Chapter 1
"Shit!"
"Language!"
"Mason! Did you see my earrings?", a boy's voice rang out.
"I did not, Jeffery. I am not your earrings' chaperone", came a reply from the kitchen.
"Oh shit!"
"Again, language."
"Jeff's eawwings wan away", came a cheerful childish reply from the living room.
"Absolutely, Jenna."
"Yeah, yeah go ahead and make fun of me."
"You are a klutz, Jeff", said Mason.
" Just like you, right", Jeffery came to the kitchen putting on his earrings that he finally found in his messy drawer. "You are hopeless when it comes to cooking, bro."
"Am not," Mason argued.
"Keep telling yourself that," Jeffery shrugged.
"At least you guys don't go to sleep with an empty stomach. Also I burnt the food once. Once."
Jeffery and Jenna just rolled their eyes.
"Ok, whatever. Listen and listen very carefully. The owner of the house is coming today. Both of you be on your best behaviour. We want to make a good first impression on them. Got it," Mason stated.
Jeffery just shrugged while Jenna clapped her hands excitedly.
"Good. So, what are we waiting for? Lets get started."
Mason, 25, was the caretaker of the mansion, who lived there with his siblings Jeffery, a skinny 17 year old who is a drag queen and Jenna, 6. Their parents Carla Smith, 45 and David Smith, 45, were both well renowned doctors. But Mason did not want to go down that path and his parents did not want to spoil any of their kids. So here they were.
When Mason heared that in a week, the owner of the house was gonna come here to stay permanently, he was scared about how he would move his siblings in such short notice. But the owner allowed them to stay as long as they maintained distance. While Mason was quite weirded out by the request of maintaining distance, he was glad that he did not have to move his siblings back to their parents house as he knew that his parents would nag him to become doctor like them and truthfully he did not want that. So he was quite glad that he did not have to move. He wanted to thank the owner for letting them stay in the mansion that he had been taking care of for six years. The owner would be arriving in two hours so he waited.
Two hours later, the doorbell rang. Mason took a deep breath to calm down and went to open the door only to freeze.
Standing in front of him was the most gorgeous man he had ever seen. His long sandy blonde hair was tied up in a cute ponytail while the strays were stuck behind his ears. His pink lips looked so ripe and his blue eyes were just so beautiful.
Mason just kept on staring at the beauty in front of him like the idiot he was. Suddenly he felt a pain on his side. He rubbed his side still staring at the guy before he heard a childish giggle that got him out of his stupor. Mason looked down at his sister before mentally kicking himself for staring at someone like a creep. Oh gosh, why! Why, why, why? He just had to embarrass himself in front of his new employer. Shit! He cleared his throat and looked at his gorgeous employer once again before extending his hand for handshake.
The man just stared at the hand but did not take it. He looked up at Mason and said, "My name is Ethan King and this is my brother Aiden", putting his arms around a shaking body who was clinging to him as if he were his lifeline.
Mason took his hand back before clearing his throat and stuttering out,"Yeah, I, um, I am Mason and these are my siblings Jeffery and Jenna. Please come in."
Ethan entered the house with Aiden. He looked around the mansion. It was huge and quite well-maintained. The living room was attached with the dining room. The kitchen was an open kitchen and was quite huge. It was attached with the dining room. A huge staircase was attached to the wall. There were three bedrooms and one bathroom downstairs. Upstairs, there was three bedrooms and one guest room. Each room had an attached bathroom. The walls were lilac and were adorned with huge windows through which sun rays were peeking through. The whole mansion was quite airy and well lit. It was as he remembered.
"Let me get your luggage," Mason said before grabbing their suitcases. "Please come with me. I will take you both to your rooms."
"Mr. Smith, my brother is going to stay with me in my room," Ethan said.
"Oh. Okay. Here you go."
Once they reached the room, Mason put all the luggage in orderly manner before leaving the duo to settle down. He closed the door behind him and walked down the stairs. He looked at his siblings who were standing near the lamp beside the couch, shaking their head at him. Mason groaned miserably. There goes his first impression.
