Chapter 3
Third Person Narrative
Sir Rodney sat up in a chair wide awake, not being able to sleep. He rubbed his eyes and leaned back. He yawns and stands up, he decided that he'll try to just sleep for a bit. As he was walking he heard a soft thudding. He looked around and sighs. Must be from outside, he thought to himself. As he began walking away he heard another thud.
He shook his head and went to the window. He pushed it open and looked outside. It was nothing. He was about to move back inside when he felt something suddenly grab him. He froze up and to move. A very short time passed and he moved away quickly when he suddenly was able to move again. He shook his head and took some steps back.
He took a few sharp breaths and looked around. There was no one there and he then looked down. He let out a breath and shook his head. A part of the floor was sticking up, he must of had his foot pushed up against that. He turns and heads to bed. But there was a small thought nagging at the back of his head that it wasn't that peice of floor.
Jerome and Bryn stood from a distance and smirked. They enjoyed giving the. Battlemaster a scare. They knew they'd been banished but they turned and quickly went back to where Shadow was.
~~~
Shadow was sitting in a chair in his libary looking through a few different books. He was keeping his base in his house not in middle of the forest. His house was in a hidden spot a one day travel by boat from the main lands.
Shadow enjoyed his house much more then the forest actually. He liked it more for many reasons two of them are it's more quiet and the second thing is that it was more straegic for him. It was a hidden house on a hidden island that people keep away from for a bunch of reasons. It was a perfect spot.
He closed his book and nodded. Yes, his theory was right. So now he could start to slowly put the first stage of this plan into action. It was almost time to visit an old friend. He stood up and grabbed his new mask and sword. He took a few other things and left. This was all perfect.
Gilan woke up in bed tense. He still had a few lingering nightmare's of Shadow. He stood up needing coffee, Erica was asleep in her room. The wedding was in two months and Gilan couldn't wait. Jenny wasn't staying here yet, she said she was going to move in later. He didn't mind and she did already knew about his nightmares. Honestly she was the only one who knew.
He walks into the kitchen but was suprised as there was already coffee made and a but ready for him. Before he could do anything he freezes up as he sees Shadow sitting cross-legged in a chair. He was alive and well. He wore his normal black cloak but his mask was different. It was black with painted red lines on it.
"Hello. Long time no see." He said. Gilan stood frozen looking at him. Shadow chuckled in a low voice. "What? Your not happy to see me?" He asks looking at him.
"H-how are you alive!?" Gilan demands. Shadow just smirks under his mask. "Sit. Let's talk a little bit." Shadow said calmly.
Gilan was about to go get Erica or some weapon but for some reason he just sat down across from Shadow. Gilan was confused what had just happened.
"To answer your confusion I can still control a bit. The spell and the potion you drank still has remnants in your body. I can ask you to do small things. But don't worry I am not going to kidnap you, well yet. Since your a big part of my plan again." Shadow said calmly. "I'll never help you. I don't care if you control me. I'll fight it." Gilan said determined not to be a puppet again.
Shadow stood up drawing a small dagger. "I know but you have no choice. Now. Hold still...."
Gilan suddenly sat up in bed in a cold sweat. A dream. It was just a dream. Shadow wasn't alive...it was all a dream. But he did feel a weird numbness on the side of his neck. He ignored it though.
