6.0 You're A Drunk Girl, And He's Justin Foley

Josie Saltzman sighed as she looked up from her phone. Lizzie Saltzman and Hope Mikaelson we're still at the Saltzman house getting ready, but Josie felt awkward just alone with her date. Zach Dempsey was standing in front of her with two glasses of punch. "I'm just warning you, there's some shit in the punch."

"Whatever." Josie shrugged, taking the glass from him. "Thank you."

"Yeah." Zach nodded as he took a sip from his cup. He looked down at the girl and smiled. "You look really beautiful tonight."

Josie looked up at him and chuckled. "Shit, thanks, dude." She watched as his face fell immediately after she called him dude, and she felt bad. It was a habit of calling Zach dude because he had been her best friend for years.

The two stood in silence for a minute before Bryce Walker approached them, slapping Zach's back. "Woah, buddy!" He exclaimed as Montgomery De La Cruz appeared as well. "You finally got her. I'm happy for you, my man."

Josie looked down at the ground. "Thanks, Bryce." Zach stepped closer towards Josie as he noticed her uncomfortable expression.

"Where's your sister?" Bryce chuckled, looking around the dance. "I brought a condom with her name on it."

"Fuck you, Bryce." Josie spat before looking up at him. "She's not here yet, and I really don't want to hear about you fucking my sister considering I don't really like you."

Montgomery burst into laughter. "Oh mom, she really just roasted you to pieces." The two boys left Josie and Zach alone.

"I'm sorry about him." Zach sighed as he watched the two boys leave. "He's a fucking asshole."

"Why are you friends with him, then?"

Zach shook his head. "I really don't know."

Josie nodded as a slow song came on. She held out her hand. "Do you want to dance, Zachy?"

"Of course." Zach smiled as he took her hand and led her onto the dance floor.

The girl wrapped her arms around Zach's neck loosely as he placed his hands on her waist. The two swayed to the music. Josie watched Zach carefully, and for the first time, she realized how beautiful Zach was.

Throughout the night, Josie and Zach drank more and more as they enjoyed themselves. Zach has left Josie alone to go to the bathroom, so she just danced to the music by herself. "You look beautiful." Josie turned to see Justin Foley standing behind her. "Like really beautiful."

"Thanks, Foley." Josie giggled as she brushed a loose piece of hair behind her ear. "You look nice, two."

Justin smiled as he walked closer to the girl. "Why, thank you." He chuckled as he looked down at her. "You shouldn't have come with Zach."

"Let me guess, I should have come with you."

"Well, obviously." Justin sighed. "I wouldn't have let you get this drunk."

Josie shook her head. "I'm having fun."

"You can have fun and be sober."

"You're sober right now?"

Justin nodded. "Zach already asked me to drive the two of you home tonight, so no drinking for me."

"You're missing out." The girl smiled, biting her lip and stepping closer towards him.

Josie has always been attracted to Justin Foley, and she never knew why. He had always been an asshole to her sister. That should have been a turn off, but it wasn't. His whole attitude just made her want him more.

He was the complete opposite of Zach. Zach was sweet and thoughtful, while Justin acted like he didn't give a shit about anything. Maybe that was why Josie had never thought of Zach in any way other than being friends. It was messed up logic, but it was true.

"Are you flirting with me, Josie Saltzman?" A smirk appeared across Justin's lips as he stepped even closer to the girl. "Because, I don't think you're date would appreciate that very much."

"You're the one who told me I looked beautiful." Josie spoke as she tapped his nose. "I would say you are the one flirting with me."

Justin shrugged. "You caught me." He licked his lips, looking down at Josie's. "But, how can I resist."

"It's really fucking simple, Foley." Josie jumped away from Justin when she heard Zach from behind her. "You just don't flirt with her when she's my date."

"Sorry, dude." Justin chuckled, leaving the two alone."

Josie looked up at Zach and furrowed her eyebrows. "I'm sorry. I don't even know what happened."

"You're a drunk girl, and he's Justin Foley."

"Yeah, but I shouldn't said anything back." She frowned, looking down at the ground. "I'm sorry, Zach."

"It's okay, Jo."

She looked up and smiled. "I'm happy that I'm here with you, though."

What she said wasn't a lie. Over the course of the night, she had enjoyed her time with Zach and even started to feel like she could be happy with him.

The dance ended, and Justin dragged both Zach and Josie into his car to bring them home. Josie was put in the passenger seat because her house was further away from the school than Zach's. Josie fell asleep during the ride and woke up to Justin carrying her into her bedroom. He set her down on the bedroom and noticed she was awake. "Hey, sleeping beauty." He chuckled as he sat down next to her.

"I probably look like a fucking mess. Don't lie to me." She looked into her mirror and saw her mascara smudged all over her face.

"You still look beautiful." Justin chuckled as he stood up to leave.

Josie frowned. She really did not feel like being alone that night. She grabbed onto Justin's hand, causing him to look down at her. "Can you stay the night? I don't really want to be alone right now."

"You sure? Do you want me to call Zach or something?" Josie shook her head. "Okay. Sure." Justin shrugged. "I'll sleep on the ground."

"You don't have too." She scooted over on her bed, making enough room for him. She patted the side where he would sleep.

Justin looked at the bed and shook her head. "If Zach found out, he would kill me."

"We don't need to tell Zach." She furrowed her eyebrows. "Also, nothing's going to happen. I just really don't feel like being alone right now."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes." She nodded. "And besides, Zach and I aren't dating."

Justin raised his eyebrows. "He seems to think you are."

"We aren't." Josie shook her head as she stood up to change out of her clothes. "I don't even really know how I feel about him." She tried to unzip her dress, but she couldn't reach the zipper. She turned to Justin. "Can you unzip me?"

Justin nodded as he walked up behind her and slowly unzipped her dress. He turned away as the dress fell down her body, not wanting to make her feel uncomfortable. "So, you don't like Zach?" He sat down on Josie's bed, still not being able to look up at her.

"I didn't say that." Josie spoke, throwing an oversized t-shirt over her body. "I just said I don't know." She moved to sit next to him. "I just never thought of him in that way, and I don't want to hurt him by turning him down, you know?" Justin nodded as he listened to the girl speak. "He's always been there for me, and I don't want to hurt him." She sighed. "And then tonight, it was weird. Like I kinda started feeling things. So, maybe that will keep going, and eventually, I'll just fall in love with him."

"I don't think that's how it works." Justin shook his head, chuckling. "I think you have to be attracted to someone instantly." Josie looked up at him and noticed that he was looking down at her lips. Her cheeks heated up as she quickly looked away. "Uh- I think I'm just going to sleep on the ground."

"You really don't have to." Josie grabbed onto his head, causing him to look her in the eyes. "There's plenty of room on this bed." Justin nodded as the two laid down, looking at each other. They eventually fell asleep.
