Shadow remembered back to when she was was a young filly, Miss Cheerilee threatening to take her sister to the orphanage because she was running away almost every night. 

"No. You will not take me to that... To that.. Disgusting place you call an orphanage." Shadow shouted in anger. 

Miss Cheerilee replied, "Then I will take you in force, you are surrounded Shadow, dear." 

Then a bunch of guard ponies came behind her. 

"I am not even dangerous! Why do you need guard ponies!?" Shadow shouted with her fangs bared. 

"We have seen what you can do... Shadow..." Cheerilee stated. 

Thoughts raced through Shadow's mind. 

'Was she going to run..?' 

No, she couldn't. There were guards behind her. 

'Could she fly away?'

No, she just barely learned fluttering with her wings. 

'Could she attack..?'

While thinking, Shadow got caught up with reality. 

She did not know she was hovering or that her eyes were glowing and icy blue... 

Shadow reached the ground again. 

"Get AWAY from me!!" Shadow cried. 

Miss Cheerilee was not surprised, but the guards were horrified. 

Suddenly, Shadow had her fangs bared and she was forced on the ground. Then there was a giant yellow wave that sounded like an explosion. 

It came from Shadow. 

Shadow still had tears in her eyes... 

Her Shadow was not a pony's shadow, but now a wolf... 

Shadow woke up and was at the orphanage. 

"How did you..." Shadow began growling, "I CAN'T TAKE IT!"

 Another wave shot threw her, shaking the ground and the table beside her bed. 

"Brace yourselves stallions! It is the she-devil again." The guard leader said. 

"Hmph. So now they call me a she-devil. That is a nice name, but.." Shadow sighed. There was no way of getting out of her room. Locks were bolted into her door from the inside out. There were also no windows. 

"I can help you..." The pink mare trotted over. 

"How- I am not even going to ask how you got in here. Anyways, why are you in the orphanage?" Shadow hesitated as she asked.

 "Cheerilee thought I was crazy believing in dragons." She explained. 

"I got in-" Shadow tried, but she was cut off. 

"I already know! You are like an iconic figure here.. Your waves are pretty awesome! You have a pretty rad name, She-Devil. Oh that's right.. They call me Dragoness around here, but you can call me Dragon." Dragoness replied. 

"Nice to meet you Dragon, but my actual name is Shadow. Not she-devil... But it is a pretty cool name, I guess.." Shadow said. 

"Alright, Shadow!" Dragoness had a plan, "I'm going to get you out of here, Shadow."

There was a pause.

"So how exactly are you going to get me out...?" Shadow nervously asked. 

"I am Eternal Space's student after all." Dragon said proudly. 

"Eternal Space... I have heard that name before... I haven't met him, though." Shadow was thinking hard. 

"Oh yeah, you have. You don't remember? you are the ch-" Dragon covered her mouth fast. 

"It's all in your prophecy Shadow. You will find out soon enough." Dragon explained. 

"Prophecy? Quests? Gee, I am confused... Lets just get on with the escape plan." Shadow was confused.

Dragoness was going to preform a spell to get Shadow out of the orphanage.

"Goodbye, dear Shadow... I hope to see you again.." Dragon sadly looked at Shadow.

 "Why goodbye? You can come with me Dragoness! Please.. Don't.. Leave.. Me.." Shadow sadly knew that this was the last time she would ever see her. 

The spell that Dragoness preformed had blinded Shadow, but through the little things that she could see, she could see her new friend's ending... 

"Goodbye.. My dearest Shadow Wolfie." The spell killed Dragoness Lilac instantly.

Shadow was teleported onto the same rock that she had awoken from in the forest.
