I was seated across Anna. We were silent but Anna then spoke.

Anna: It's strange being back in civilian life...

I then thought about what happened the day while the room was silent.

Flashback

I was at headquarters with the little girl named Katherine while my squad mates were trying to get information out of the captured German. I was told to stay by the girl's side as she seemed to have taken a liking to me. I didn't really mind. While we were sitting next to each other so she didn't get lost, her stomach rumbled and she blushed, which made me smile slightly.

Y/N: Hungry?

Katherine: Y-Yes...

Y/N: *stands up* Alright. Follow me. We'll go get some food.

Katherine: *smiles* Thank you mister.

Y/N: Just call me Y/N if you want.

Katherine: I think mister suits you better.

Y/N: Very well.

Katherine then reached up and grabbed my hand, which shocked me, but her warm gentle smile brought ease to me, causing me to smile softly back. I then escorted her to the cafeteria and when we arrived, we got food, sat down, and she immediately started eating. I smiled at her and started eating what little food I got as I wasn't all that hungry after everything had happened. While we were eating, my squad mates walked into the cafeteria.

Johnston: Dammit. We didn't get anything out of him...

Parker: He'll crack eventually. It'll just take time.

I smiled and got up before turning around. Once I turned around, my smile immediately disappeared and I walked towards my squad mates and they noticed me.

I then walked into my house and cooked us dinner and did everything else I needed to do before going to bed.
