XG 138 - Unique, one of a kind and not duplicatable

As if feeling Wong Xue Guo's displeasure, the shadow stopped its dramatic act and behaved obediently like a real shadow.

"Could you control your shadow?" Chin Chun was concerned, as so far, the shadow behaved as if it had its own will. Or it was just acting as a platform for the owner's emotional display.

Subconsciously frowning as she tried to control her shadow, it trembled for a moment before it changed shape to what Wong Xue Guo had in mind. It lengthened and became a tall pillar. Then she controls it to become round before trying to expand the size until she feels the pressure.

Her head feels stretched, similar to when she was in intensely focused mode when the circle-shaped shadow became as big as a children's swimming pool. Now that the maximum size was determined, she started shifting its shape, from butterfly to flower shapes.

"It's like a puppet shadow show," someone whispered and was quickly shushed.

To Wong Xue Guo's dismay, she half-heartedly agreed with that comment. Just how was this a powerful ability? She was being scammed!

"Guo Guo!" Ash, the first non-family member that dared to call her by that nickname, enthusiastically waved his hands to grab her attention.

At first Wong Xue Guo was not comfortable with him calling her that, but since he was not exactly a stranger and had been in her team together more than once, she let him use it. He had also asked her permission if he could, after using it already anyway, but it helped in reducing the discomfort of it.

When the first person started, there would be others following along. She had been shocked when a stranger suddenly called her by that nickname.

She immediately told him not to use it, which he pointed out that Ash did. She immediately shot him down that Ash was her friend, while that rude person immediately expressed his desire to be friends with her as well.

'What the hell?' That was what she thought at that time. "Sorry, but I don't make friends with someone that does not respect my comfort zone. Please do not call me by that nicckname again."

Quite rude, but this was the first time someone wanted to get into her good book this much. Perhaps being friends with a director's daughter was too tempting and beneficial?

But she swore that Ash, Kim Sung-Ho and Vihaan were treated well because of their capability and sincerity in helping people out. Suzie Yap only brought them into their ship because they were grateful people that know how to return the favour.

"Yes?" Wong Xue Guo waited as Ash made his way closer, with Kim Sung-Ho following along. Seeing the latter, she automatically looked for Vihaan, but he was not around.

"Have you watched 'Naruto'?"

"Yeah. It's a popular anime."

"Then you should know Shikamaru!" Ash said excitedly.

Of course, Wong Xue Guo knows that character. Nara Shikamaru, is a ninja with the ability to manipulate shadows.

Shikamaru could control other people's movements with shadow.

Understanding, Wong Xue Guo controlled her shadow to merge with Chen Yibo's, and then raised a hand up. Chen Yibo, who never read manga or watch anime, was confused by the sudden turn of conversation. He was puzzled on why she would suddenly raise her hand while staring attentively at him.

Grasping her raised hand, he asked, "What is it?"

Wong Xue Guo and Ash immediately knew she could not control other people's movements.

Shikamaru could strangle people with his shadow that was formed into a hand shape.

It was easy to mould her shadow into a hand shape. The shadow hand could move on Chen Yibo's body, but he did not feel anything when it crawled up his body, not even the 'strangulation' around his neck.

That does not work either. Move on!

Ash placed a pen near her shadow and she tried to lift it with her shadow. The previous failures had dropped her expectations to the very bottom.

Thus, when her shadow wrapped around the pen like a tentacle, she had only half-heartedly tried to lift the pen.

"It moved!" Ash cheered.

Wong Xue Guo's heart also throbbed with happiness, but she still retained her composure. "It's just shaking it."

Indeed, the shadow seems to be struggling with the task. Like a little baby trying to learn how to carry a small item.

"But it could still lift the pen. With more training, your shadow will be able to lift the pen effortlessly," Chen Yibo praised.

The shadow gave up and tossed the pen away, giving others the impression of a child that was no longer interested in the new toy.

"The little shadow reminds me of the much younger little princess," Kang Xunsu teased.

Ash rubbed her shadow, totally treating it like a dog as it twisted around as if happy with the attention. "Why don't we start small and try to punch instead?"

Ash stubbornly wanted to continue to test if the shadow has any other attacking methods.

Since he was the one that suggested it, Wong Xue Guo tested it on him. But her shadow needed to stick onto objects and could not 'emerge' from the surface. The best she could do was tug his shirt, which seemed like she was trying to get his attention instead of bullying him.

"...Useless," Wong Xue Guo summed up and the shadow, as if shocked by its mistress' cruel word, shook and shrunken as if saddened.

Kang Xunsu's body shook in laughter as he teased, "Little princess, don't bully your shadow."

"You think laughing isn't bullying too?" Wong Xue Guo sneered.

Chen Yibo stepped forward to cheer her up "Your shadow is very useful. It could help you carry things once you trained it well."

Wong Xue Guo stared at him, feeling speechless. Could shadow gain muscles?

"Your shadow is also useful in blocking the sun," Kang Xunsu praised and earned a disapproval look from Chen Yibo.

"Yibo is right," Chin Chun said. "Younger sister's shadow will be very useful for silent assassination. Who would pay much attention to a shadow, when we are always surrounded by them?"

Wong Xue Guo and Kang Xunsu silently communicated with a glance. Chin Chun has the most dangerous idea among them!

A female researcher with white and black hair poked her head into the room, her eyes went around until they stopped at Chen YiWen.

Wong Xue Guo immediately recognized her as Mina, the Awakened person with the ability to pass by solid objects. With her thought going in that direction, it has gotten her curious if Mina could walk past a ghost.

"Sir, are you still using the VR set?" Mina asked.

Chen YiWen turned to Wong Xue Guo. "Do you still want to test your ability?"

Wong Xue Guo was not as enthusiastic as before and stopped messing with her shadow for now. Her mind felt like a rubber that was overstretched and failed to retract properly.

It was an uncomfortable feeling.

With the main character ending the show, everyone started to leave. They were curious as to why Wong Xue Guo was the only one that retained her body weight and hair colour after completely activating her gene, but they could not discover the reason.

They could only label her as unique, one of a kind and not duplicatable.
