When Blaze parked the car and turned it off, both of them were hesitant to get out. Each for different reasons. Garroth was terrified knowing that he was now a good forty-five minutes away from S.T.F where he could be kept safe. Blaze on the other hand didn't want Garroth to notice him limping slightly because of his leg, which would make him explain what happened last night. The two just sat in the car for bit, not knowing why the other wasn't moving.
"So um...you're place is at the top?", Garroth asked, trying to delay.
"Yep! Do you need help with your bag?", Blaze adder, pointing to the duffel bag in the back seat.
"Nah, I'm good,", The other shrugged, reaching bag and pulling it up, accidentally hitting the redhead on the side of his head. "Oh my Irene! I'm so sorry! Did it hurt?"
The blonde reached out and tried to inspect the area but, was interrupted by Blaze chuckling.
"It's fine! I forgot how much you care about these kinds of things,", He said, taking the blonde's hands. Secretly, it just cemented the fact that he couldn't tell him about his leg. It would just cause him too much worry. "Come on P. Let's head up."
Garroth nodding before checking the bracelets on his wrists to see if they were still activated. While he was distracted, Blaze was able to open the car door and hoist himself out. He prayed that the pain killers he took earlier were taking effect now.
The blonde, with the duffel bag on his shoulder, got out of the car as well. The two walked out to meet each other and Blaze thanked Irene seeing that walking normally was possible. He took Garroth's hand again and guided him into the lobby from the parking lot. The two of them went up to the front desk to let them know that Blaze would be having a guest for the next couple of days. Garroth was hit again with the fact that he was wearing pajamas when he saw how nice the room was. Embarrassed that he wasn't dressed properly, he let Blaze do all the talking.
Once that was done, they went over to the elevator to head on up. Blaze told the man inside the floor number, showing his ID even though the guy knew he was. Garroth was shocked about how strong he looked for a bellhop. He looked more like a bodyguard than anything. The two were taking up to the top floor and the doors opened to the entrance area. Blaze and the guard saw how surprised Garroth already looked, the man smirking at Blaze.
"You finally brought someone home,", He whispered to the redhead. "I also noticed that you didn't come back last night..."
Blaze playfully rolled his eyes at him before thanking him. The two walked out of the elevator, the doors closing behind them, and Blaze went to put his car keys and wallet in their usual places. Garroth just let his eyes wander around, not taking the initiative to go further into the penthouse.
"Blaze, this place is beautiful,", He said, looking back at the redhead.
"Thanks,", Blaze replied. "Would you like a tour?"
"I'd love one,", Garroth said, politely even though he was very excited on the inside. He's never been in a place so big before.
Blaze wasn't as thrilled. He didn't want Garroth to think he's some high-class individual. So, during the tour, he made sure to make it clear that he wasn't paying for any of this. The living-room's thousand dollar custom couch? The government's. The large gourmet kitchen? The government's. The home theatre system? The government's. He did it subtlety. Like "I could never afford something like this" or "it was a generous gift".
Unfortunately, Blaze forgot that Garroth was smart and picked up on all these cues. As they walked down the hall of the second floor by the all the bedrooms, the blonde stopped him and said;
"Blaze, stop acting like you don't deserve it. You're the hero of Scaleswind. For the past decade now. Having this is a reward for your sacrifices that you make to save lives."
Blaze sighed and said; "It's more complicated than that Gar. But, I appreciate you trying to make me feel better about all of this."
Garroth frowned but, let Blaze continue on with the tour. They ended the tour with the master bedroom and bathroom. Garroth was really impressed by it all. The view was what made it perfect though. He stared out through the windows, amazed at how breathtaking the city still looked. Blaze smiled to himself. He was just a happy that Garroth was relaxing a bit.
The blonde turned around, grasping the duffel bag strap and asking;
"Where would you like me to stay?"
Blaze chuckled and took the bag gently away from him. He threw it onto the bed and said; "You'll he staying here with me."
A red tomato blush appeared on Garroth's face as he stuttered out; "H-Here? I-In the s-same bed?"
"Why yes,", Blaze joked, now intentionally teasing him. "Washer said I need to keep a constant eye on you. Don't worry about the space either. It's a king size bed." He snaked his arms around the blonde's waist and said; "I do hope you're not a snorer."
Garroth couldn't speak in that moment. He was so flustered. Sleeping in the same bed with someone was something that Garroth hadn't done before. He had shared a bed with his brothers as fun little "sleepovers" when he was a child but, that was the extent of it. Now, it was Blaze. Someone he had romantic feelings for and he can only assume he feels the same. Garroth wanted to be mature about this. He was now an adult after all. It was just hard...
"Look P. If you're seriously not comfortable about it, I can show you another-"
"N-No! It's fine. I d-don't mind,", The blonde mustered out. "I-I do snore though. So b-be prepared for that..."
Blaze now felt some heat come to his cheeks. He didn't act flustered like Garroth did but, he was caught off by it. He was really only joking. He didn't think Garroth would be comfortable...yet, he wasn't against it.
"O-Okay,", He said. "Why don't you wash up and get changed? I'll make breakfast since I assume you were rushed out the door."
Garroth nodded his head; "Thank you. What about you?"
"What about me?"
"Don't you need to freshen up? You look like you've been up all night."
"Eh, I'll do it later,", Blaze shrugged, now becoming aware of his leg wound again. "Now, get ready. We're gonna have a fun day at home. Just the two of us."
Garroth laughed a bit and said; "I'm on it."
"Great! Then meet me in the kitchen for the best breakfast you've ever had!"
"Doubt it."
Blaze walked over to the door and said; "It's obvious you've never had my breakfast burritos before."
"Knowing you, I don't see you as a chef,", Garroth teased, grabbing clothes out of his bag.
"You're going to eat those words,", Blaze announced, before leaving the room, shutting the door behind him.
The blonde smiled to himself. He was genuinely happy that he was here. Bed and all.
