Chapter Twenty One
Susanna's POV
A part of me cried out to turn tail and make a run for it. I shook my head to clear it. It was just the enemy trying to turn me away from what I knew had to be done. Maybe for my sake. Or may be for one of the people that was going to hear what I had to say. I wasn't sure about the why, but I knew without a shadow of a doubt that I was the who that had to speak up.
I had came earlier than necessary to be perfectly honest, but that was alright. It had give me time to think. And talk with Jake, who was behind me on this 100% percent. And most certainly pray, I've been praying now for a while. Because I need God to help me with this, for I can't do it on my own.
A knock sounded at the door of the room I was in. A woman near my age, with curling black hair, jade eyes, and a very pregnant belly, she smiled as she stuck her head in. "We are nearly ready whenever you are, Susanna."
"Thank you, Marlowe." I returned her smile, and as quick as she came she waddled away.
I whispered one last prayer, as I brushed my hair and checked my outfit. "God, help me. Give me the words."
...
L.A.'s POV
As it turned out it didn't take a whole lot of convincing anyone to go along with me. This was odd for Susanna, Lynn informed us who had been friends with her since they were kids. So several car loads of nervous people, were parading around Nashville trying to find Susanna. She hadn't left us any clue, so we were shooting in the dark.
I was in the car with Joey, Donald, and Lynn when she snapped her fingers. The oldest Stamper had control of the wheel."She did leave a clue."
"What?" Joey had been fidgeting in his seat the whole time.
"This was laying on the living room table. I don't know why, but I grabbed it." Lynn said as she handed the photo to Joey, who was in the front passenger seat.
The next few seconds pass slowly, as I watch Joey take in the photo. Then his eyes light up, he has his phone out and makes a call. "Hey dude. We have a clue. Sus left out a photo of us altogether when she had woke up after her accident." He choked on he last word, and I remembered some one saying he had come up on the accident just after it had happened.
It was kind of hard to tell things from just hearing on end of the conversation, but evidently the other car was using speaker phone. Joey taped a button on his phone and we could all hear Alan, Chad, and Caleb now.
"Maybe she went to the hospital?" Chad offered.
"I doubt it, she was happy to leave there. But she did seem different afterward." Caleb added.
The sound of snapping fingers echoed through the phone, followed by the sound of Alan's voice. "I think I've got it. Susanna mentioned something to me, not in a lot of detail, but enough that I think I know where we'll find her." Then we hung up, agreeing for Alan to show the way.
We pulled over and let the others take the lead. We took lots of turns and I was beginning to think we were lost, when they pulled to a stop and the guys hoped out of the other car, we got out too, and I murmured, "Where are we?"
Right about the time, Joey and Chad chorused while being slack jawed, "Here?"
