Lewis stretched out on his bed, ankles crossed and hands resting on his chin, watching Charles and Lando, who were sitting on the rug Carlos had conjured for them years ago, playing a rather tense round of exploding snap. As a card blew up in Charles' face, Carlos entered the room with a huff. "Why have I just had an angry Piastri questioning me?"
"I know, I had the same thing yesterday," Lando said, grinning at the muffled curses being emitted from Charles. "He seemed to think he saw you last night or something which is stupid," Lando added at the incredulous look Lewis was giving him, "I basically told him to stop trying to spread shit or whatever he's now doing about you and left." Carlos internally sighed with relief, that should get him off my back for a while then.
"Penso che Oscar possa avere un'ossessione per te, Carlos." Charles commented as he tried (and failed) to shake the ash from the cards off of his robes. (I think Oscar might have an obsession with you, Carlos.)
Carlos and Charles, coming from different countries than most Hogwarts Students, were taught other languages at a young age to help them fit in, they had happily discovered they both understood Italian, enabling them to cause all sorts of mischief around the ancient school.
"Vorrei che non lo facesse," Carlos frowned. (I wish he didn't).
"Oi, Inglés por favor," Lando demanded in broken Spanish, causing a wince from Carlos.
"You're learning, I'll give you that."
Soon after, Carlos left Gryffindor Tower in search of Professor Alonso. His suggestion of where to look had been correct, which made him realise that Alonso had to know more than what he was letting on. Deep in thought, he didn't notice Oscar in front of him until he stopped to speak to a portrait that belonged to a cousin of his Grandfather to ask if Fernando was in.
"Joder, ¿qué quieres ahora?" He asked, internally rolling his eyes when he realised Oscar had no idea what he was saying. "I had to learn Inglés for everyone else, it would be nice for someone to learn español for me, no? I asked: What do you want now?"
"Absolutely nothing, just so happened to be walking through at the same time. Unless you want something?" Oscar challenged, Carlos had to crack some point.
"No hay nada en esta tierra que puedas ofrecerme, Piastri." Fuck that, Oscar didn't deserve Carlos speaking to him in English. It wasn't his problem if Oscar couldn't behave himself. "Adios idiota." Carlos sarcastically waved before heading through the door.
"Ah, Carlos, I was waiting for you," Fernando offered Carlos a seat.
"Sorry, Piastri tried to corner me outside," he spat. He would keep his composure in front of Oscar but there was no need to in front of Fernando. "I came to visit because I need to know more about the Chamber of Shadows. Lando and I both know that you know more than you are telling us. He stares unblinkingly into Fernando's eyes, a stare that he had mastered at a young age. Fernando broke the contact, "Some secrets are best left undisturbed, Carlitos, you-"
"No, you're keeping something from us. Lando and I have set out to this, why won't you let us? Tell me what you know," Carlos pushed. He didn't understand why Fernando would withhold vital information from him; he trusted the man with his life.
"I can't do that Carlos, for reasons you are too young to understand, don't give me that look," he said calmly as Carlos opened his mouth to argue. "Like I said before, if you have any questions, do not come to me, I meant it. I want nothing more to do with the Chamber, not again."
"See, here you go, 'again'. What do you mean, 'again'?"
Fernando sighed, "The most I am willing to tell you is go to the restricted section-"
"We did, there was nothing there. We can't find the location, let alone anything else!" Carlos struggled to restrain from yelling.
"The only other hint I can give is a fragment of a map, however you must promise me- I mean it, this is serious, you must promise to not let this out of your site, ever. Do you understand? I can't say anymore than that." He wiped a tired hand across his face. If he truly could help the boy he thought of as a son, he would.
"You have to understand that the Chamber is dangerous, it's not so simple as discovering it and claiming the treasure inside. It's damaging, not only physically, it will test your emotional stability and morals. Those worthy, it doesn't just test your strength, it tests your truth, and sometimes, the truth isn't something you can run from." At this he stared pointedly at Carlos who felt something burn deep within him. He had no idea- "You don't get to say that to me, you have no right-" Carlos cut himself off and stormed out, door slamming behind him.
"Lo siento Carlitos pero estas cometiendo un grave error."
