Lonnie
Akima's POV
Us girls are in our dorm room with Jane. Evie is sowing something, Mal doing some drawing in her sketch book and I'm painting my nails. While Jane rants about her mother. "Mom said, if a boy can't see the beauty within, then he's not worth it." Can you believe it? What world does she live in?" she asks us.
"Auradon" Mal answers.
"I would of said the same thing" I state and get gold glitter. I'm paint them black and putting gold glitter on them.
"Akima, Mal, do you like?" Evie asks showing us the dress she was working on.
"It's cute. It brings out your eyes" Mal answers.
"It suits you" I add.
"I know" Evie says smiling.
"I'll never get a boyfriend" Jane whines.
"Boyfriends are overrated" Mal tells her.
"And how would you know, Mal? You've never had one" Evie reminds her.
"True, but we're all strong independent young ladies. We don't need a guy" I state.
"Exactly, they're a waste of time" Mal states.
"I forgot to do Chad's homework! Oh, no! Oh, no, no, no" Evie says taking out her mirror and his homework. I roll my eyes as I leave my nails to dry.
"And that is exactly what I mean" Mal states.
"I'm confused, aren't you dating Cassim?" Jane asks me. We all look at her.
"No, what gave you that idea?" I ask her fighting back a blush.
"You skipped school with him today" she states.
"He gave me a tour of Auradon, we're just friends" I state. Just then a girl with a bob cut, wearing pink enters the room. I've never seen her before.
"Hey, guys! I'm Lonnie. My mom's Mulan" she states. I smirk, so we finally meet.
"Hello Lonnie, I'm Akima. Daughter of Shan Yu" I tell her.
"I know" she says smiling. "I hoped we'd meet and be able to bury the hatchet. Start fresh" she states.
"I'd love too" I say smirking.
"Great" she says with a smile. "Anyways, I love what you've done with Jane's hair. And I know you hate us, and, well, you're evil. But do you think you could do mine?" she asks Mal.
"Why would I do that for you?" Mal asks her.
"I'll pay you 50 dollars" Lonnie answers.
"Good answer" Evie says as I take the money. "I need to buy more material. Let's see, I'm thinking, we lose the bangs, maybe some layers and some highlights" she suggests.
"Yeah, yeah. I want it cool. Like Mal's" Lonnie tells us.
"Really?" Mal asks her mildly surprised.
"The split ends, too?" Evie asks and I giggle. Mal sends us each a small glare. I wave the pouch of money at her. She sighs and grabs her spell book.
"Beware, forswear, replace the old with cool hair" she says. Lonnie's hair becomes longer, lighter and loses it's bangs. It actually really suits her. She goes to look at herself in the mirror. She looks at herself in awe as Evie joins her.
"I know. I know. It looks like a mop on your head. You know what? Let's cut it off, layer it..." Evie starts to say.
"No, no, no! I love it" she tells her smiling brightly.
"You do?" Evie asks surprised.
"It looks great on her E" I tell her.
"It's just" Lonnie says and rips her skirt a little. "Now I'm cool" she states.
"Like ice" Mal and I say as Jane goes to stand by Lonnie. She rips the skirt of her dress and gasps.
"What did I just do? Mom's gonna kill me!" she exclaims.
"No, she won't" I tell her.
"So Akima, I was gonna go train. Would you like to come with?" Lonnie asks me.
"Sure, we could spar together" I say smirking. "See you girls later" I tell the others before leaving. "So do you see your parents often?" I ask her.
"Not really, dad is away a lot for the army as a general. Which is strange as there's no war" she state. "Mum taught me to fight and how to be a lady. Otherwise she never had time form me" she tells me. "What was your father like?"she asks me curious.
"It's always training with him, I was never really allowed to have fun. Until I became friends with the others" I tell her. "Honestly, it was a little lonely" I state.
"I get it, it was pretty lonely for me growing up too" she tells me. "I guess your father wants you to kill me to restore your families honour" she states. I look at her surprised, how did she know? "When I told mum you were coming, she warned me to stay away from you. But your not your dad, and I'm not my parents. You have a chance at a new life here, to be whoever you want to be. I hope we can be friends" she tells me. I see nothing but honestly in her eyes.
"I never thought of it that way" I tell her. She's right our parents have no control of us here. They can't get to us. But can we really put behind everything we were taught? "I know we were going to spar, but you've given me a lot to think about. We'll spar soon though" I assure her. She nods her head and I return to my dorm room. To see Carlos had join us and Jane had left.
Mal is going through her spell book. Evie still doing Chad's homework. Carlos sitting on the ground with a dog while on the laptop. "Hey Akima, this is Dude" he tells me. I smile and give Dude a small pat before sitting my bed.
