My paws hit the ground softly, because I didn't have pawpads on my hooves. Lucy and Echo, however, landed with a thud. But they weren't hurt, us canines know how to land just as soft as felines... It's just we have to realize in time before we hit the ground.

I looked around at the cave, and it was surprisingly bright. No caves that I had ever been in had ever been naturally lit... Interesting... I thought.

The grayness tones of regular caves, were not the case in this ancient cave. This cave was more of a greenish, coral color... This cave was different than all of the other caves.

This cave was shorter than it's bigger appearance from the surface.. It really just seemed like a big opening, and no where to really go. I could tell that the cave was very old, because once again, there were vines and decayed leaves everywhere.

"Where should we start to look?" Echo asked. I looked over at a wall of the cave, and I saw some ancient writing.. It didn't look like any pony writing, no, it looked like... Runics!

"Heeere!" I said, trotting over to the wall and getting very excited to read the runics. Whenever I read runics, I was always filled with knowledge of ancient pasts, because that's what runics were for-

Lucy and Echo looked at each other and tilted their heads, but were soon found to be closely trotting behind.

I read the runics very closely, but quickly at the same time. Information filled my head about the past of a creature.. Was this the writing of the Chimera?

The runics read: "It's very lonely down here, but at least there is room. ....Help! Some mysterious force has consumed a part of me.. I feel like I'm going insane-" The last words read, and I was shocked.
