-Chapter 3-

My back was stiff from laying down on my new bed all night. After Evan showed me my room I arranged all my stuff and tried to sleep, but that didn't happen. Paranoia was part of the reason why I couldn't sleep, but it was also because I can't really sleep. Either way, I was exhausted when beams of sunlight entered into my dark room.

A pop came from my back as I sat up and stretched. The house was still quiet so I figured the guys aren't really morning people like me. I got out of bed and put on ripped jeans as well as a dark blue sweater. The sweater covered my slightly bruised hands and was comforting. My mask was hanging on my door handle, so I swiftly grabbed it, put it on, and opened my bedroom door.

My head turned from left to right, seeing if anyone was in the hallway and I spotted no one. I closed the door behind me and made my way down stairs. The floor creaked underneath my weight moving onto and off of it in a rhythmic pattern. I moved from the living room and found myself standing in the doorway of a big office.

My first assumption that this was the heist room, but desk at the other end of the room made it obvious that it was an office. Plus, this room was too out in the open. No rational human would keep there plans and business files in such an accessible place. I turned around to go back into the living room but saw Lui standing only a few feet away from me, a sly smirk printed on his face.

"So, Delirious, you sleep well?" I glared at him.

He figured it out already.

He chuckled and continued talking, "You know, I really don't like secrets and you're a big one, bud. Unfortunately for you, I know how to reveal secrets and honestly? I thought you'd try harder to hide it from me," he paused, "Jon."

I stayed still and wasn't too shocked. Lui stared uncomfortably at me, trying to make me break. I let my posture grow bored, unamused, and I crossed my arms.

"Don't act all 'I have no idea what you're talking about' to me. The tattoo on your neck. I thought I'd saw it somewhere and then I remembered the man at the library, who turns out to be you. C'mon, fess up. We both know the truth," Lui spok harshly.

I bit the inside of my cheek, only slightly annoyed since I was going to have to tell him either way. Lui could reveal me in an instant and I needed to make sure he'd keep his mouth shut, so I motioned for him to follow me before walking past him. The light steps behind me was a warning that I couldn't try anything and I wasn't sure if he was armed.

I managed to find a small empty room that was probably used for storage. It was bigger than I thought which was a good thing. I stepped into the room and Lui was still close behind me. His eyes dug a hole through the back of my head as I removed my mask. I turned around and saw Lui's dull expression turn into an almost evil one.

"So what do you want?" I asked roughly.

"Relax, I don't want anything. I simply wanted to see if I was right. Is that so wrong of me to do?"

"That's not the whole truth."

He smirked, "You think you're so clever don't you? Well whatever, you're right so listen up. I know who you are so don't even think about trying anything."

I stared at him, "You don't know shit about me."

"Oh, really? Please I've read all about you from the media and have talked to gangs you've either attacked or work with. I know you."

I laughed, "Really? That's the information you have about me? Anyone can know about that and my work. Don't underestimate my skills and ability from a bunch of cheap information, ever again. You have no idea what I could do to you and how slow and miserable I can make your death."

A spark of fear lit up in his eyes before I shoved him out of the way and put my mask back on. Lui didn't follow me this time which I was grateful for. I was about to head back upsairs when a voice called for me.

"Delirious!"

I turned around and saw Evan with a spatula in his hand. He had some sort of syrup stuck to his face and some flour rubbed on his shirt. The sight was amusing and it took a lot for me not to burst out laughing.

"I made breakfast. Come eat."

Shrugging, I followed him into the kitchen and noticed nobody else was there, not even Lui. I turned to Evan for an explanation and he seemed to catch on as to why I was staring at him.

"Oh, everyone is still asleep and I usually make breakfast for everyone before they wake up," he smiled softly.

"That's... thoughtful," I stated.

"Thanks."

I sat down on a stool by the kitchen counter. It was surprisingly comfortable and had a small back piece so you didn't have to slouch forward. Evan's back was turned to me as he put various things onto a plate. Once he was done he turned to me and set the plate in front of me. I looked down at the plate and then back up at him.

"Well what are you waiting for? Eat and tell me how it tastes."

I spoke in a monotone voice, "What about my mask?"

"Oh," he paused and thought for a second. "Uh, just raise it above your lips."

"But then I won't be able to see."

He sighed, "Jesus Christ, just take off the mask then I don't know!"

I chuckled, "You're cute when you're frustrated."

Instead of completely removing my mask, I turned it to face the left side of my face so no one would see my face if they came downstairs. Evan didn't say anything about the situation and I could've sworn I saw his face go pink.

On the plate was two pancakes, a few things of sausage, and scrambled eggs with melted cheese on them. In all honesty, everything looked delicious. I dug into the food with my fork and was shocked; it tasted better than it looked. Evan waited patiently for my reaction on how it tasted.

I gave him a thumbs up, "This is really, really good."

He smiled like a proud child and finished cooking a few things while I ate. My hunger must've been greater than I thought because I finished everything relatively fast. Evan had taken his plate into his office after getting everything cooked. I simply put my plate into the sink, put my mask back over my face, and sat in the living room, bored.

A few minutes later I heard yelling coming from upstairs. I turned my head towards the direction of the shouting and tried to listen to find out how many people were up. It seemed like there were multiple people waking everyone in the house up from the laughs and complaints. Soon, the guys came rushing down the stairs, ignoring me, and making a bee-line for the kitchen.

"Stop taking everything you fuck!" Marcel shouted causing the group to erupt in laughter.

I rolled my eyes, irritated at the loud talking and shouting. With everyone eating, I thought it would've been quieter but they weren't civil at all. I tapped my finger against my knee, trying to focus on something other than the noise. My head started pounding at the sound so I decided to head upstairs.

"Oh look at who it is! Mystery man himself," Tyler's voice came from behind me, causing everyone to finally go quiet.

I stopped in my tracks and didn't turn around, "You ever gonna talk freak?" he snapped.

The sound of a chair moving across the wood floor echoed in the house, "Well? I'm waiting."

Everything was silent now. I could feel Tyler moving closer behind me. He thought he was being sneaky but I could hear his soft footsteps coming closer and closer. I waited until he was in arms reach of me to turn around and tightly grasp his arm. In one smooth motion I dropped him to his knees and bent his arm back, any farther back and his arm would snap.

I leaned down to his ear and spoke in the deepest and lowest voice I could make, "Don't you dare insult me or sneak up on me ever again."

He let out a terrified gasp as I released his arm. Everyone's eyes went from me back to Tyler, who was grasping his arm and still on his knees. I scoffed at how scared everyone was and made my way upstairs and into my room. It surprised me that Tyler didn't get angry and try to attack me, but honestly I was glad that I didn't have to kick his ass.

I plopped down onto my bed, then threw off my mask before putting my head in my hands. I sighed heavily and rubbed my face. My eyes opened and I immediately saw my sketch book peeking out of my small bag. Determined to get my mind off things, I hastily picked up the sketch book, along with a pencil, and set it on a small table by a black desk chair in my room. I dug around in my bag a little more when I eventually found my headphones plugged into my iPod. Quickly, I put them into my ears and pressed shuffle, blasting the song Tied Down by Jaymes Young in my ears.

I sat down on the black chair and opened the book to a blank page. Slowly I started drawing onto the sheet of paper. Line after line, the figure of a person started to appear on the page. My mind went into a place of insanity as I drew the person being mutilated by a monster. I filled the page with multiple drawings of people on the edge of drowning, chained up, tortured, and other gruesome sights.

A knock came from my door and I finally realized how messy my drawings were from me drawing them so quickly. I didn't feel any sort of emotion about the things I drew. Especially since the majority of the drawings were of me, reliving the life I left behind.

"Delirious? Come out and put on your mask. We've got a job," Evans voice was muffled by my music and the door, yet I still understood him.

Quickly I shut off my iPod, closed my sketch book, and put my mask on once again. Sometimes I hated wearing the damn mask, but other times I couldn't live without it. I opened the door and saw Evan in different clothes than earlier. He motioned for me to follow him so I agreed.

Evan led me into the heist room where everyone sat around a rectangular table. All the eyes on the room stared me down but I ignored them. Evan seemed to ignore the tension and went to one end of the room. I looked around the room and saw the only empty chair was the one farthest away from Evan. I was slightly ticked off so I grabbed the chair and moved it to the side if the room Evan was on. Everyone stared at me but still stayed silent.

Evan raised an eyebrow at me but talked about the job, "Alright, tonight we're doing a patrol of the warehouse so we know what to expect tomorrow. Wildcat, Basically and Mini you guys are going to distract everyone outside by saying you're there for an important job. You'll need to cause a scene, but don't make them become hostile. Nogla and Moo you two are going to be watching the warehouse from a distance, make sure no one is onto us. Terroriser, Lui, and myself will sneak in and map out the place as well as figure out how many people they have. Delirious, you'll stay here and hack into everything they have and download their files without getting caught. You'll also stay and watch a live feedback of their cameras for back up. Everyone understand?"

A collective yes came from the group, "Alright, if you need any additional details ask now. If not, go pack up what you'll need."

Everyone stood up and got out of the room. I stayed sitting down and waited until everyone exited the room to talk to Evan. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Lui lingering in the room, his expression completely blank. I turned my head and looked straight at him. Lui stiffened before leaving the room and shutting the door behind him.

"Where am I gonna be at for the job tonight?" I asked.

"We've got a secluded room with all our technology. I'll show you where it's at."

I stood up and he grabbed my arm, "If something goes wrong tonight you'll have to talk over an earpiece so you know what that means."

"They'll hear my voice," I confirmed. "Whatever, as long as they don't have to see my face."

Evan turned and started walking out of the room, leading me to the room with their technology. It was relatively close to the heist room which was convenient. Inside the room was a bunch of monitors and multiple filling cabinets. It was big but there was so much stuff in the room that it looked tiny.

"Make yourself comfortable-oh-and here," he tossed me a key that I caught easily, "You said you wanted all access to the information we have and this key can open any door, cabinet, and anything in general that's locked. Also, the warehouse we're scouting tonight is number twenty six on Sunrise Bay."

"Thanks," the words left my lips so quickly that I didn't even have time to process why I said it in the first place.

He seemed surprised but smiled, "No problem. You know where to find me."

Evan shut the door behind him leaving me alone in the room. The first thing I did was sat down and examined the key. It was a metallic gold color and had foreign symbols carved into the key. One I recognized as a symbol of protection, but I wasn't sure where I had seen it before or how I knew what it was.

I put the key in my pocket, then turned to the monitors and keyboard on the desk. For an hour or so I got used to advanced software they had. The technology made it easier to hack into systems without being undetected and it worked in a smoother rhythm. I decided to be one step ahead for the mission and found the warehouse's system when someone knocked on the door.

I stood up and opened it, suspecting it was Evan, but instead saw Tyler standing at the door. I thought he was going to be pissed at me but I noticed how serious he looked.

"The mission tonight is on hold. Someone in an unlicensed Mustang threw a brick and broke the window in Evan's room. There's a note attached we need you to try and decode."

My heartbeat slowly increased in fear that Evan was hurt. I internally cursed at myself for already becoming so attached. We stood in the doorway, in an awkward silence. I motioned for Tyler to go to Evan's room causing him to roll his eyes and lead me to his room.

When I entered the room behind Tyler, the first thing I took note of was that Evan was okay and his window was completely shattered. Then, I realized that you could practically hear a feather hit the ground in here. No one spoke up, instead Brock handed me a small, folded, sheet of paper. I unfolded it and was shocked.

'Kpobuibo, ju't Mvlf, dbmm nz pme ovncfs qmfbtf. (1)'

"Do you have any paper and a pen I can borrow?" I asked Evan.

The group let out a few gasps and looked at one another like they needed conformation from each other about the situation. Evan was completely unfazed and handed me a piece of paper and a red pen. I wrote the note down on the spare sheet of white paper and gave the original note back to Brock.

I turned and started to leave the room, "I'll tell you if I discover anything."

"Thanks," Evan said causing me to stop before I shut the door.

"Just doing the job," I replied smoothly and shut the door.

Quickly I went into my room and locked the door. I ripped my mask off my face and chucked it at my bed. I went over to sit in my desk chair and began to decode the note. As soon as I read it, I knew it was from Luke. Him and I came up with a way to talk without people understanding what we were saying to one another. The number at the end of each note was how many letters back you would have to go to get the original letter. It seemed complex, but it wasn't at all. After a few minutes I decoded it.

'Jonathan, it's Luke, call my old number please.'

I scanned the page again and again. Awhile back he had made it clear he wanted me out of his life, so why would he want me to call him? Question after question filled my mind yet I got no answer for any of them. I felt like I was overreacting in this situation, but I was so panicked and scared that I couldn't think straight.

An antsy feeling washed over me causing me to pace around the room. I knew I couldn't tell Evan about this, it wasn't like I was planning on staying around anyways. Before I knew it, my phone was in my hand, lingering over Luke's old number. I closed my eyes, pressed call, and held the phone up to my ear.

It rang twice and then a voice came through the phone, "Glad you got my note Jon. Now listen closely, you can't stay there any longer. There's a group of traitors among your new gang."
