Winter Heaven
The wind picks up softly
As the tree leaves rustle against each other
And the silver chimes hit gently.
Ding.... dong.... ding.... dong....
The snow glitters on the ground
As I lie in the white, velvety abyss,
Numb to the cold,
Or maybe there never was one.
Coming from no where,
A gentle fire warms my face and body.
Lying next to me,
A person I cannot yet identify.
My throat fills with the comfortable burn of hot chocolate
As more snow begins to fall.
Glistening flakes drift onto my face,
All amazingly different.
It's as if time has stopped
Replaced with instead this winter heaven.
Where there is no pain or hurt,
Only snow and hot chocolate.
I never want to leave, i think,
As I submerge myself deeper
Into the diamond ground,
Farther into the snowy peace.
