Akima's POV

Today I'm skipping classes with Cassim. I told Mal he was going to show me the locations of each kingdom in Auradon. Which would help us take over once we have the wand. But I personally don't know what he has planned. However, she agreed to let me go. I got a note from Cassim telling me to meet him by the Tourney Field.

So that's where I am. I'm close to the tree line though with Hayabusa on my shoulder. I was giving him some attention as he was lonely. He misses his father, who he was named after. I to miss my father, but I do enjoy having some freedom. I hear something rustle in the trees behind me and turn to see a monkey.

"Hello, who are you?" I ask it holding out my hand to it.

"That's Omar" Cassim states startling me. "Sorry" he says sheepishly. "Omar is my monkey and who is this handsome falcon?" he asks me.

"Hayabusa the second, but I just call him Hayabusa" I tell him.

"Let me guess, named after your father's old falcon?" he asks.

"Yes, though I hand reared him. Dad trained though" I tell him. "Is Omar a thief to?" I ask.

"Sure is" Cassim says smirking as Omar jumps onto his shoulder. "I believe this it yours" he says handing me my bracelet. I look at my wrist shocked.

"I didn't even feel him take it" I state as I put it back on. "Thank you" I tell him.

"He likes shiny things" Cassim states.

"So what's on the agenda today?" I ask him.

"Funny you should ask, have you ever rode on a magic carpet?" he asks me. I hear a woosh beside us and turn to see a magic carpet. "Akima, Carpet, Carpet, Akima" he says and Carpet bows.

"I've never rode anything before" I tell him honestly. "Isn't this your dad's?" I ask him.

"Yep, I borrowed it from the museum" he tells me smirking.

"You stole it?" I ask him impressed.

"Now is it really stealing when it belongs to your family?" he asks me.

"I guess not" I say smirking.

"So do you want a ride?" he asks me.

"I don't know, promise he won't drop me?" I ask him.

"He won't drop you, I promise. Do you trust me?" he asks me.

"What?" I say looking at him as he gets onto Carpet. He holds out his hand to me.

"Do you trust me?" he repeats. I eye his hand and look at Hayabusa. Then smile taking Cassim's hand stepping onto Carpet nodding my head. "If you get scared, you can hold onto me" he tells me.

"I don't scare easily" I assure him. He gives Carpet the cue to take off and he does so. I grip Cassim's arm tightly when I lurch backwards slightly. Then blush mumbling a sorry as I let him go. I notice we're above the trees and Hayabusa is flying beside us. Omar clinging to Cassim's neck. "It's an amazing view" I tell him.

"Dad used to take me flying as a kid, until mum made him give Carpet to the museum" he tells me. "See the wall on the horizon?" he asks pointing to it. I nod my head. "Beyond it is my home" he tells me.

"You're far from home" I state.

"So are you" he states.

"So am I the first girl you've brought up here?" I ask him.

"Yes" he answers. I look at him surprised. "Not many girls at Auradon are adventurous enough to go flying" he states. "So do you have any other hobbies? Aside from sword play?" he asks me. "Like swimming?" he suggests.

"I leave on an island surrounded by a magical barrier, I've never been in deep enough water to learn how to swim" I tell him.

"I can teach you" he tells me.

"I don't have a bathing suit" I state.

"I'll get you one" he states. "Then take you swimming" he adds.

"You want to ditch again?" I ask him smirking.

"What can I say? You bring out the rebel in me" he states smirking back. "So any hobbies?" he asks me.

"I actually enjoy reading on occasion" I tell him.

"That's surprising" he says surprised. "Though I do enjoy reading also in my down time" he states. We continue to fly around him pointing out each kingdom before we had lunch at a cafe in Auradon city. We then went hiking. Before returning to Auradon prep.

He walked me back to my dorm. "I had fun today" I tell him.

"So did I" he tells me honestly. "We'll do it again soon" he adds.

"I look forward to it" I tell him smiling. "Please don't tell anyone that Hayabusa is here. I don't want them to take him away" I state.

"Secret is safe with me" he assures me. "I have to get to training, see you around" he states before leaving. I go into my dorm. To see Evie doing homework and Mal laying on her bed. Mal immediately asks what I learned. While Evie asked if I kisses Cassim. I ignored them and went into our walk in robe to change.
