He could run faster, fly higher than human vampire hunters, and unlike when he was human wherein he was a timid boy, he could now use swords but his spiritual abilities were still in their beginning stage. Even so, the elders could see in him the potential to grow stronger than what he was now.

Observing Kousei's newfound abilities, Kaori and Ryota came to understand the complexity of his existence—a being caught between the realm of humanity and the allure of the night. Their interactions unveiled a world that was both foreign and familiar, a dance of power and restraint that defined their relationships.

It was just, they were naturally creatures of the night and they prey on the blood of humans and animals. Most of all, they just have an unnatural urge to kill humans and drink blood that made them creatures of the night. It was good luck that there were vampires who hated to be controlled by their instincts and fought their monstrous desires.

Kousei's voice carried a depth of understanding as he addressed their wonder. "Cair Luthien, while it may appear as a gateway to heaven, is but a purgatory for creatures like me—a place of rest, but not complete freedom. We are bound by a higher purpose. I am already dead and I have learned to accept that. I have died. Once I decided to accept that I am a vampire, the Kousei you once knew was still me but also not me. I am here but also not here. It also meant that I chose to stay as a vampire as I have unresolved desires..."

"Let us stay beside you, okay? You are Kousei. We can still see you and that meant you're still here with us," Ryota begged him. "Do not stop us from our choice to become vampire hunters and hunt those wild vampires!"
