I woke up with someone shaking me. Violently.

"Wake up, Thorn. We're training now, and testing you. So get up!" Caleb released my shoulders, and I got up with a groan. I was still in the clothes I was in last night, mostly because 1) they probably didn't have clothes that would fit me, 2) I was too tired to check.

Caleb threw a wad of clothes at me. "We retrieved your clothes last night, along with any other items you might want. You didn't tell me you used a sword," he turned and was about to walk out and let me change, and then turned around to face me again.

"I don't know your name," he stated, staring holes into my soul. I was struck by how in charge he could seem. When he wanted to.

"Fiona. Now let me change!" I shooed him out and shut the door. I changed as quickly as possible, grabbed my sword, which Caleb had kindly put on my nightstand, and left my room.

"Let's go," he turned and began jogging down the hall. I was forced to keep pace, lest I get lost in this maze.

We eventually made it out into a huge training room, with targets, a large ring for training one on one, dummies, and was probably the second well-lit room I've seen, the first being my bedroom.

Wade and the other brother whom I still don't know the name of were already there.

"You've already met Wade," Wade nodded at me, "and this is Sam," Sam stepped forward and shook my hand at Caleb's words.

"I'm Fiona," I tell them, seeing as neither of them knew. They nod in acknowledgement, then go off to train, Sam at the targets and Wade with the dummies.

"Wow, I almost never get the ring, and when I do, I have no one to train with. Who's lucky today?" Caleb announced, maybe with a little sarcasm.

"Fine. Sword?" I asked, I don't really want to see how pathetic my water shaping is, seeing as I haven't used it for over ten years, besides that night when I used a little bit of my power at James's dorm.

"You're on, Thorn," Caleb shouted, and ran to grab a sword from the rack.

"You know you could call me Fiona!" I yelled back at him. He shrugged, then strode into the ring.

"First blood or surrender?" I ask, getting into my starting position. He shrugged again, and gestured with his sword.

"First blood, I don't want to kill my stubborn wife before I even become her husband," Caleb got into position, and we began circling each other like sharks. The other Blackburns in the room stopped their training and we're watching us.

I vaulted forward and Caleb parried. We had a complicated combination of slashes and blocks. This lasted until Caleb moved a second too late, and my blade nicked his skin and a swell of blood dripped onto the floor.

"I won," I panted. I hadn't had such a talented dueling partner since my father, and he never dueled me fairly, since he only taught me how to fight and then was murdered by Caleb's father.

"Good duel," Caleb was as worn out as I was, panting and sweating. His brothers were clapping, and they seemed surprised that I was able to fight.

"No one usually beats Caleb in a sword duel. He's the sword guy, I'm the bow and arrow guy, and Wade is a Shadow prodigy," Sam explained helpfully.

"I probably wouldn't have won if it was until surrender," I had finally gotten a hold of my breath, and went over to a sword stand to hang up Almace, my sword.

"The dummies are for using abilities?" I ask, deciding to try my full abilities again. Sam nodded, a curious look filling his eyes. Caleb leaned against the wall, seemingly nonchalant, but I could tell he was also interested. Wade was full on watching me.

I stepped towards a dummy, taking out the water bottle I had grabbed at the entrance for refreshment after training.

Unscrewing the cap, I threw the water bottle to the floor, keeping the water in the air. I immediately felt the energy drain, but pushed the feeling aside as I molded the water to the shape I wanted.

Caleb watched wide eyed as I shoved the half of water at the dummy, knocking it over, and the other half making the Sea Shaper customary armor over my clothing.

The armor was cool, like a dunk in the pool on a hot summer day. It was practically invisible from far away, but close up you could see the glimmer of the water. It would block a knife or blade, but still allowed free movement. It was the first thing my father taught me, because he found it the most important skill a Sea Shaper could learn.

"Woah," Sam breathed, staring at me and the dummy. Wade was shaking. Caleb gaped at my armor. None of them noticed how tired I was getting. I assume that's a good thing, seeing as they don't know how much energy I drained.

"Stop crowding her! She is probably on the verge of fainting. She hasn't used her ability in years, give her room and give her time. I think that is enough training for now," William Blackburn limped in leaning on a cane, but that didn't fool me. He could probably kill me with a snap of his fingers with the shadows.

"Boys, come with me. I need to announce my heir to the public. Ms. Thorn, I do believe I missed your name," The oldest Blackburn commanded.

"My name is Fiona," I told him. He nodded.

"Put away the water, Fiona. Save your strength, and your water." he limped out, boys in tow.

I eventually found my way back to my room. I took a shower, and changed into something a bit more presentable, since I have no idea what we will be doing when the boys get back.

I hear a knock on my door and sigh. Here we go again.
