Chapter 99 - Strip down in front of Chen Yibo

BTW, I plan to change all country names to fictional names (I choose flower theme) so that I won't get into trouble when I publish this book into an ebook. Thanks to my editor for pointing out the dangers of using copyrighted names, even if it's Instagram or Facebook!

I will start changing from this chapter onwards! I'm still rewriting from chapter 1, which I had not updated on any public platform yet.

Korea = Crocus.

The flowers have no relation to Korea, nor do I intend to match anything. From now on, please consider Crocus and other 'country' names as fictional countries with no relation to real-life countries on Earth. This will be the same for other country's names!

XG 99 - strip down in front of Chen Yibo

There was no way Wong Xue Guo would strip down in front of Chen Yibo.

Chen Yibo failed to change her mind, especially when he was also shying away from the idea of her removing her clothing in front of him.

So he was kicked out of the washroom and with the lights turned on, she was able to check by herself. After confirming there was no serious injury from visible view, she quickly dressed up again to avoid catching a cold. The time taken to put on her clothing lengthened now that her body aches started screaming for attention.

As for addressing her mild cuts and the bruises decorating her skin? No, she was too exhausted to do anything to them. Not to mention, she would not get into trouble for leaving them to be tended to back at the laboratory, surrounded by warmth and her mother's care.

It was a bit saddening to see her scratched face that might leave a scar, but she was no longer a noble lady that would mourn for their beauty instead of cherishing their lives. After cleaning the scratch marks on her cheek, Wong Xue Guo tidied herself as best as she could, and winced when she closed her palm around her sword handle. Her bruised palms and knuckles could only be wrapped with bandages for now, even if it would be scary if the bleeding stopped and the bandage stuck onto her wound.

Her legs were faring much better than her arms, so she considered kicking more zombies later. With the zombies' flesh rotting to a great degree, would it be easy for her to stomp a hole in their chest?

Chen Yibo was waiting outside when she exited the washroom. They gathered together with others that were surrounding the lit up monitors thanks to the generator.

"Oh, little princess, want to watch how the virus first started spreading in Crocus?" Kang Xunsu asked from his lazily sprawling pose on the floor.

Not only did Ta Kei find the experiment records, but he also hacked into the surveillance video records. Just as Kang Xunsu said, someone had gotten into the eighth floor without permission and accidentally got bitten by an experimented patient that was in the middle of spasming. That person quickly left when doctors were coming, immediately exited the building, and drove away.

"Is it right to blame that woman? What if she wasn't?" Wong Xue Guo asked dubiously.

"She lives in the first infected area," Beom Seok noted with a gloomy face.

Okay, so maybe she was the first zombie outbreak in Crocus.

On the ninth floor, also the VIP floor, there were two figures with their heads sticking together, running down the corridor in a great synchronism. Their faces were identical and currently filled with anger, frustration, and anxiousness.

"We have laughed at 'Ghost' for failing to kill one girl. This must be our karma," the head on the right said dejectedly.

It was an acceptable mistake to fail in killing Vihaan, but how could they not kill a young girl with no ability?

"You should have grabbed something sharp and stabbed her instead of punching her to death!" The head on the left scolded his twin. "They are blocking our path! To the left!"

The twins simultaneously switched to the left and continued running. They had heard of Charles Wong but deemed him weaker than them as he was only a normal human. But now that they were being hunted down, it was unpleasant to discover Charles Wong and his group of thugs could back them to a corner.

"Did you see any dead bodies left on this floor?" The right twin asked.

"No. You had used them all to get the girl, remember? Don't worry, as long as I can see them and-"

Before the left twin could finish his words, he was suddenly shot from an angle he had missed, the blind spot he had not even noticed!

"Righty!" The left twin could feel one of his twin's eyes being shot and it was done on purpose. He released his power, desperate to connect to any corpse around, but there was none inside his control range.

He will need to kill one of the thugs to make them his soldier!

"Lefty!" The right twin called out in warning and both of them worked in perfect unison, rolling away from the bullets raining down at their previous spot.

"Let's run away," the left twin suggested.

"No way! We promised our Lord to wipe out that girl! I won't allow our Lord's plan to fail! Lefty, don't you want our Lord to be free?"

Being conjoined twins that share a brain, many doctors had said they would not live long. But their Lord proved them wrong and managed to keep them alive for more than thirty years. Because they have the gene, and each twin could form different abilities as they have separate hearts, the Lord was willing to accept them.

"Of course, I want to! But we are at a disadvantage. Your eye is injured and there are no bodies for me to control."

They slipped into a room silently and the right twin used a bed sheet to put pressure onto his wound. With his remaining eye, he scanned around, looking past the walls.

The thugs were quickly approaching their hiding place as if they knew where they were hiding. "Damn it! How do they pinpoint us?"

"We need to move. Silently approach one from the back, kill him and get the body to kill the rest for us."

Those thugs would definitely get soft, unwilling to destroy their companion's dead body! By the time they got a hold of their emotion, the corpse would have killed a few of them.

The window facing their back suddenly crackled loudly, the glass shard flew everywhere and at the same time, a cold, hard thing wrapped around both the twins' necks before they could see what happen. The metal chain tightened and the twins were forced to stick even closer to each other while trying to pry the chain away.

Connected to the metal chain was Lan Yan, who used the chain to help her climb through the broken window from outside, which no normal people would be brave enough to do on the eighth floor. Now that there was no law forbidding her from carrying dangerous items around, she could now embrace her desire to use metal chains as her weapon.

The twins could not do anything as more men entered the room they were hiding in, with guns pointing at them.

One of the last to enter was Charles Wong, his appearance and aura truly befitting an underground boss. Each of his hands was holding onto a cold black gun. Without any warning whatsoever, he immediately shot the left twin's heart, killing the corpse controller.

"Lefty!" Righty cried out in despair when he could immediately feel his twin's death, as there was now a gaping emptiness in his mind that was always filled with his twin's presence.

Lan Yan released her metal chains and the remaining twin wanted to charge at Charles Wong, but his dead twin's body was holding him back. It had been so many years since he last felt the pain in his head when the twins had yet to master how to coordinate with each other's movement.

Charles Wong pointed his gun at the remaining twin's forehead. "Where's your 'Lord'?"

With his face full of tears and blood from his eye wound, the right twin laughed in despair. "My Lord will avenge us! I will not tell you anything."

A gunshot immediately ended his life that was dedicated to his Lord.

At the other side of the world, the monk watched in despair as another lotus lamp went out on the shelf. "The twins... died."

A bald man opens his eyes after his disciple announces their allies' death. "The Lord had advised us to get the Morelli family to assist us if the twin failed. They should be able to handle Suzanne Moretti and her family for us."

"Who should be sent there?" the monk asked his senior.

Master Sheng stood up and smoothed his robe. "I will."

END OF ARC 3 MUSIHADA LABORATORY

A/N:

I have no idea how hospitals arrange different patients' floors. So this novel is fictional, made up by me, with only some 'similar' details to our real world. Please read this novel for entertainment purposes, not educational. Thank you!
