Chapter 9: Let's Start A Guild

-Third Person P. O. V.-

Mavis yawned and blinked awake, happy that she was waking up in the arms of the person she loved. She looked outside and noticed that the rain had stopped. She carefully got out from under the blanket, as to not wake Zeref, and walked outside the cave. She didn't go very far, standing only a few feet away from the cave entrance. She felt the sunshine and the morning dew on the grass on her bare feet. Birds were chirping in nearby trees and only a few clouds were floating by in the sky. She went back inside and sat down next to Zeref, patiently waiting for him to wake up. She glanced outside once again, admiring how the terrible storm from the night before turned into the colorful day that it was now. It was a beautiful morning. Little did she know that it was going to change very soon.

-Back in the small town-

"You there!" the stern voice of the captain barked at the vendor.

"Woah there, what seems to be the problem?" the cheery vendor replied.

"We're looking for The Fairy Tactician and The Black Wizard Zeref!" the captain said, lowering their voice from a loud yell to a normal volume, as to not spread panic into the market, despite many people staring at her for yelling in the first place. "Have you seen either one of them?"

The man paused, thinking. "I'm not familiar with those two names. Can you describe them?"

The captain groaning in annoyance. "Have you seen a little girl with bare feet and a white-pink dress or a young man with black hair wearing some kind of black clothing?"

The man put his hand to his chin, remembering the two people. "Can't say that I have." he lied, still smiling. "If they pasted through this town, they surely would have come to the market here. Maybe you should check somewhere else."

The captain groaned again before huffing a "Thank you, sir." at the nice man then stormed off, followed by the two guards.

Hmm. My old friends seem to be in trouble. I should warn them. I remember they left towards Lover's Point when they bought their lanterns, so they probably went to the picnic area after that. I should look around that clearing and a bit of the surrounding woods to find them. I have to do what any decent person would do in this situation. Help true love. The man closed up his booth and headed off towards the picnic clearing, whistling a happy tune.

-Mavis P. O. V.-

"Good morning, Zeref." I said as he opened his eyes and yawned. He looked extra cute with his hair all messy and tousled from sleeping.

"Good morning, Mavis." He said as he stretched and matted his hair back to it's regular state. "Did you sleep well?"

I thought for a moment to find the right word. "Heavenly." I replied. That was exactly how good of a sleep I had.

He smiled at me. "I slept heavenly as well. Despite having a stone cave wall instead of a pillow."

I giggled at his comment and he giggled with me. "Silly." I called him and kissed his head. "Now get up. What's the plan for today?"

He gave me a confused look. "What do you mean? Don't I have to get you back to your town and to your mother?"

A cold chill ran up my spine. My mother. Do I really want to go back to her and all the military tactic training and all that? If I do, I'd get to go back to school and see my friends. Susan and Crystal. Though, Zeref can't go to my school. My mother made me attend an all-girls school to 'prevent me from getting obsessed with boys and losing focus in my lessons.' I didn't care about any of the boys back in that town. I only care about Zeref. I'm sorry to have to leave my school and my friends, especially Susan and Crystal, behind, but I have to stay with Zeref. I am his light. Either way, I wouldn't get to see them again after I finish school. My mother would drag me off to the magic council for the rest of my life. I don't want that. I want to be with Zeref. I want to live a fun life.

I want to start a guild.

"No. I'm not going back to her. I want to have a life with you and not with the dumb magic council." I pouted a bit, acting like a little girl. Which I am.

He smiled at me, as if saying that respects my decision and wants to have a life with me too. "Well, then. What's the plan? What do you want to do for a living with me? I have no preferences."

I smiled and said the only eight words that I wanted to say right then. "I want to start a guild. With you."

He smiled and came over and kissed me cheek. "That sounds great. I want to do that too. So, it's settled."

"Let's start a guild."
