I looked over to the figure in the distance that was still running, I recognized the figure..

That was Spike.. Twilight's dragon... Why was he running? And why did I feel like I had to protect him from what he was running from?

I followed what my heart told me to, and went after Spike. As I began to pick of speed and get closer to Spike, I noticed something.. He had an egg in his claws. Could he be running from.. Them? No, no, they wouldn't do that again, would they?

I looked to my right while running, and I got confirmed of what I was thinking.

"HEY! GET BACK HERE YOU LITTLE PONY LOVER, DRAGON!" The same red dragon I had unfortunately met, yelled. He and his group ran through the trees, trying to find an exit to cut Spike off, and steal the egg. The red leader dragon looked at me.

"THE MUTT IS WITH YOU, TOO!!? COME ON, BOYS! LET'S GET 'EM!" He shouted again, and the group laughed as they followed his commands.

Spike looked back to me, as he didn't realize I was there before. "Oh, hi, Shadow! What are you doing here?" Spike said in a worried, but happy tone.

"Nothing more than getting you home safely, but that tis it." I said neutrality.

"Oh, okay!" He said, with more confidence. I looked back to my right where the dragons were, and seen they had gotten ahead. But for an instance, one small step ruined the chances of the red dragon and his group catching up to us and cutting us off, as he misplaced his foot and fell to the ground, along with all of the other dragons falling beneath them.

Spike and I still continued to run. For all we knew, they could get back up and easily catch us... But luckily for us, we were at the border of the Everfree leading to Ponyville.
