It was a perfect cloudy summerday.
After a 10 hours trip, my two best friends (Brittany and Joelle) and I finally arrived at our destination for the next foive weeks:
The cabin in the woods at the lake.
Yeah, I know it's a pretty awkward name, but what can I say, I love precise nicknames.
"Hey menace!" I shout across the house "where did you put our snacks?!"
"Just look for the red box." sighed Brittany right next to me.
"Holy shit! I told you before: don't sneak up on me!"
"You have so much to say, I can't remember every little detail."

I just waved at her and went back to the car.
"I saved the snacks" Joelle held up the red box.
"Great job, Joe. And now all I have to do is find my 'moonshine' and the party started" I crawl in the trunk and buried my upper half in our luggage.
"You have moonshine?" - a voice asked, deep like the ocean.

"ouch, damn!" while climbing out of the trunk again I was rubbing my head "who asked?"
"oh sorry - my name is Felix. Me and my friends staying in the cabin next to yours. I saw your car and want to say hello... Hello" he blessed me with the brightest smile, I've ever seen in my entire life.
"Hi Felix, my name is Kim. The stunned girl next to you is Joe and Brittany is somewhere in the house or swimming or lost in the woods. What is that?" I pointed at the plate he's carrying.
"mh? Oh, right. I baked some brownies this morning - maybe you want some?" and again - smiling happy face.
He gave me the brownies, turned to Joe and take her hand in both of his.
"G'day mate" too stunned to speak she just nods.

"Thanks, that's really nice. Yeah - ehm, the moonshine isn't real moonshine. It's a sort of liqueur."
"What a relieve, I thought you have a whole illegal distillery somewhere in the woods."
"Felix...? C'mere bro! Where are you?"
"I'm with our neighbors... Looks like the cabin is rent this summer..."
Damn, these guys can shout really loud.
I looked up the path which is right behind the house and saw three dark shadows.
Oh, how naive I was - not knowing that this encounter was my way right through hell...
