Prologue
Ah, the land so full of the blooming nature, the land of purity and peace throughout. Oh great kingdom of Hyrule! May your peace last as long as the gods will!
The kingdom of Hyrule is a vast land of civil peace indeed. Hyrule Castle Town at the center of it all, with the many civilizations throughout the kingdom.
The Gorons- Muscle bound, rock eating creatures that live in the rocky areas of the kingdom, mainly the ancient Death Mountain(which isn't as terrible as it may sound). They provide the armor, minerals, and production of Rupees in Hyrule.
The Zoras- The aquatic, dedicated humanoids that reside in the waters of Hyrule. There are two main kinds, but the one that many think of are the Ocean Zoras, the more peaceful, intelligent kind. They provide the fresh water and healing knowledge to Hyrule.
The Gerudos- An all female tribe of bandits that live on the edge of the desert. Once servants of the terrible Ganondorf, they have repented their ways and now serve the King of Hyrule. Though many are still wary of them, many Gerudos have completely abandoned their ways and chose to live with the Hyrulians.
The Terminans- These people are from a kingdom parallel to Hyrule. The Hero of Time returned from here and told Hyrule of the strange land and his adventure in Termina. Soon after a safe passage was forged between the two, the two kingdoms also forged a bond of friendship through a shared hero. Though they don't believe in the same gods and goddesses as Hyrule, they are respected for their knowledge in magic and technology.
The Sheikah- This mysterious tribe have stood with Hyrule since it's beginning, and maybe before that. They only show themselves to the Royal Family of Hyrule unless otherwise told by their leader, Impa. They are thought to hold many secrets of Hyrule's past.... and maybe its future.
The Twili- After what happened during the Age of Twilight, the Twili have forged an alliance with Hyrule. The only Twili that comes outside the mirror though is the Twilight Princess herself, Midna.
There are also many places outside the borders of Hyrule that pledge their alliance with the kingdom.
The Old Kingdom- The very land that Hyrule was born from. Though the forest surrounding this land can be difficult to tranverse, many say it is worth the trip. This kingdom has its own royalty, and legends of lore.
The Islands beyond the Great Sea- It has been found(by accident rumor has it) that there are many populated islands out in the Great Sea. Many believe that it's one of these islands that the ancient race of the Kokari are hidden, but no one has ever found evidence of such. Many have found these islands and their residents to be... cartoonish in nature.
As advanced as the outside kingdoms can be, much of Hyrule prefers the old and traditional ways of lore. In fact, much of Hyrule depends on the old legends of its past. The worship of the goddesses, the reputation of the civilizations, and even the lifestyle of these people.
But as they say, for every flower that blooms, a weed will arise, thirsty for the blood of plants.
Or in Hyrule's case, for every era of peace, there is a great evil that grows in shadows, waiting for its moment of power. And when it finds its power, it takes the land into times of despair and agony. But, for every era, a hero clad in green arises like the darkness did and restores peace to the land once more.
Oddly enough however, this era's time of peace has lasted longer then others' peace had. The reincarnation of evil has not returned to terrorized the land, and thus the reincarnation of the Hero of Courage has not appeared either. Many believe that the Cycle of Destruction, the curse that has caused Hyrule so much despair through the years, was somehow finally broken during the Era of Twilight. Though many still believe that the great evil will still return, many others have often doubted the legends of old and their supposed accuracy. After all, Hyrule has yet to fall into despair despite the supposedly unbreakable Cycle of Destruction. Why would that be? Maybe it was just coincidence that this "reincarnated evil" were just bad times for Hyrule and the Hero of Courage was just a guy who did the right thing at the right time. Who knows?
Perhaps it is coincidence, perhaps it's not, or maybe paranoia on both sides. Many still cling to the beliefs. Such as naming their sons after the Hero of Courage to honor him. And maybe to hope for their son to be the next great hero, should the great evil return.
Well you never know! No one kept track of the family tree of this hero through the ages. It could be anyone's guess now.
Perhaps the Cycle of Destruction is what they have said. A mere legend indeed....

???: You're what?!
???: Dad, we discussed this. I'm going to be a knight, and that's that.
???: I thought we agreed you wouldn't leave me in this broken heap of stone!*hiccup*
???: Father, you're drunk. Again. For the fifth time this week. You don't control me. Not anymore. I'm going.
This argument had been going on for hours now. The boy had reached the age where he was free to leave his home in search of his own life. For this boy, that life was to be a knight in the Royal Guard of Hyrule. Unfortunately, his drunken father, not thinking straight as usual, was not fixing to let the boy go easy.
Guess you could say this is the reason the boy was more then happy to finally leave. I mean, who wants to live with a lush? Let alone one who was related to you.
The argument soon raged on worse then ever. Both of them said things neither would mean to say. Things they would later regret. Much later of course. This time, however, there wouldn't be a "sorry" afterwards. Ever. The boy took his things and went out the door, yelling how he wished he had left much sooner. The father yelling back how he never wanted to see the boy again. The boy left. The house fell silent. No one else lived in the house now but the father. Him and his bottles. He sat in his chair, not yet realizing fully what he said. Or what he was saying to himself.
???: Hm. Knight indeed. Like that'll happen. Who'd want that boy of his personality as a knight? Sometimes I wonder why his mother named him after that Hero of Time or Courage or whatever. *hiccup* *sigh* He'll be back.
