Amanda woke up feeling really dizzy and looked around. She was in what looked like a prison cell, but more comfortable. Concrete walls on three sides and bars on the front. How did I get here! Oh wait. It all came flooding back. The footsteps, the rag, and her dad!

"Rise and shine sleepy head," her mother said.
"Mom what am I doing here!" Amanda replied.
"Well, I told you we had a new experiment. And well..... Your the test subject!"
"What! No! I refuse!"
"I'm sorry honey, it's too late for that."
"How could you! I'm your child! You can't do this!"
"Oh honey, whether or not you want to, we are doing it. Now!"
"No!"
"Now follow me, or I'll make you" she said grabbing Amanda's arm.
I guess I don't have a choice, she is my mom. She started walking towards a room with a bunch of other people in it. Where are we going. What are they going to do to me.
"Alright here we are," said her mom entering the room. "I'm sure your curious on what we are doing to you. Well basically we found a way, we think, to make humans more like animals. Fast as a cheetah, strong as an ape, ect. And you'll be testing it!"
Oh no! This can't be happening to me!
A few of the people came over and tied her arms behind her back and her feet together so she couldn't run. Her dad came over with a huge shot. "This will hurt, a lot!" He said laughing. All the others smirked. "Let the experiment start!" Her mom called.

Not only did the shot not do anything but Amanda was in so much pain. The liquid they injected her with felt like it was burning her from the inside. "Well that didn't work," her dad said, "we'll try again tomorrow!" I have to get out of here, they are going to kill me!

Her mom came back and motioned for Amanda to follow. She did, willingly. As they were walking out, Amanda made a break for it. She sprints down the hallway with her mom hot on her tail. Her heart starts racing and adrenaline kicks in, she gets a boost of speed. Suddenly she starts feeling tingly. Then dizzy. As suddenly as it started it stopped. Wait did I just shrink. She was half as far away from the floor as before but she was running faster than she ever had in her life. Her parents were staring at her wide eyed but had stopped chasing her. She sprinted out the door and decided to hide at the park in the tree. She practically ran up the tree then sat and hid. She got tingly again and dizzy but she was normal. I didn't shrink, I'm normal size. I guess I was just tired. But I've never run that fast in my life! Her parents walking into the park. They came to the tree but didn't see her and walked away. I'm safe, she thought relieved, for now.
