Joey's POV
I pull my cell phone out of my pocket as soon as reach my car in the high school parking lot. I dial Susanna's cell number and it rings twice before she picks up. "Hey, stranger." I can hear the smile in her voice and my heart warms.
"Hey, Sus." I reply.
"What's wrong, Joey?" Now concern fills her voice. This girl knows me too well. "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine. Guess who I just ran into?" I really burdened for the homeless kid I just ran into again.
Susanna tries to brigthen my mood, "Um... Nick Barre?"
I laugh. "No. Thanks your the laugh though. Remember the girl that we met at Madison and Max's wedding?"
"Yeah. She said her name was L.A. right?" Now serious Susanna is on the other end of the line.
"Yup. I had an errand to run at the high school and she happened to be there." I eased into my car, shutting the door quietly.
"Did she recognize you?"
"Pretty sure she did." I answer, running a hand through my hair.
"Joey, what are we going to do? I'm seriously worried about her."
"I know, me too. Let's pray about it again, okay?" She agrees and I lead us in prayer about this whole messy situation. As we finish an idea whispers through my heart and mind. "Sus... God just gave me an idea. I'll come by your apartment and explain soon, Kay?"
"Sounds like a plan, Stan." I can her the relief in her voice, we give our farewells and I hang up and put the car in drive. This plan may never work but it's better than nothing. Besides God would never have given me this idea if He didn't have something planned.
