Astral couldn't wait for her results. What would she get? She paced around in her cave, huffing, her flag puffed out. Virgo stood in the hallway, holding a plate of dragonfruit in her talons. 

"Astral," Virgo called softly. Her scales twinkled like stars in the light. As a mother, she was always concerned about her offspring. Purple torches- picked by Astral herself- lit up the room, with a chunk of glowstone. There were rock walls surrounding her room, all brightly lit, in a cool shade of purple. The pile of long leaves and hay was stacked in a corner, where Astral slept. A pool of water was on the other side of the room, and a circular round window was on the wall. There were scrolls on a shelf, neatly stacked, and a stone desk that had a shiny piece of glowstone. The ink was stored safely in a corner of the desk with a stone stopper preventing it from falling off.

Astral's long whiskers floated around her head, whipping around as her head turned. Her nostrils flared, and her eyes were wide. "Virgo, I'm nervous!" She panted.

"It's okay, you don't have to worry about it," Virgo comforted. "It only lets you know what group you should belong in. You'll have to make the final decision on the Day of a Thousand Choices." She stepped forward and held up the plate of dragonfruit. "Have some dragonfruit."

"Yes, Virgo." Astral slowed down and took a piece of dragonfruit. It was good. What if Xing chose a different group than her? Xing was her best friend. Scorale, please let Xing be in the same group as me!

Then a high-pitched ring vibrated through the main room. "Mail," Virgo announced gravely. "I will read your results if you want."

She turned and walked out of Astral's room. Astral fell on her bed, exhausted. She opened her Gon-Watch and called Xing. "Xing," Astral started. "The results arrived at my cave."

Xing's voice sounded a little high. "Astral- I'm nervous. I didn't receive mine yet. What did you get?" 

Virgo then bustled into the room, holding a scroll. "Your results," she murmured.

She unrolled the scroll and scanned the page. Her expression remained neutral, and she nodded and turned to Astral.

"Astral, your results..." 

Astral's heart hammered in her chest. 

"First place - Starscales. Second place - Rockscales. Third place - Tidescales. Fourth place - Fernscales."

Xing's voice went quiet, and so did Astral's. "Starscales? Rockscales?" Astral's voice finally came out. 

"Yes. You'll probably have to choose between those two groups," Virgo whispered. She then placed a talon on top of Astral's shoulder. "Good job."

Xing gasped. "I got my results!" 

Astral asked, "What did you get?"

" Tidescales... Starscales... Fernscales... Rockscales." 

Astral groaned. "We have so different test results!" 

"You have to choose," Virgo murmured. Then she stalked out of the room. Then she looked back and smiled, her smile warming Astral's heart. 

"But... What do I choose?" Astral asked quietly. One choice. Stay, or leave. Which would she choose?
