Chapter 7- Falling
Before we begin, i just want to say for no reason, Viper isn't British lol
POV: Tango
I was stuck as a lizard. A freaking lizard.
I sighed inwardly, seeing as I couldn't make noise, as Stress scooped me up in her hands. We were heading off with X to go find Scar and Viper.
Ugh, Viper. She'll pay for turning me into a lizard...
Now, I did't tend to hold many grudges. But this was different. I couldn't do anything as a lizard, or salamander as Stress said, but when I was back to normal I could. I would get my revenge on Viper. Scar was a fool to bring her here.
(Bleh, sorry Tango's part is so short!)
POV: Viper
I heard a rustling and looked up from the ground. I felt terrible for doing what I did. To Tango and- what did they call him?- Grain. He didn't do anything. I heard the soft pounding of plastic on fur and more rustling in the jungle. Then something strange happened. Boom came out from the bushes.
Oh, Boom. That silly little thing. He was a ferret-cat mix, or thats what I think he is. I knew from the start Boom was an odd name choice, but it worked. He was carrying something in his mouth.
"Boom!" I said happily as he came bouncing up to me. The ferret-cat's big bushy tail was swaying and his light purple eyes held a happy expression. Scar looked up, startled. He got up and walked over to me and Boom. His expression softened when he saw the little creature. He did love Jellie, after all.
Boom dropped the thing he was carrying and it hit me. My flute case. Boom had not only found a portal, but he brought me my flute? Scar looked confused.
"Scar, look what Boom brought! Its my flute!" I told him, opening up the case after petting Boom's head. The beige little creature sat down in my lap. I put together the three pieces of my flute, setting it down gently as I moved Boom off my lap.
"How'd he even get here?" Scar asked as the little creature walked over to him. His long, very fluffy tail swaying.
"Well, i'd assume he found a portal. Its probably a small one, he can't talk like Archer or Sylvester, and im sure they would have come, given the chance. Boom is the smallest." I explained. "Boom, would you be a darling and show us the portal?" I asked the ferret-cat. He made a chirping sound and trotted off into the forest, me and Scar following behind. He stopped at a little shimmering circle in a bush. Just wide enough for him to fit. I have no clue how he managed the flute case.
"Well, theres our portal," I said, turning to Scar, who was looking at his communicator, a worried expression on his face.
"Yeah, that lookes like a portal to the Graylands, alright. But, uh, Viper, we gotta go. Stress, X, and Tango are on their way." I nodded in response and turned to Boom.
"Hey, Boom, you have to go home. You can tell the others im alright, okay?" I say softly to Boom, and he let out a little whimper before nuzzling me one last time and crawling through the portal. And then, just like that, the portal was gone. I stood up and looked at Scar. He nodded.
"Lets get going then," He said as he turned and started walking back through the undergrowth.

Nobody's POV-
Scar and Viper came out of the bush into the small clearing where they just were. Gripping her flute and flute case, Viper started to climb up a jungle tree, sitting on a branch. Scar sat down against a near by tree, pulling out his communicator.
XisumaVoid: Something strange happened. Me, Stress, and Tango are on our way to the clearing.
GoodTimesWithScar: uh, okay. On my way.
XisumaVoid: Almost there...
GoodTimesWithScar: Alright.
Scar looked up at Viper, fiddling with the keys on her flute. She was still sitting on the tree branch, shaded by the leaves. Scar got up, sighing, just moments before Stress and Xisuma emerged from the bushes. Stress looked like she had something cupped in her hands, but Scar wasn't sure. No sign of Tango.
"Hey X, what do ya need?" The wizard asked, X and Stress approaching him. They both looked very worried. Stress sat down, showing Scar what she had in her hands. A salamander?
"Uh, since when did we have salamanders here in HermitCraft? What's wrong?" Scar asked again. He looked at X and Stress, more worried.
"This... is Tango,"X said slowly. A gasp escaped Scar. "He seems to have changed from the... incident. We dont know what happened or what to do." Stress nodded.
"Where's Viper, love?" She asked. "Maybe she'll be able to help." Scar pointed over to the tree, where Viper was. She was on the branch, unfazed by the conversation. She just ran over different notes with her fingers on her flute. X sent a confused glance over to Scar. He shrugged.
Stress had now started to climb the tree. Viper noticed her, and waited for Stress to reach her.
"Hey Stress! Oh, hi X! Heh, didn't see ya'll come over. Need anythin'?" She said, her tone of voice happy. Stress took a deep breath.
"Viper, look, Tango is stuck as a salamander. We don't know what to do, and you can shift. Do you know anything about it?" She asked her quietly. Viper, head now buried in her knees, nodded. "Well, can you tell us anything, love?" Stress had shifted closer to Viper after Stress realized Viper was saying something. Viper looked up.
"He's a salamander, yeah? Its g- gonna be controlled by his emotions. The shifting. you just have to-" Viper managed to get before she stopped what she was going to say and shook her head. Stress nodded, but still looked a little bit confused.
"What were you going to finish saying? Please Viper, we need to get as much information as we can get." Stress told her, reaching out and touching Viper's shoulder. This freaked Viper out, making her lose her balance. Viper started to fall off the tree limb. She hated when people touched her. Not all the time, but most times. Luckily, the tree branch they were sitting on wasnt too high up. Yeah, it still hurt, but Viper didn't break anything. She stood up, somehow, and walked over to the salamander basking in the grass. Using her strength, she morphed. Stress was down off the tree by now, Scar and X looked worried, but staying away so they didn't spook her. Stress was wise and did the same.
Tango the salamander looked at the snake looming in front of him. Somehow, the salamander looked angry. The snake hissed, and its expression now held anger and fear. And just like that, Tango was back to human form. Viper, shifting back, looked at him, hatred burning in his red eyes.
"Emotions, see?" She said, turning to Stress, Scar, and X. She turned back to the blonde. "Welcome back, Tango," She said before walking back over to the tree and began to climb back up to the branch. Stress, Scar, and X all rushed over to Tango, his red eyes still burning with hatred.
