Little Ezzy's P.O.V

I woke up crying from a scary nightmare. There was a woman with yellow eyes and she killed a man with a big red glow stick. I gripped the blanket tight and was shaken from the scary dream. I got out of bed with the blanket in my hand and went to go find mommy or daddy.

The door opened and I looked around the dark hall. I heard a whistle thing and I followed it to a room across from mine. I stood in front of the door and it slid open. I held my blanket up to my face and looked around the room. I saw daddy laying on his bed sleeping. I quietly walked over but the door slid shut and I bumped into something.

Daddy woke up and turned the lights on. He looked around the room until his eyes landed on me. "Ezra?" He said quietly rubbing his eyes. "Sorry for waking you up daddy," I said looking at the floor. Daddy swung his legs over the side of the bed and asked, "What are you doing up so late?" "I had a bad dream," I said.

Kanan's P.O.V

I felt sympathy and a feeling of wanting to protect the kid. "Come here," I said and Ezra walked over to me. I picked him up and laid him under the covers. "You can sleep with me tonight and any other night that you have a bad dream, ok?" I said. Ezra gave me a smile and nodded his head before rubbing his eyes, yawning.

I wiped the tear tracks from his face and laid down beside him. I was about to close my eyes when I felt Ezra snuggle up into my chest. I looked down and my eyes soften at the peaceful innocence of the young child. I wrapped my arms around him when the urge to protect him filled me up again.

This poor boy has been through so much at such a young age. I promised myself to protect him and hide his past so he won't remember the horrible things that happened to him. I brushed my fingers through his hair and closed my eyes. "Don't worry Ezra, I'll always be there for you," I said and fell asleep.

*the next day*

Hera's P.O.V

I woke up and stretched my arms and legs before getting out of bed. I went to check on our new little crew member. I opened the door and saw that the bed was empty. I started to get a little worried and wondered where Ezra went. I walked over to the other empty cabin and didn't see the little boy anywhere.

I went to Kanan's cabin and opened it a little to find the cutest thing ever. Ezra was curled up on top of Kanan and Kanan's arms were wrapped around him protectively. I smiled and shut the door to leave them be. I went to the kitchen and started to make breakfast.

I could tell already that those two are going to share a strong bond with each other. I smiled at the thought but it disappeared when another thought came. Keeping and lying to Ezra about his past was one of the difficult things that was going to be hard for us. About where he came from, who he was raised by, and who he really is or was supposed to be.

I didn't need the force to know that there was something or someone on that ship that wanted to turn a little boy into a monster. Me and Kanan want to give Ezra a second chance by doing good when an opportunity happened, losing his memory. Now, we'll just wait and see what the future holds for all of us.
