The jet landed smoothly outside the S.T.F headquarters. Elizabeth Washer, the head of the agency, stood promptly by, waiting for the the two who were sent on the mission. Her pixie cut blonde hair blew slightly in the late afternoon breeze, her pale complexion adorned with icy grey eyes that could slice through anything it seemed. She kept herself dressed professionally but some can't ignore the tattoo above her eyebrow of the word "hope". Not to say that tattoos were a bad thing. It just intimidated people. Aphmau, second in command basically, was right by her side. She wasn't worried about the two's injuries since she knew they would be fine. She just needed to drag her husband's butt to the car to drive home to get ready for the fundraiser that evening.
The hatch opened and the two men came out, looking mildly distraught from what had happened an hour or so before. Laurance immediately went to Aphmau to embrace her. Blaze on the other hand handed Elizabeth the folder that he had found.

"There was nothing major resigning in the base ma'am. It was completely abandoned, recently. They forgot this though and I thought your investigation team would like it,", He reported to her. She took it and opened it to see just the front page. "I see,", She responded. "Thank you Agent Carpenter. I'm sure that this will be useful. But, I can tell you aren't telling me something. As well as you Zvhal."

Laurance looked at Blaze wearily. They both agreed to not speak of the voice but, if Washer knew, there was no getting around it. The red head sighed and said; "I'll tell you later. It's something that shouldn't be discussed here."

"Meet me in my office than in ten minutes. I want to address this before the event tonight,", She said sternly. With that she turned and went back inside. Blaze swore after ten years of working with her, she has never seen her smile.

"What is this all about?", Aphmau asked curiously, her face lighting up. She is always too afraid of going on missions herself but, she enjoys hearing about them from her husband and friend.

"Blaze heard a voice-", Laurance said before getting interrupted by Blaze saying; "It's probably nothing though."

"Really? Guys, after doing this for a decade, don't you think that everything is something at this point?"

"She does have a point bud,", Laurance breathed out to Blaze, still holding her hand. "You might want to take this more seriously."

"I am. Just not today,", Blaze assured him. "I need to focus the event later tonight."

"So you are going?", Laurance asked, shocked at Blaze's sudden change of mind.

"Wait, you weren't going to go?", Aphmau immediately asked after, shocked for a whole different reason. "Blaze, this is important! You can't just skip it!"

"You both know how I feel about Garroth's family. They look at me like I could've done better protecting their son...the worst part of it is that they are mostly upset with Protector." Blaze hated the fact that they couldn't tell the Ro'Meave family the truth. If anyone deserves to know, it's them.  "But, the reason I changed my mind is because you're right about it being a good cause. I'll just have to suck it up."

The other two looked at each other with smiles, knowing how ridiculous their friend was being, before Aphmau said; "All you have to do is say hello to them as usual. That's it, if it makes you feel better."

Laurance and Aphmau had a different perception of the Ro'Meaves. Sure, not a in depth and personal one but, they thought they had good intentions nonetheless. They could understand though why Blaze could be not at ease around them but, they knew if he didn't go, the press would be all over it.

"Remember to wear your mask,", Laurance reminded Blaze. "We don't need any thing dramatic happening to make the relationship between us the Ro'Meaves worse."

Blaze laughed a bit, sort of shocked that Laurance would think he would forget. "Well, now I'm off to go speak with the stone cold boss. I'll see you two at the event...unless you want me to babysit."

"Go!", The couple said simultaneously, pointing in the direction of the building. Blaze raised his hands in surrender and shrugged saying; "Only a joke, geez!"

With that he jogged off the landing site and into the main headquarters. Blaze was always in awe one he saw the place. It was perfectly spotless, which is remarkable since everything was either white or some "off-white" shade. Tall windows were on every wall, an elevator area in the middle to get from floor to floor. The lobby was on the first floor and it was the time of day where people were rushing to get home for the evening. It was moments like these when Blaze realized how many people actually worked here. To the right were office spaces and break rooms. On the left was an open lounge area with a coffee and tea bar. At least this place treat the non-super employees with some respect. The main desk was what people were greeted by walking through the front door. Luckily Blaze didn't have to deal with Chad, the greeter, today since he entered through a door that not only led to the landing sites but, an outdoor eating and training area.

Blaze went to the elevators and pressed the button to wait for one to open. When one did, a few people rushed out before he could enter. He pressed the button for the second floor where all the other offices and conference rooms were. It had a similar design as the lobby but, all office space except the entry room which just had a seat area with another coffee and tea bar. To the left of him was Agent Washer's office. Her office was surrounded with just glass, including the windows, except walls that connected to other offices. Blaze could already see her waiting as he walked over.

He entered her office, politely asking if she was ready. She nodded and let him sit at her desk. She pressed a button, once Blaze shut the door behind him, under the desk that tinted the windows so no one could see inside.

"You know...some people just get curtains,", Blaze said, setting his tone for the meeting. Washer wasn't amused but, had grown tolerant of the red head's jokes.

"What happened at the base in the Amazon? You and Agent Zvhal seem to be hesitant on telling me everything,", She asked, getting straight to the point. Blaze sat up and got professional, knowing that joking will probably make it harder for her to take what he was going to say seriously.

"I went into this lab that had a working table inside. I don't know where it was used for human or animal but, my theory is that they are running some tests there that we aren't aware of." She looked at him like what he was saying was a waste of time but, he continued. "After getting the file, I inspected the table and I heard a distant scream before pulling away. My spirit guide, Amina, told me she sensed a magic energy from the site. She's unsure what it is though."

Now this was concerning for Elizabeth. To her, it meant that there could be either another threat or a magic user who could be dangerous. The S.T.F was place where maybe they could help this power control themselves like they did with Blaze over the years. Unfortunately, she feared that it might be too late if that's the case. These bases have been popping up for years at this point so, this "lab" and "Project Leader" could have been in the works for a while now.

"What do you need from me?", She asked Blaze.

"I should be asking you that question. I know Amina will tell me if she comes up with anything but, I want to make sure you're okay with waiting."

"For now yes but, tomorrow, I want you and the Zvhals with a few of our researchers to have a further in depth analysis of this situation. Let's not worry about it tonight. The fundraiser doesn't need officials stressed about something."

Blaze nodded and said; "That's all I needed to tell you. I could always go back if you would like."

"That might be an option...but now you need to get ready for the event. We'll discuss more later. You're dismissed."

"Thank you,", Blaze said, shaking her hand before leaving.

Blaze went back to the elevators to go to the third floor where he would grab his things from his locker.

"Any theories Amina?", Blaze asked the spirit as he entered in the moving box.

"Not yet...I'll probably think of something though,", She sighed.

The third floor was basically a training floor with some living quarters. Blaze originally lived on the floor when he first came to the S.T.F. Laurance as well. He went into the locker room next to the gym where He kept my things. He retracted his suit and grabbed his jacket from his locker, as well as his bag that he left there that morning.

"Amina...do you think it's something I should worry about?", He asked her, walking back to the elevator once again to leave the building.

"I don't know...we'll just have to wait and see."
