if you would give your therapist permission to talk to the agent directly. That is, however, up to you. If you would rather tell the agent what the therapist tells you, then do so.

"But, I would still very much like to stay in there with you. I will help you, if you would like or I'll stand in the back of the room and keep my mouth shut. If you would rather I not be there I'll go to the shooting range or something." He'll likely go upstairs and try to sleep, but even as tired as he is he doubts he'll be able to sleep knowing that his words were taken so wrong by Savana.

Savana is secretly relieved, she was very nervous about being in the same room alone or with just Johnson. She has no reason to not trust either person fully, but the only one she does is Brice.

Savana looks at Brice intently for some time, just trying to decide just how sincere he is being with her. Finally she nods deciding that if he will just be going to the shooting range then he isn't doing something important.

Brice lets out a breath he hadn't realized he'd been holding and gives her a smile. He opens the door and gestures her ahead of him.

KK makes the introductions for everyone then leaves the room.

"It is delightful to meet you Miss Carter. The circumstances, not so much. We'll be talking over some very painful and raw things you've experienced. They will leave you feeling very vulnerable. Since you were betrayed, from what I understand, it is very likely that you aren't fully trusting. That is, of course, a very normal reaction. That you trust Mr. Jensen is good." The doctor had heard the rumors about him of course. There is an air about him that makes the therapist believe the rumors. He has no intentions of crossing Mr. Jensen, ever. He won't even be charging him extra for the wait. He can see the traces of prolonged crying on Savana and can imagine that it took her some time to pull herself together.

"Because of that, I'll be telling you a bit about myself.

"I am an only child. My parents died rather violently. My father in a car accident, with me in the car. My mother was out of town at the time. She pulled away from me emotionally after that and with in a year she shot herself. I found the body. Both times there was a lot of blood.

"I was placed in foster care and never given any support for the horror I witnessed. I decided then that I would do my best to help others that experience such trauma to the best of my ability.

"I will be upfront, I know that you are unable to speak because of the trauma. I don't know if I'll be able to get your voice back. That will depend on a great many things, the most important being your body feeling up to dealing with the pain you suffered. I hope to help you work your way through it and give you ways to help you cope so that your body will allow you to speak again. Another aspect will be if you feel safe enough to speak.

"Your safety was ripped away from you and this is the result. At least I believe it to be. Would you be willing to share what exactly happened with me?"  He would very much like to know just what happened to make the girl a mute.

Savana looks to Brice and then to the papers he brought down. She then writes on her iPad, "Could you tell him what I wrote earlier and I'll write what happened from where I told you to where you saved me?"

Brice nods, "She had written out what happened earlier. She would like me to read it for you, but if you prefer I can just hand over the papers and you can read them for yourself?" Brice says this but looks to Savana to make sure that it's alright with her. She nods and looks to the doctor, "She also says that she will write what happened from where she left off here to last night when she was freed."

The doctor blinks in surprise. "You felt comfortable enough with Mr. Jensen to tell him what happened?"

Savana nods. She writes, "I trust him completely."

Brice looks to the doctor, "Would you like to read it or would you like for me to do so?"

"Go ahead. Read it like she has it written, not as if you are narrating." The doctor instructs and Brice nods to himself. First person it is then.

He blushes as he reads, "I trust him completely."

This makes the doctor chuckle to himself, he is unable to hide his amusement but is able to hide his smile.

"Very well. Mr. Jensen, if you would be so kind as to read what Miss Carter wrote this morning?"
