I wake up on a very uncomfortable pad with a throbbing headache.
"What the heck," I groan and sit up rubbing my eyes.

I look around in fear as last nights events flash through my head. I'm in a small square room like you'd imagine a jail cell. It's got three concrete walls and one wall made of vertical metal bars. My breaths start getting a little shallower as panic begins to set in.

The area outside the cell has what looks like a metal examining table you'd find in a vets office and sharp looking tools. I hear footsteps and quickly run to the front of my cell hoping whoever it is will help me. I'm surprised when in steps my mother and she just stands there.

"Mom, help me find the keys!" I shout trying to get her to start moving.
She just laughs and reaches in the pocket of her lab coat.
"You mean these keys," she jingles them just out of my reach.

"What are you doing, let me go!" I shout at her and my father who just walked in. My mom comes forward and grabs me roughly by the jaw.

"Your in no place to be making demands," she lets go and I rub my jaw, "as for what we do, you can just call us scientist. We work for the government trying to make an elixir to give man animal-like abilities. I think we finally found it but we just needed someone to test it on..."

She turns to me with an evil look.

"Your crazy!"
"That's what they called all great minds," she says.

I hear a loud buzz and my door clicks. More people enter the room as my parents pull me out of my cell, not without lots of struggling from me of course. They manage to strap me onto the table. My mom takes one of the needles of the table.

"Test One!" She chirps happily and injects me.

I immediately scream out, the pain flaring immediately. It feels as if the liquid is burning me, I feel it slowly spread through my blood stream scalding and destroying me inside out. The pain increases and I start seeing black dots. Soon they take over and I go into the blissful darkness.

When I wake up I have to slap a hand over my mouth to keep from crying out in pain. The burning has lessened but I feel as if my organs have been shuffled and shrunk. I quickly push against the bars standing up, to my surprise the people whom I used to call parents forgot to lock my cell door. I see a sign that reads;

Experiment 1; failure
Experiment 2; scheduled when subject wakes up

Ah hell nah! Quietly I sneak out of the room, the second I leave it though an alarm blasts through the hallways. My ex-parents come chasing after me as well as some other scientists. I feel my heart speed up and a tingling sensation spread over my body. I hear a loud snap and a sharp pain in my leg before more series of snaps and cracks follow always quickly backed by pain. I close my eyes in pain but keep running

Soon the cracks stop as does the pain. I open my eyes to see I'm really close to the floor. It looks like I fell but I'm still running, I can see the floor flying by. I glance over my shoulder to see the scientist standing there frozen. I guess fate is on my side today!

I quickly run out the automatic doors and to the park nearby hoping I can find shelter in the trees as well as a hiding spot. I see a nice thick leaved tree and scamper up it. Panting I hear the cracks start up again as well as pain but this time not as much more like pressure than pain.

I feel as if I'm growing but when I look at my hand they're normal. The cracks stop much faster this time and I relax in my tree. I sigh and close my eyes thinking of what happened in the last 24 hours. Well, that was eventful!
