The Skycastle was surrounded by life boats. Now, it was the other Sky Raiders' job to loot the castle for all of its treasures.

Megan walked the courtyard awkwardly as people bustled around carrying random objects. She looked for the sword that the wolffish dragon had bashed out of her hand, but it had vanished. Somehow it had disappeared. Soon, she had to give up the search. It had probably fallen off the edge of the floating island. It was unfortunate, but there was nothing to be done. It was gone.

Megan wandered the halls of the main building aimlessly. After a lot of 'congratulations, you didn't die this time's, she had gotten some food in the mess hall, which happened to be the room where she had first met Adam Jones.

Now, she was just exploring, half hoping to run into Mira. She was the only person Megan knew, by name anyway. She'd given the others plenty of nicknames.

As she rounded a corner, she glanced over her shoulder and plowed right into a boy with dark hair and severely tanned skin.

He almost toppled to the floor. "Hey! Watch it."

"Sorry." Megan steadied herself against the wall.

The boy looked up and raised an eyebrow. "You're the new girl, right?"

Megan finally met his gaze. "Guilty as charged."

The boy tried to hide his admiration. "I heard you were pretty impressive today."

She shrugged. "I guess you could say that."

The boy's jaw dropped. "You fought a fricken dragon," he gestured, pantomiming the creature's massive size, "and you're acting like it's no big deal."

Megan shrugged again. "It really isn't."

The boy made a skeptical face.

She grinned. "Believe it or not, I've faced worse."

The boy's eyes widened in disbelief. "You just got here."

She nodded. "And..."

"How have you faced worse?"

Megan chuckled. "Let's just say that the Five Kingdoms isn't the only world with magic."

The boy studied her for a moment before the words sunk in. "No way."

"There it is." She patted him on the shoulder. "Most people don't see it, but it's always been there, whether we want it or not."

He stared at the wall in utter shock.

Megan held back a laugh. "I'm Megan by the way. Megan Burgess."

The boy cleared his throat. "I'm Jace. Just Jace."

Megan smirked. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Just Jace."

He sighed and Megan giggled. Suddenly, a bell rang.

Jace sighed. "Here we go again."

Megan followed him through the halls to the mess hall. This should be interesting.
