Josie Saltzman looked down at her paper and sighed. She lied to her friends. Zach Dempsey was not first. Justin Foley was, but she could never tell her sister that. She stood at her locker, completely out of it, when someone showed up next to her and knocked her out of her daze. "Hey, Jo."

She looked up to see Zach standing next to her. "Hi, Zach." She smiled, hiding her paper in her locker.

"You're my number one." He chuckled, pointing down at his list of names.

"Yay." She forced a smile as she closed her locker.

Zach let out a sigh, leaning against the locker next to Josie's. "Did you want to do something tonight? Maybe hang out at Rosie's."

Josie did not even think before responding. "Yeah, sure." She immediately regretted her answer.

"Cool, I'll pick you up at seven." With that, Zach left Josie alone at her locker.

She frowned, leaning her head against her locker. Why was she doing this to herself?
