Athena's P.O.V.

The next morning, I woke up with my annoying alarm ringing. I turned it off and snuggled back into the blankets before my phone rang.

I groaned and answered it, not bothering to see who it was. "Hello?" I answered.

"Athena, my wonderful cousin! Good morning!" I heard Bucky's voice through my speaker.

"What do you want?" I asked sleepily.

"I'm calling to tell you that you and Addison are running cheer practice today." he said. At that moment, I shot up from bed.

"Thanks, Bucky." I said as I hung up.

I got up and went to wake up Addison. After that, I went to my bathroom. I showered, brushed my teeth, blow-dried my hair, got out, and got dressed in my outfit for the day. Something comfy, yet cute. I did the same with my hair.

Once I got my cardigan on, I jumped when there was a knock on my window. I looked and saw Wynter smiling. I chuckled before going over and opening it.

"Hey, babe." she greeted as she stepped inside. "Hey." I replied.

Wynter took in my appearance, looking at me lovingly. "You're beautiful as always."

I giggled and blushed before she came over and hugged me. She snuggled into my shoulder and I smiled.

"Wynter?" I asked.

"Yeah?" she asked.

"I love you." I told her.

Her eyes lit up and she smiled brightly. "Aww, I love you too, babe."

She pulled me to her and connected my lips with hers. I smiled into the kiss and kissed her back. Wynter wrapped her arms around my waist as mine went around her neck. We continued to make out until I realized we were going to be late for school.

"We gotta go, babe." I said as I grabbed my bag.

Wynter nodded and grabbed my hand as we exited through my window. I sent a text to Addison telling her that I left with my mate so she wouldn't freak out.

I saw Willa, Wyatt, Waverly, and Wesley there and they all gave me warm smiles.

We walked together to school and I knew those two jocks who would bully me never wanted to mess with me again because I had zombies and werewolves as my backup.

Since I had only my last three class without Wynter, I took the time to hang out with the friends I had in them.

Right now, I was currently in Chemistry and was paired up with Zed. We were doing some experiments.

"So, what's it like having a werewolf as a soulmate?" he asked as he poured some substance into the beaker.

"It's good." I explained.

"Well, if you start to feel uncomfortable, just stay away from them." he told me.

I scoffed lightly. "She's my mate, Zombae. I can't stay away from her and the pack has grown protective over me." I explained.

"Whipped." he muttered and I playfully glared at him.

"Listen, I just don't trust them. Even if one of them is your mate. I just don't want you to get hurt." Zed explained.

"Bro, I'll be fine. If they wanted to hurt me, they would've done it a long time ago. The remarks have stopped and nobody tries to mess with me anymore. I love you guys still. I always will. You're the first best guy friend I had. You're practically my future brother-in-law." I joked the last part.

We went back to what we were doing before class was over and we walked together down the hallway.

It was until I saw Addison run up to me.

"Sis, come on! We've gotta get to cheer practice!" she told me before grabbing my hand. "Come on!"

"See you, Zed!" I called out as my sister dragged me with her, the both of us running to the gym.

When we got there, I quickly went to the locker room. Addison waited outside as I changed into my cheer uniform. I got my pom poms and whistle before running out.

"Let's go, sis! We will do great!" she said with a bright smile.

We both both out to the gym floor and blew our whistles. The cheer squad got into position as we smiled.

"We're so fired up to be running cheer practice. Together, we can do anything." Addison explained.

"We will nail this practice and become a team that will be beyond amazing." I added.

Some of the cheerleaders began muttering as Bree silently pointed behind us. I turned around and saw my mate and the werewolves, except Willa on the bleachers.

"Sorry, but this practice space is for cheerleaders only." my sister told them with some unexpected confidence.

Wynter laughed and stood up. "Just try and get us to leave." she threatened.

Wyatt stopped her from doing anything else. "Wynter. Some respect?"

Addison looked at me and I smiled, walking a few steps further.

"We don't want you to leave. We want you to stay. Show us what you can do. The cheer team is for everyone." I explained.

The wolves all looked at each other before they joined us. Wynter smiled at me before we all got in position.

"5, 6, 7, 8!" Addison counted.

Once we were done, everybody cheered and celebrated. Wynter came over to me and spun me around, the both of us laughing. She gave me a quick kiss before wrapping her arm around me.

"That was amazing! You all are natural cheerleaders!" Addison complimented.

"You know, Sis, I never expected for werewolves to have great talent. Guess they really are something special after all." I explained. Wynter nuzzled my neck, making me giggle.

"When Addi and I become cheer captain, I want you on the team." I told my mate.

Her eyes lit up before she kissed me again and hugged me. "Thank you, babe!"

I smiled and hugged her back. When we pulled away, the moment was cut short.

Her necklace turned a sickly green and she began coughing, her eyes flashing. "Babe?"

Wyatt turned around. "Wynter?"

My mate fell to the floor as I kept my arm around her. She coughed a couple more times before she caught her breath. I helped her up just as my 'perfect' cousin came in clapping.

"Well done, Addison and Athena! With werewolves on cheer, this election is so in the bag." he said, making me roll my eyes.

"Bucky, this isn't about politics. We always just felt like cheer could unite." I replied.

"You are going to make a great cheer captain!" he told Addison with  smile.

"I'm gonna be cheer captain!" she announced.

I smiled brightly and hugged her tightly as we both jumped up and down, everybody clapping, even the wolves.

"How can we forget our future co-captain?!" Bucky said, pointing at me.

I gasped. "Omg, I'm going to be co-captain!"

Everybody cheered and clapped as my sister and mate both hugged me tightly.

I could be a leader alongside my sister! This was going to be beyond awesome!

"I was thinking the team could move beyond trophies and we can start an outreach program." Addison told us.

"Girl, you just read my mind!" I said as we high-fived.

However, Bucky, as usual, managed to ruin it.

"Cheer is about what I say it's about. And it's about winning." he told us before he went off telling others to vote for him.

I scoffed as I mocked him. "Just any other girl I ever dated. Cold-blooded."

I heard Wynter growl a bit and I placed a hand on her cheek.

"Don't worry, babe. It was a long time ago. You're the only one I need." I reassured her. She smiled and kept a possessive grip on me.

I looked and saw Wyatt holding Addison's hand as he spoke to her. "You are a leader, Addison. But, of something a lot greater than cheer."

I looked at Wynter with a look of confusion. "We think she can save our pack. I'll tell you later."

I nodded before Addison shouted. "Zed!"

Oh, no. I turned and saw Zed angrily walk out of the gym as my sister ran after him.

My cousin walked in front of Wyatt holding up his poster. "Hi. I'm Bucky, cheer extraordinary and Athena and Addison's boss. You're following them, you gotta follow me too." he explained.

Wyatt snarled at him, making him scream and run away. "Vote for Bucky!"

I laughed as Wyatt turned around. "Good job."

"How are you even related to him?" he asked.

I shrugged. "Don't remind me."

My mate laughed as she snuggled into my chest. It was then I noticed my sister didn't come back. I suddenly felt a bit of sadness even though I wasn't.

I knew my sister was hurting, since we literally could feel what the other is feeling sometimes.

I looked at my mate.

"I need to go. My sister needs me. I'll see you soon, okay?" I asked my mate.

She whined, which made me place a hand on her cheek. "I have to go see if she's okay. There's no reason to worry about me.

"You belong to me and me alone." she told me.

"Babe, it's fine. No need to get possessive." I replied.

Wynter sighed and nodded. She cupped my cheek and kissed me on the lips and I kissed her back before she pulled away and walked off with the pack.

I got my bag and walked home. When I got there, I noticed Addison looking sad on the couch. I knew she and Zed got into a fight.

"Hey, are you okay?" I asked, putting my bag down and she shrugged.

"Zed and I had a fight. He hates me now! All because I respect a pack of werewolves for you they are and am okay with one of them being my sister's mate! He just doesn't understand!" she said as tears fell from her eyes.

I pulled her into my arms and she hugged me back. "Shh, Sis. I got you." I soothed her, rubbing her back.

Once she was calm, I placed a hand on her cheek.

"How about we make some hot cocoa, finish our homework, and then have a movie night?" I asked.

Addison smiled at me and nodded. "Thanks, Athena. This is why I'm grateful to have a sister like you."

"What can I say? We are literally each other's ride or die." I asked.

My sister and I laughed before we went to the kitchen to make some hot cocoa with marshmallows.
